Coming from a single millennial (22) with NO desire for kids: I caught myself letting out a lot of “MMMMs” and “yeeeessss THATS SO GOOD” 😭 Message received. TLH made me recognize patterns/symptoms in myself, my family and friend groups that I otherwise would’ve learned in a sacrificially selfless manner (I’ve now learned to Just Say It). This episode + Sexologist Shamyra’s episode are my faves lol. But this one in particular forced me to reflect on how my upbringing shaped my self-appointed shame...and how that conditioning would lead to subconscious self-sabotage in my developmental years. Thank you thank you thank you! You’re changing lives and you don’t even know it.

Yaaaaaassas! Talk to your SONS about MENSTRUATION! His girlfriend shouldn't have to explain what is happening in her mind and body. I knew nothing about men before I had sex with a man. It's so dang sad. The embarrassment of cramping or bleeding in front of a guy just shouldn't have to happen.

My favorite episode to DATE! There was sooo much healing language and reversals of wrong teaching and wrong thinking concerning sexual health and sexual perspectives. I’m in awe and feel so blessed to have seen this. It has impacted me forever going forward as a grown adult with children of my own. It spoke to my own sexual uncertainties of young and helped me understand things from a totally different angle. Wow. This was awesome to say the very least! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

In a lot of ways, these conversations really have to be rooted in your own convictions (if you are a Christian). I started typing this during the masturbation topic (so you can follow, if you're reading this lol) Last night in Bible Study, my Pastor said something so good... there are some things that we CAN do that are not helpful or beneficial. For Christians, we believe that everything in our lives is literally designed to bring God glory and to magnify Him. If you can, in good conscience (based on your personal relationship with the Lord) masturbate or do whatever else, then go forth. If there is a conflict, based on His conviction (not based on the standards of this world), then you should be very cautious, because that may be a temptation from the enemy. As a Christian listening to this conversation, I have to filter based on my own beliefs and convictions. Just a message to other Christian viewers, we can be educated and listen to many things, but we cannot allow those things to override our convictions through the Holy Spirit (not to sound churchy :))
@DJMcNutty
@DJMcNutty 5 лет назад
Amen. It's a fine line when you welcome worldly wisdom from a non Christian with a humanistic agenda. We need to know the stats and figures and facts but must filter our response through the word and our convictions. Well said!
@antoinycemathis
@antoinycemathis 5 лет назад
@@DJMcNutty It's such a fine line, and you have to be careful, because as Paul said, "all things are lawful but not profitable", so just because we CAN do something does not mean that it would be to our advantage, from a spiritual perspective. We should not be surprised when the world does not understand or agree with the filter of the Word or our convictions. Prayerfully, our light will help to draw others and not the other way around!! Whew... that's how fine the line is - that we could be drawn to THEIR convictions... gotta be careful and be sure to apply the #FILTER

I was researching the menstrual cup in regards to holistic health and I was reading that the menstrual cup isn’t good because we aren’t suppose to stick anything up there that wouldn’t allow our flow to naturally come down if that makes sense and instead we should naturally let it flow and just use organic chemical free pads🤷🏾‍♀️ the menstrual cup is more cost effective but idk if I trust it....
@joannasaadati8810
@joannasaadati8810 5 лет назад
The cup is good because it doesn't block or create suction around the cervix like a tampon. I personally didn't stick with it because it was too tricky and messy to get in and out but it definitely causes less cramps than tampons. Organic cotton is a must for sure, the chance of TSS is almost nothing compared to regular tampons full of chemicals.

WOW amazing how everyone’s experience is different 😂😂😂 I was the kid who grew up in church and refused to talk about my body and sex and had a natural shame but had a mom who always wanted to have “the talk” and was giving me books 🤦🏾‍♀️ it would be wonderful if parents were required to take a sex Ed class and teach their kids themselves. It’s a shame that parents are too embarrassed or ignorant to do it themselves and leave such an intimate and important topic tied to cultural and religious values for schools to teach in a groups of 30+ kids. I remember in school we weren’t even asking questions during sex Ed because of all the kids around.

I was always taught to listen the first time, you get one warning and whatever consequences comes your way is on you physical or not because a parent repeating themselves to a child when they understand and heard you is called disrespect because it means their ignoring you. Get on their level look them in the eyes and speak and have them repeat it back lol they disobey after a warning there’s consequences. I def wouldn’t have the patience to deal with constantly repeating myself and giving explanations for every little thing and having my authority and boundaries constantly challenged as a kid gets older. Sometimes it’s cool because it means their growing and learning but other times especially when it’s an immediate need to obey it’s not convenient or appropriate either. Having a bad day was fine so long as I didn’t take it out on others and get disrespectful. Anytime I got an attitude I was often reminded to reel it in and don’t cross the line of disrespect in tone, posture, or words lol thankfully I still had leniency sometimes and got away with some things. Please do an episode on how you teach children to be appreciative, be aware of how others who have less or more, and how to give back. I think a lot of us are trying to do better as parents in balancing the discipline and not raising spoiled brats that think the world and their parents lives revolve around them but still wanting to allow them to have a voice. It’s so funny to hear us talk about black people spanking when every white person I know spanked their kids too and saw an immediate correction in their child’s behavior lol A white woman told me the best parenting advice she ever got was to discipline (I’m assuming she meant spank) your kids before the age of 5 because after that it’s too late 😂😂😂😂 before 5 and you are less likely to have problems as they get older. A healthy fear and respect for your parents is good

This was an excellent episode. They all are but this one was so relevant, so relative and definitely needs a part 2, if not a series because there is SO much to talk about regarding sexual health, consent, where to start etc. My 4 year old niece is starting school in just over a week and I just want her to feel empowered within herself to stand up for herself and not be silenced by other kids. We [my siblings inc her mother] are very open about her body parts and the boys parts too. I want her to know she can always come and ask us whatever questions she has without being ashamed or hindered now and in the future. I know she will experience hurt etc but I'd rather it was for things that are out of her control as opposed to the things she can handle herself, even if nobody else is on her side. So yeh, more please. There is another sex-positive youtuber called Shan "Boody" Boodram you guys could look into. Might not be the right person but just a suggestion if Michelle is not available every time.

I won't use a cup simply for the fear of having to wash it out in public. I'm imagining a whole ordeal here.😖😖

MissLady8806 it lasts 12 hrs so ideally you would only change it out at home.

Been using a cup for 2 years. Never had to dump it out in public. I've almost always been able to leave it in for 12 hours. I think the shortest amount of time was 6 hours. And then I just used the family bathroom 😉
