hi i need to ask in qualitative research we have interview guide questionnaire which used for collecting data but if researcher instead of asking those questionnaire ask questions as per his way in such way that main objective of study is lost is that interview considered valid I want to know how researchers must ask questions during IDI &Fgd should one strictly focus questionnaire framed or ask vaguely and can frame it
Just want to let you know that I got my dissertation results today and in the comments the approach I took to thematic analysis was commended, so I have to thank you!
I'm a student at UWS & just received the feedback and grade for my undergraduate dissertation. I just want to say thanks. I've never been an A student so I'm really happy with the result (2/1). As a former radio professional, it is one thing to create content, but quite another to land the content and these videos hit the mark in slickness & delivery. Dr Kriukow delivers in spades. I was looking for videos which provided clear, concise worked examples of the elements essential to my thematic analysis (Nationalism in my case but the same principles will apply elsewhere). The reason I know these tutorials contributed massively to my grade is because of the feedback which praised the clarity, thought process, explanation of the data and the layout of my thematic analysis. Invaluable. I'm 100% certain that my grade would have been so much worse without these tutorials. It is in no way a substitution to coursework or a shortcut to success but I'm certain these tips will turbocharge any submission ✌️
This is so great Matt, thanks for sharing, this literally almost had me in tears. I am so glad that people find this content to be so useful, this is what keeps me going, thank you again for sharing this!
Thank you so much for your content. I'm doing my first ever thematic analysis as part of my master thesis and had been feeling really out of my scope. I've just spent an hour watching your videos and feel much more organized. Much appreciated!
I don't often comment on videos, but this video was absolutely phenomenal. It was so informative, easily digested and was a massive help on helping to smooth out the edged on my thematic analysis skills. Thank you!
It's my first time writing a research paper, when the professor told me to write the result for my thematic analysis, I didn't even know where and how to start. Thank you so much for the explanation, your help is truly appriciated.
I wasn't feeling too happy with my dissertation's thematic analysis section, but now I feel like I know what I need to do to really improve the draft. thank you!
I watched your other video on when how codes become themes. I cannot tell you how much that video saved my life and my research. I was lost and unproductive for over 3 weeks until I found that video. thank you
Now this is what I needed, I was so close to being frustrated but I kept on saying NOPE I AM NOT GOING TO BE FRUSTRATED. I need to strengthen my results chapter as my supervisor advised. Now I know exactly what to work on. Thank you so much.
You are such a great presenter. I am PhD student and now I am using your method to analyze my data. Thanks for your professionalism and humor which makes the learning engaging and fun. Thanks a lot :)
@@qualitativeresearcher It’s great to see how cool and easy it is to follow your instructions. I wish I was one day doing something collaborative with you! Thanks again for such an amazing opportunity to share with all of us! 👌🙌
thank you so much ive conducted a qualitative evaluation of a youth program at a baptist church and used surveys and interviews to collect my data. I'm now in the process of analyzing my results and presenting them. this was so helpful, absolutely love your videos you always explain things in a way I can understand I've never done anything like this I'm working on my Doctorate in adult Education (whew kicking my butt lol) but I got it thank you again
I just discovered your channel and I really love the way you explain things, its so easy to understand and follow. Also really enjoy the funny bits haha
Dr K! I love your humour and the participants' remix! I also appreciated your advice on TA. I am currently writing up my findings and this video was essential.
I am writing my MBA dissertation on the impacts of government policies and current market factors on external wall insulation industry, doing value chain analysis. And this video just answered my question on how to write the results chapter finally. Also professor in the video is so handsome
I really, really wish I had found your channel back in November when I started writing my dissertation, not just now, two weeks before it is due...Thank you so much for all the valuable information.
I don't comment too much, but I just had to after watching this! I've read so many guides that didn't help at all. Thank goodness your video was informative but beginner-friendly! I badly needed this for our paper. Thank you so much!
Hello, I would like to ask please if am conducting a qualitative research about a brand like Gucci so my data collection is through document and books only, how to gather data? do I take quotes from documents as data to later categorize under themes?
@@aideebatarse6204 hi, no I am actually doing a master research. I am still putting my thesis design. The topic is entrepreneurship in fashion, Gucci as case study. So I am adopting a narrative qualitative method and thematic analysis according to my research so far. I have never done qualitative before and I am confused how to gather data! Would it be quotes from docs I will read or what
Thank you for this content. I would say that I definitely learned new techniques to present the results of a typical thematic analysis. Most importantly, it was very useful to see how you explain your main ideas by giving an example from your actual work. Good luck.
Thank you so much I'm working on my Doctoral paper and conducting an evaluation on the benefits of a youth program in a baptist church. my professor asked me to consider using a thematic coding process of my data. the data is being collected from pre & post interviews and surveys. having never done anything like this your video is much appreciated. your humor aided in digesting the information thank you again I will be creating a table to show my data after watching this video still working on it but thank you again
Thank you so much, the way explain is absolutely clear and to the point .... I did not have a clue where to start but after watching i have a complete idea now, how to start and finish this section. highly appreciated
Thank you soooooo much for this video. Very clear explanation. I love the fact that you took us through an example of your work. Thank you for this investment. I am looking to perfect my qualitative analysis skill while applying for a Phd in Public Health. Most importantly, I would like to thank you specially for the comic relief part of this video. That was it for me. It made me laugh so hard that I felt great relief and just enjoyed the rest of the video. I wasn't in the best of moods when I decided to watch the video but I am glad I did. I learnt so much and had a good laugh in the process. Thanks a million.
Thank you greatly for making this video! Extremely helpful. I was having trouble establishing a plan for how I wanted to present my qualitative data for my Thesis.
I have been following your videos to help me with my qualitative investigation for my dissertation project in university. You have been incredibly helpful. Your videos are well explained and easy to understand. Thank you!
Hi, I wanted to take the opportunity to say that I found your video extremely helpful and succinctly . It gave me some good tips along the way as I commence on writing my findings chapter for my PhD! Huge thanks again! Jordan
You bloody legend! Thanks a lot for this video. Sometimes you make stuff easier to understand than my psych course. I'll be back to your channel again for sure.
Thank you! Such feedback means a lot to me. I do try to make this easier to understand than the university does, this is a little mission of mine in fact ;)
@@qualitativeresearcher It means a lot that you even saw my comment but a response is even better. You clearly are passionate about what you teach. Thank you again and keep up the great work :D
Hi! want to let you know that your videos have helped me a lot writing data analysis and findings chapter for my MS Thesis. I'm glad to find such content/instructions where I'm not worried about wasting my time.
Excellent presentation! It's straightforward and clear, and gave me valuable tips on how to present my results in an interesting and understandable way. Thank you so much for being a caring educator, Dr Kriukow.
Could you share (techniques, tips) about intercoder reliability in qualitative research? Do you feel it is necessary, or any alternatives? My main aim is to show that I am not biased (to myself, my ideologies, etc) in my work. Thanks
Presentation in a manner of prose has been my method but I aminclined towards using the model style. I once carried out a mixed methods study wherein I used table for the qualitative data presentation. I will try the model presentation in future studies.
