@@ReactionTherapyOfficialKendrick had no choice but to respond and do whatever necessary to beat Drake, which is why 6:16 opens with the survival lines. Once you are tied to gang life, as Kendrick is via the Westside Pirus of Compton, there is no exiting. You cannot be perceived as weak. Allowing to Drake to get away with insulting Whitney and their children would translate to real world consequences for Kendrick. If you are perceived as weak, you are vulnerable to fall out. Drake is protected from that in being non-affiliated due to the privilege of growing up in a wealthy Toronto suburb. Kendrick is not protected from that in being tied to the Westside Pirus due to the conditions of Compton. Kendrick evaded formally joining a gang but could not avoid being tied to one for survival purposes

Let me break it down for you Doc. *Kendrick* PTSD from growing up in poverty and crime, high anxiety/fear, abuse, watched abuse of mother, infidelity issues, raised by hyper masculine & distant father, anger issues. *Drake* Identity issues, Entitlement issues, Abandonment issues (No dad), grew up with White jewish mother so isn't culturally in community w/ black people, weirdo w/ young girls, 100% Ego trippin. *JCole* Biracial, but raised in community with Black people, likely avoidance/conflict issues, pretty well adjusted all things considered.

@@ReactionTherapyOfficial All good, I'm learning from you. Key thing with Drake is Kendrick dislikes him because Drake is essentially modern day Blackface to a looooot of people. btw it's not a issue of race with Drake, but one of 'Culture'. We love JCole he's our the 'Culture' i.e. J is culturally black and understands how to manuever within it, Drake does not since he has as I stated before identity issues. Ironically enough if Drake leaned into being Jewish and Canadian from the beginning of his career and learned to respect the art and people he makes money off, I suspect Kendrick wouldn't have issues with Drake (Aside from the ya'know the PDFile stuff) He's still get wrecked for that. lol
@ladiesunited
@ladiesunited 19 дней назад
I agree with this breakdown. May I ask you a question. Why do you think kendrick went so hard on drake's dysfunctional upbringing about his absent father when his upbringing was a lot worst. It's very clear there is trauma on both sides.
@Doomer253
@Doomer253 18 дней назад
@@ladiesunited I believe Kendrick is trying to 'Reform' or 'Re-establish' the cultural norms within HipHop. (MCs not using Ghostwriters, Not faking identity, don't steal other artists work, being in community with the originators of the art i.e. Black people etc...) Drake is counter to the things Kendrick values in HipHop. I don't think Kendrick really cares about Drake's personal life other than to show a contrast between the two. With Rap Beef you use any weakness your opponent has. Aubrey got a lot of them unfortunately.
@Kneekco
@Kneekco Месяц назад
I think there are two most likely scenarios: 1. Things started with Kendrick wanting to say some competitive lines, saying he’s not in the same league with J Cole and Drake because he’s above them in a league of his own. Then Kendrick was prepared for the tracks to go 2 ways. If Drake hadn’t brought up his financè Whitney, then questioned whether Kendrick was the actual biological father of his child and if it was really his managers kid or whatever, the disses would have stayed more about rap and families wouldn’t have been involved the way they were. But Kendrick either expected Drake to go there or he really did have inside info that Drake was going to go there, which made him prepare a more violating diss track about families than Drake’s 2.He legitimately hates Drake, thinks he is a bad plague on the hip hop community, or Kendrick actually heard a lot of bad stuff about Drake from reputable sources, or for whatever other reason there might be; the whole time it was Kendrick baiting Drake to a diss battle so he could permanently damage or at least stain his career, which he’s done an amazing job of so far to be fair…

Listen to early Cole, his first name was The Therapist. Listen to tracks like "Let Nas Down", "Heavens Ep", he has always been a guy without much ego. His clothing switch up after 2013 symbolized this. His biggest criticism is his willingness to peace and introspection. More of a pacifist.

That one part you’re talking about in the “Mother I Sober” song is about the past treatment of African American Slaves and how the slave owners abused them. “They raped our mothers, then they raped our sisters, they made us watch. Then they made us watch each other, psychological torture between our lives. We ain’t recover, still living as victims” Because of Slavery many black families are still dealing with certain generational trauma and PTSD that we need to heal from. Please Play the song back and listen close to that part and y’all probably understand he is not saying that it happened to him but he understands where much of the behavior stems from.

