The Zero Waste Celebration 

I wonder why not major influential people do weddings like these, it would encourage a large amount of population to do the same!

I can't get my head around how we systematically going back to the traditional methods ....loved it

Nowadays people are rare who think about the earth's health ... Such a nice family 😊

This took me back to my mom's wedding day album. 25 years ago Indian marriages were this. No- plastic, steel glasses or glass, minimal decoration. Here in maharashtra "Patarvali' is used instead of banana leaf.

Such an incredible example of what it means to be accountable to your family, community, land, water, and air!

Going back to our roots.... It's what our older generations used to do. I wish we had not given up these time-tested practices and started following the western countries blindly. Consumerism was never a way of life in our country. I hope that more and more of us are able to understand and appreciate the importance of what this family has achieved. We just need to respect and follow our ancient ways, or it will be too late to save our mother Earth.

As a said lot of hard work, planning, execution, monitoring has taken place in an event like this. It's definitely teamwork and an unforgettable example for ppl in India and around the world. who believe in nature and protect the environment. Great respect and learning from pl like them.

i am also a nature lover person,i use cloth bag to avoid polythene,i use cycle for or take a walk for short distances and try to not waste electricity and water on my level but i feel so bad when i see how careless people are around me..they are wasting water for no reason, wasting food, using polythene. but when i see such videos it inspire me :)

This isn't impossible but you need that conviction, sensitivity towards environment and you have all the necessary teams in place to make such impossible tasks possible like the renting the steel cutlery, segregating the waste and steel utensils after food. Great Initiative took by the family. Hope this culture spreads more within the elite community. This will look much better than the same old style costly decoration. Reason I said "elite community" because, eco friendly items are much costlier and most people doesn't bother to spend much to save earth. So, no spamming please.

We can use flower as much as we want because many or Agarbatti companies use it to make Agarbattiies it will recycle and make venue beautiful too.❤️❤️ And all the avoiding plastics was amazing 😍😍

Excellent thought. Yeah. English is understood by very little population. Should be translated into all the six major indian languages Hindi Telugu Tamil Kannada Malayalam and Bengali. These 6 languages are required to cover 99.9 percentage population of the country. Then this will reach out to masses.

Instead of plastic they use naturally flowers and reusable clothers for decoration It gives income to farmers amd weaver or textile of india Bcoz most of plastic materials decoration part made from china 2. They use steel glasses instead of plastic disposable glasses it generates income to many household helpers for cleaning glasses and eco friendly 3 Instead of plastic wrap they use cloth bags it is good intiavite to promote people to housholds to improve their livehoods Thanks guys for eco friendly marriage

Why not a Event management company..! Just a thought. I think, this family have done a lot of analysis and found an alternate for everything. As it would be very difficult for others to gather all these things together. It would be great if they start an event management company and help others who are interested in such things, they will definitely grow in that.

My relatives are literate but not educated so it would be very difficult for me to even do 50 % what they did because ultimately they throw that same statement " motive behind is to just save money " however organic products and all are way costlier than plastic . I wish our society become progressive

An amazing example! But really want to know the challenges for the usage of glass tumblers post covid era, as people will be very hesitant about cleanliness. I'm sure many would prefer unused paper glasses instead of a Steel glass even if it's washed with atmost care. Waiting for an answer Thank you!

Flowers are atleast compostable, but reusable fabrics (polyester , satin) doesnt even bio-degrade. We recommend to use flowers for decorations and compost those, or use natural fabrics like jute instead of using non biodegradable fabrics
