It seems there's this faker called AbroadInJapan is trying to copy your style, he even stole your intro song and has his own series which is quite similar to your series Adventures Crosswise Nippon
Day 71 asking Adventure Crosswise Nippon to speedrun nearly every main temple in Tokyo!! He spedran a temple in a prefecture!! Small steps but we're getting there!!
I told you - he's slowly adapting and bending to our collective will.... though part of me still thinks he's speedrunning them and just not showing us out of pure spite ☹️
I tried that the other day at a Japanese "Oktoberfest" German style event. I think it's one of those Japanese ideas of foreign things. Rather like their Hub "British Pub" chain, it's nice but not terribly authentic if you're from the original place!
well... for $15 you're not going to eat the best Kobe beef. The time I did in America it cost me around $70 for a small pieHAVE YOU CONSIDERED SPEED RUNNING EVERY SINGLE TEMPLE IN TOKYO?!
yeah... you kind of need to know where to get the good Kobe wagyu, and perhaps that is not it. That said, it is still very expensive and is it worth it? I'd say for the taste of good Kobe Wagyu yes, but money to quantity no.
When you get back to Tokyo, I’m begging you to go to the Tori Cafe (owl cafe) in Yanaka. The owls are awesome and (because I asked very nicely) the staff let me pet a hawk! ❤
Thank you for visiting Kobe as it's one of my favourite cities in all of Japan and one that definitely has more than four great spaces for sightseeing :) There is also a list of official sellers of Kobe Beef to look up, especially when considering getting "the real" beef. The percentage of Wagyu Beef that actually gets to be sold under the name of Kobe Beef is quite strictly regulated. I don't want to be that person but Nunobiki Herb Gardens, The Mt Rokko Observatory as well as Maya Observatory are not the same but in fact three different cable car or gondola routes and the latter two are way higher up the mountain and offer a view of all of the Osaka and Kobe Bay area. The most stunning and well known of the historical houses were not among those three but one should rather visit Weathercock, Moegi and Uroko House 🥹 it's a beautiful and historically important city, known for it's beef of course but also confectionery, patisserie and fine dining as well as it's large China Town and lively Port Area :) I highly recommend Suma Beach and Ikuta Shrine as well!
I'm not deep into the Mudan lore....but why gluten free places? You've said gluten free bread isn't the same [ref. to melon pan] so why keep seeking it out?
Kind of late to the party, however if you drop by Osaka again, try to visit Fanny Mae in Namba. It's a rather cozy rock bar, run by a lady that knows her rock music. Good drinks and good music are a sure bet after a day of eating things in Osaka. Also there is a jazz bar in the same building called Bird/56. A nice place to chill after a long day and sip whisky.
Nice watching this as a Kobe resident. Kobe feels like one of those cities where it is more a good place to live than a tourist city. Within an hour's JR train ride you can visit several mountain observatories, the countryside, the beach in Suma, several traditional small towns including an Onsen Town, Himeji Castle and Osaka. You always have somewhere new to check out. There is a direct train to Nara too from Sannomiya that has a very photogenic route over the mountains east of Osaka. I'd still recommend Kobe if you're visiting Kansai and have a few days to spare. It's a good example of a normal Japanese city rather than Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto where you will see endless tourists. Great food, great nightlife, a nice little Chinatown, Kitano, one of Japan's oldest shrines (not the one in this video) amongst a few other things are worth seeing.
Day 34 of asking Mudan to start in a random area of tokyo and compete with babysitter and foxie to see who can find the most small hidden shrines in the backalleys and rooftops of tokyo in a day!
The ear infection at the fragrance museum gave me some flashbacks. Jelly Belly made Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter. HTF did they taste test earwax?!