Kendrick laid out his angles and what routes he was willing to go with Drake in Euphoria. Which is a very layered diss record. When he mentions Drake was going to use the family angle because he heard Mr Morale (which is Kendrick most personal album) he already knew Drake was going to bring Whitney into the matter. He basically was telling Drake throughout the record keep it friendly competition or i will tell people truths about you, you dont want getting out. The line about (have you ever) paying 250 k to an open case was not only in reference of the sexual abuse case Drake settled over seas but is the penalty someone may pay to breaking an NDA as well as one year imprisonment. It is believed Kendrick has information on an alleged child of Drake that is behind an NDA. It is said he pays 15,000 a month to the mother. Those payments stop when the child turns 18 (basically child support) the mothers payments however dont stop. She is not allowed to tell her son/daughter that their father is Drake. Drake will have no contact with that child or mother etc. That is what has been circling around Kendrick camp etc. Kendrick in 6.16 in LA was warning to Drake, that is why he was saying a prayer during the song it was him going into war knowing that Drake was about to make one of his biggest music mistakes by dropping Family Matters. Kendrick retatilated by dropping "Meet the Grahams" than a day later "Not like Us". Also Drake was sending bounties out in LA, Atlanta and Chicago to find dirt on Kendrick. He did the same thing to Pusha T. Kendrick putting his hands on Whitney is a fake story, Kendrick never beat his wife. Drake got that from a story years ago that was debunked. Dave Free did not father any of Kendricks kids, Akademics who is close to Drake already came out and said Drake lied. Dave Free is actually collobarating with Kendrick on a South Park project and was recently with on a Chanel project. Whitney was with Kendrick in Newyork and is back with kendrick in LA she never left him during the entire ordeal. She stayed silent because it wasnt her place to speak up on the allegations. Never give power to lies that is one thing Drake did not do in the hearts part 6. Drake was ready for the battle he wasnt ready for the war and he lost.

J. Cole made the best move, eventually, but let's not forget that he willingly allowed himself to be utilized by Drake to go after and trigger Kendrick. He went at Kendrick twice before coming to his senses. Now, J. Cole has emerged looking clean, but he was a part of stoking Kendrick's shadow side out into the light and that's an interesting aspect of this volcanic battle that's being overlooked by many. It makes me look at J. Cole with a smidge of suspicion. Yes, he's taking accountability, but for what, exactly?

Im not saying whatever allegations that were put on drake are false neither im saying its true. I'm totally conflicted at the moment. But this whole thing really feels like how Micheal Jackson was put to an end after he signed his big record deal which never came on news but was paying big amount for all the allegations put against him so that labels can recover all the money they invested in by playing some tricks and owning everything they had after they're gone. I'm talking about the 400M's drake signed to ifykyk. Everyone has dirt on them it only brought to light after some conflicts though.

I agree with most of what was said about kendrick but in addition to Drake I think he acts the way he does because he has a large chip on his shoulders. I think he believes that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves so he has a fuck everyone attitude which comes off as arrogance. He also suffers from identity issues of not being accepted. He says countless amount of times that he isn't white enough for white people and he's not black enough for black people. He definitely needs to solve those identity issues.

I think you’re spot on man. I think since Drake has been in entertainment since he was a kid, there’s a lot of strange interactions from his past between adults and children, just cause of how different people in general treat young stars. So I think there’s definitely some lines being blurred in how he interacts with young adults due to his life. I also think Kendrick, has been around and seen a lot of evil and moments of desperations out of people due to being raised in Compton. You can tell that he escaped Compton through creating stories and focusing on art, at first glance you see that Kendrick is an abstract type of person, someone who delves into the depths of simplicity and absorbing the science. And I also agree on your Jcole theory, he seems like he loves both artists and is a fan of both and also doesn’t want any issues or drama cause he is such a fan of the art and the artists.

Kendrick started this in his Control verse in 2013. He took shots at his peers, by name, and said they weren't on his level. Drake took offense. They tried to spin it as Kendrick just trying to bring competitiveness back to Hip-Hop, but disrespect is disrespect. If you consider someone a friend, and then they go on a record and insult you in front of the world, it's going to upset you. Kendrick then sneak dissed Drake in a BET Cypher. They've sneak dissed back and forth for 10 years. Kendrick's last album undersold, and people were starting to say he was falling off. Drake is Drake. And Cole was starting to become the top dog. Everyone was going crazy over everything he released. Over the years, Drake tried, over and over, to make peace with Kendrick. Drake and Cole wanted Kendrick to be on the song First Person Shooter, but Kendrick refused. So, I have a hard time following the crowd in supporting Kendrick. I love his music, but he seems extremely insecure and childish. In the past, people dissed because of real street issues. Tupac thought Biggie and Diddy set him up to get robbed, and he was shot. That's a real reason to diss. Not just to prove you're better. Also, for context on the 17-year-old, Drake was 23. He was new to stardom, and it was in Colorado, where the legal age of consent is 17. I'm not saying it was ok, but it's a little different than an older man with a minor. And I feel like people are glossing over the possibility of Kendrick beating his girl. If true, that's serious. It could be abuse and traumatizing on his kids. Kendrick, his girl or Dave Free, have denied anything Drake has accused. For some reason, nobody seems to care. He was also accused of beating a woman, years ago. He said he didn't do it, so everyone is just acting like he wouldn't lie. Even though he's lied throughout this beef. He contradicts himself several times in the disses. He said he hates how Drake sneak disses, but he started the sneak dissing and has been doing it for 10 years. Then, on one song, he's saying how much he hates Drake and everything about him. The next song he says he should d*e, and later in the same song says there's not a hating bone in his body. No matter what, he exposed himself as a liar. That's why I've switched to Drake's side in the beef. This is just my opinion on this situation.
