In this video, I show you how to make the perfect chocolate brownies!
INGREDIENTS:
(Makes 9 super thick brownies or 16 thinner brownies)
Chocolate (1 cup, 226g)
Butter (1 1/4 cups, 275g)
Cocoa powder (3/4 cup, 96g)
Coffee (1 tbsp)
Salt (1 tsp)
Eggs (6 large)
White sugar (fine) (2 1/4 cups, 450g)
Brown sugar (1/2 cup, 90g)
Vanilla (1 tsp)
Flour (1 cup, 145g)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Chop up your chocolate and add to a metal or glass bowl along with your butter, cocoa powder, coffee, and salt.
2. Place this over a simmering pot of water and constantly whisk until totally melted and smooth (YOU CAN ALSO MELT THE BUTTER SEPERATELY AND POUR OVER THE OTHER INGREDIENTS)
3. Add your eggs, sugars, and vanilla to a large bowl and start beating with a hand mixer.
4. Keep mixing for around 8 minutes or until the mixture has doubled in volume and has the consistency of pancake batter.
5. Pour in your melted chocolate mixture and keep mixing with the hand mixer until totally combined.
6. Add in your flour and gently fold it into your batter making sure that no air escapes the mixture.
7. Preheat your oven to 180 c and get your baking pan ready. Grease it with some softened butter and place your baking paper into it. Pour your batter in and level the top.
8. Place it in the middle of your oven for around 45 minutes to an hour. The thicker your brownies, the more time they will take. Mine took a little over an hour.
9. Remove from your oven and let them rest for at least 20 minutes in the pan. I also recommend you let them rest in the fridge for another 20 minutes to make sure they're easier to cut into and the fudgy centers are fully set.
10. Cut into equal squares and serve either cold or warm.
