He honestly looked really intimidated in this video. "Oh wow, that's cool.." *looks at guitar and wonders how she can play that while thinking to himself wow I wish i could play guitar* Nah I'm kidding. He wasn't bad but it just seemed like he was honestly intimidated by her playing.

I met this young gal after a Warpaint show Oct.2014 in San Francisco! After putting on a great show, Theresa and Stella came out to greet fans! Very down to earth and sweet!@4:47- 6:00 is one of the most beautiful simplistic melodies I've heard in music. I'm so glad to have met Theresa, chat with her, take a picture together & give her a copy of my bands demo all in one night. Only time will tell, hopefully she likes what she hears and contacts me so we can create some beautiful music in the near future!! Wish me luck!

TW does a really great atmospheric guitar. When the two guitars get going they really interlock, too. They're helped by the fact that Jenny Lee and Stella are so locked in, though. You can get away with a whole lot or sometimes even not play at all when you've got a really locked in rhythm section.

Probably the best advice Ive heard. I started out exactly that way and then abandoned it for a rigid musical theory approach thru classical and spanish guitar, and it took me years to get back to the creativity that comes from simply listening and exploring w out an agenda. Great advice.

i've been trying that too... i feel like i need a professional now just to help me with hand positioning and relaxing my left hand a bit, but other than that it's been great to try it for myself, a good thing to be learning music later than the usual (i'm 32) is that you have actualy learned how to take care of yourself and go after what you want

I really like her style and tone and guitar. I love my Mustang its was stamped Mar 8 1965 which was unique because CBS had bought Fender and that began Jan 1965 but it turns out the Mustangs made until May were same as pre 1965 parts and labor. CBS brought in the new model after May 65 with Cheaper parts and manufacture changes. I love the sound and feel I get from it as well as special knacks I take advantage of in my improv and riffs, vamps, and all that jazz

And on top of that I just have the biggest crush on Theresa Wayman. I've never seen a female more Beautiful than she is and I really mean that, not a Beyonce or any other Beauty Icon that society chooses.. That was kinda unnecessary to say in the RU-vid comments section but that's just how I feel about her and I couldn't help it. That's not even everything, I just caught myself... guitarists need to stop using the word 'weird' every time an altered note comes along, a #4 or b5 is not weird! #9 and b13 are not weird, they are valid musical expressions of mood and language and unlearned players like these guys, who may indeed be great musicians are doing a disservice to the up n coming musical community by going, 'oh my that's weird', when it's not fuckin weird, or strange, it's just a harmonic moment of beauty!
@guitaroable
@guitaroable 10 лет назад
OMG another female guitarist with a pretty face that noodles on the guitar like an advanced beginner .
@elephantricity
@elephantricity 10 лет назад
Technically, those notes don't exist naturally along the harmonic lines of an open string. Take an open A string for example. Hit the harmonic at the 12th fret, then cut it in half and hit that harmonic etc. You won't find any sharp or flat notes. I'm not saying they aren't relevant choices, but they DO sound weird to the untrained ear.
@Lanearndt
@Lanearndt 10 лет назад
@alex Padilla technically you sir are incorrect. The 'scale' induced by the overtone series is the Lydian b7. The overtone of the 7th partial (or so) is the #4 and the major scale as we know it to be is unnatural according to the overtone series. Cheers!
@oganon
@oganon 9 лет назад
Also self taught players gotta stop with the "well i don't know what i do, so when i play its special" implying that people who have theory knowledge are basically robots and cant have any soul.. just be modest and keep playing! and btw i am self taught:)

When I hear her sing I think "She'd make a great babysitter...put the kids right to sleep". Totally relate to what she said about listening to other people regurgitate chords rather than just finding notes that work. That's exactly how I play. I really like the whole discovery part in the creative process. And like she says, it's cool to hear these other guitarist play covers but at the same time it's disappointing because it's like, pre-digested playing, playing from rote instead of finding the note.
