...only Yellowjackets could take Kenny Baker's "Freda" from the mountains of Appalachia to the Metropole Orchestra. Amazing arrangement from the "Greenhouse" album to the performance here. I was so fortunate to hear it live in '94 in Nashville, sans orchestra.
In my opinion, the YJ's prime-time was with Marc Russo on six and Will Kennedy on drums. Your opinion is still fully valid, and there's enough YJ's for everyone's opinion.
@@nunnayuhbitness6708 Yuh, I prefer Russo on sax though. Mintzer is a class of his own. Better than most saxplayers today. William is a very musical drummer. No clichès there.
What an amazing concert! "Real music by real musicians" as Prince used to say.. Top band with a top orchestra, and Vince Mendoza is one of the best arranger on the planet.. Thanks a lot for sharing this gem.
Maan, i'm so happy, that this group made and make this music, because it inspired and inspiring a lot of musicians and i just wanna said, thank you for that! I feel, that i actually alive, because of music and love for music.

Great concert and how right was Bob Mintzer to ask the crowd not to discuss their North Sea Jazz business during the quiet and introspective intro's of songs. It's an annoying phenomenon at concerts: people placing their own gossip above art and artists. Very 'gentlemanly' dealt with by Mintzer.

@@djake1971 May I ask how you have sourced this gem? It's IMPOSSIBLE to find ANYWHERE else in the internet. Searching as minimalistically as possible - "yellowjackets metropole" - very little google hits, no torrents, not even online stores selling unofficial DVDs or bootleggers having it in their list for trading. There is a 2:43 long clip of it on the official YT channel of Metropole Orkest and the quality is higher. The picture of your version is actually OK except the interlacing artifacts. Audio has suffered a bit too much. Any other clips on YT are lower quality. Any idea who I should ask or what I could do to try to find a high quality version of it? Thanks for responding and keep up the good taste of music! ;)

@@tanelehala6422 I know it is nowhere to be found. Someone gave me this concert on a burned dvd back in 1996. So I think it it will be near to impossible to obtain a better version. Maybe if you contact the NPO (our national dutch broadcasting company)? But I think the odds are against your wish, I'm sorry to say...
