They can fake an injury or blame mental health and sit for months which only ends up hurting the franchise in return. It’s almost always a lose lose situation for owners now of days. Think about it. Kd signed an extension then tried to force a trade. Had he been stubborn and sat until he was traded the Nets franchise would’ve been in shambles if T’sai didn’t put his ego aside and compromise. Players complained themself into power and it’s terrible for the league because the players want to play with their friends and that’s it. They don’t build teams anymore they recruit. They literally said from day one they didn’t need a coach. When your star guard is running secondary practices without you, it's a sign they're doing their own thing. Nash, if given the opportunity, will prove whether he can coach or not if he's given a chance at some team that's rebuilding....that doesn't have players at diva level star status.
