For one month every year, millions of tourists descend on Luoping County in southwest China's Yunnan Province to see its vast ocean of rapeseed, or canola flowers. In this episode, Travelogue host Tianran He discovers how these little yellow blossoms have created an entire multi-million dollar industry.
‘Qujing County’ is the final episode of Travelogue’s 10-part series, ‘The Pearl River: Mouth to Source’. Travelogue is a 30-minute features programme on CGTN that takes viewers on unforgettable adventures across China. It airs on Sundays at 7:30am and 4:30pm BJT (00:30 & 09:30 GMT), with rebroadcasts on Mondays at 2:00am (Sunday 19:00 GMT) and Thursdays at 1:30pm (06:30 GMT).

With modern machinery, it's easy to forget the ancient craft of producing oil, or of making lime, or of weaving, etc., a thing that can be said about a myriad of other hand-made products. Preserving the traditional methods of production is advantageous, especially if there shall every come a time when people cannot buy machine-made products, or the supply of electricity can no longer be had.

The Secret to natural beauty is water. And China has inexhaustible supply of river water and mountainous regions. Mostly are untapped and uninabited. This video captures a glimpse of what China has to offer and much more to our imaginations! The views are extra spectacular! Your vision is far reaching (talking about the rural regions). As if a billion people is not enough to populate the vastness of China.

For sure this method of extracting rapeseed is best unlike the way it's done in Canada where their GMO rapeseed is called canola oil.

A very well narrated documentary & am sure he must have had western education & spent time in touring western countries for some time before this. The flow of his English comes naturally. Hardly could find such good Chinese narrator in English without the mandarin slang like some that I came across doing such documentary in China itself. Kudos to him.

My mother used to tell me she had a very suffered birth labor, l was not very decided to come to the world, now you might realize why, poor me. Next to this terror l kept in my bones since l left my mother's womb, l think that event gave my brain some kind of special input because l see things that nobody else can see. Most of the times l wait in purpose to see anyone fix things. ..but nobody is that lucky. When l came to the world, my parents were not capable to agree on which name to decide for me. I trully have to remind this because still now, Melania is my Father's daughter, following an ancient tradition to pick up a family relative's name, Melania was one of my Father's aunt that she was a religious nun and l am really obsessed of Faith matters, its a sign like the Chinese zodiac, fate is decided and you can not get away of what was decided for you to be. Monica was a cinema star, wish you enjoy the ltalian Monica Vitti movies, it was a fashion trend back in the '60s, since then, nothing is impossible for me, my mother raised me up like.. any daughter deserves, anything l want is possible, no chances for me to give up, the word impossible for me do not exist fans, there are three huge monsters within l have to manage and you can not imagine what a huge job to do, yeah, you can not escape fate, nope
