The Zippo 6hr handwarmer is insane! Even though Jonboy had a few teething problems and nearly set fire to his house, it’s an amazing product. It does exactly what it’s meant to do, warms your hands, Jon’s just a bit loose when it comes to lighter fluid.
Just for a little bit of added information, the burner on top of the hand warmer is called a catalyst burner. Even though we still think it’s voodoo magic, there is a science behind it. So instead of us trying to explain it, here it is in technical terms:
‘A catalytic heater is a flameless heater which relies on catalysed chemical reactions to break down molecules and produce califaction (heat). When the catalyst, natural gas, and oxygen combine together they ignite at a low enough temperature that a flame is not needed.’
We’ve now been using the 6 & 12 hour Zippo handwarmers for a few weeks. They are compact, easy to use and amazing on those cold days. We would recommend them to anyone.
