I was shocked the day i travelled from Kano int'l airport with Egypt Air, they wrote my boarding pass with pen....i never closed eyes till we landed. Ethiopians provided this aircraft to help the minister pull their Nigeria Air scam so Ethiopian Airlines officials have some questions to answer. Ethiopian Airlines is lucky that Nigerian leaders are corrupt because that's the only reason they will get away with this insult on patriotic Nigerians.

The only way to run a successful Air line is to leave in hands of particular area if I may suggest Akwa Ibom / Cross Rivers for running and major administrative offices thy have strength in that area Nigeria should start understanding the strength of their adversities.

Some of the exchanges I read here, especially those semi literate economics trumpeting "healthy" competition and blaming Mr Obioha are some of the reasons one wonders if Nigeria is qualified to answer a country. Even as it stands now, Ethiopian airlines, a semi- public giant backed by the government of the second most populous country in Africa is already operating as a domestic airline in Nigeria. Yes, it flies into Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Kano; but not a single Nigerian Carrier has landing rites in Ethiopia. Now, here comes the real "healthy" competition accordingly to the Aviation Minister and his supporters including brother Ibe earlier - ready? - It's now teamed up with the governments of the first and second biggest countries in Africa against patriotic Nigerian domestic carriers. Which economic text book taught you that that is what healthy competition looks like? Look around the world, countries, both large and small guard and protect their aviation sector jealousy, if for no other reason for the hundreds of the good paying jobs they creat and technological innovations that acrue from them. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not a real country. Why would those in charge care? After all, neither they nor their kits and kin have a genuinely patriotic stake in the Nigerian project. I bate you if they could have manufactured another Dangote, they would have been more rational in their actions; but can't if they believe doing so could benefit one or two Igbo men.
Ethiopian Airlines is a competent company founded in 1945 why not invest in this company for the benefit of all Africans . As a West Indian (Africa born in me) we as a people need to end the tribalism that hamper our march away from racism and colonialism. TWA was a mentor to Ethiopian Airways in 1945, let Ethiopian Airlines mentor the future Nigeria Airline Operators.

So what if the Nigeria air, airplane is wet-leased, the vital thing is that there will be a national carrier, that will make air travel more affordable to the masses. Nowhere in the ICAO law is it stipulated that a carrier must start with its own aircraft.
