One thing you didn’t mention about the Purple Heart service medal reference is that the reason someone earns a Purple Heart is because they sacrificed their safety to help someone else. Do you think there’s any reference to sacrifice in these lyrics?

Wow thanks for watching and for sharing that perspective with us. That is a great way of looking at the song. To earn a Purple Heart, you have to put yourself in a position of sacrifice and someone who endures PTSD via DV it fits in perfectly. I agree with you that the song does make such references in being willing to open up.
