Floral Healing isnt the same as Heal Pulse, it has a secondary effect that Showdown didnt show for some reason. It usually heals for 1/2 of the target's HP, but if you use on Grassy Terrain, it gets boosted to 2/3 instead

Bastiodon could absolutely get Body Press this gen, it's only not listed as having it in Showdown because it wasn't in Gen 8, where Body Press was introduced. Also, before anyone points it out, Probopass & Regigigas learned it naturally in BDSP, Body Press was not a TM in those games.

Whimsicott is gonna be cool to use, at least in lower tiers in Smogon. Encore, Cotton Guard, Memnto, Cotton Spore, etc. with U Turn. That and Sub Seed Shenanigans all around. xD

I ran the metagross calc vs. chi-yu heat wave 252 SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Chi-Yu Heat Wave vs. 220 HP / 148 SpD Assault Vest Metagross: 152-182 (83 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO you literally HAVE to run a +spdf nature if you don't want to dump almost 150 evs into your spdf to deal with specs chi-yu. or just use a rain team if you don't wanna commit ur tera idk

I know everyone is dreading Incineroar's return, but I like him a lot just for his design and I am looking forward to using mine. I also fully expect Incineroar to have access to Raging Fury. Incineroar learns a lot of "Thrash" moves naturally, so why wouldn't he learn the Fire-type version? That's something to look out for over Flare Blitz.

I’m still excited for the Sniper Kingdra Scope Lens set with Focus Energy, it’d be Regulation A Hydreigon but it hits even harder with Sniper boosts. Probably not better than the typical Swift Swim but it’s a thought.

Marcus, I'm afraid to tell you that Timid Swift Swim Kingdra is still slower than Booster Energy Iron Bundle, by 9 points. It can still be good under Tailwind, though, or next to a Thunder Wave Grimmsnarl

I know it’s not been revealed yet, but the Entei paradox is going to be super good in my opinion. Protosynthesis on a fire type who’s already going to be better in sun, and a Fire/Dragon type is only weak to rock and ground if I’m correct. Of course it might not be legal in VGC but still.

I love that Entei is returning, but for it to see play it's going to need to find another Niche because H-Arcanine fills the fire Espeeder role but better than Entei will due to Rock STAB

Here’s my take on smeargle. I don’t think it will be nearly as good as most people are saying it’s gonna be in regionals settings. I feel like one thing smeargle had behind it in previous gens was the element of surprise, no ots meant it could literally run anything and win you games off of surprise techs. I think that now with OTS it’s a lot harder to run because now your opponent knows exactly what it’s gonna do and how to possibly prevent it. In Global challenges however, I feel like smeargle will be a big as it always has been whenever it was allowed in previous generations.

Araquanid is probably my number one returning mon I am hyped for. I know string shot would be more popular because it hits both targets for a two stage drop but pounce would be a way to avoid taunt while keeping some speed control, lunge and skitter smack are ways to decrease incoming damage and it is the second best water attacking mon in any non restricted format because water bubble is a busted ability. I think he's going to thrive with Tera around

Even without Dynamax I can't wait for the return of Bulldoze Raikou with WP Solgaleo (guess you can use Metagross too). One of my favorite sets to run. AV Raikou with Thunderbolt, Snarl, Bulldoze and Volt Switch

+1 Bundle outspeeds Kingdra in Rain by 9 unfortunately, so does Flutter. Although they don't run max Speed anymore, but I think especially against Flutter Kingdras still gonna suck, im gonna assume Kingdra does not OHKO Flutter with anything bar Choice Specs (Even then I don't think so) and is still gonna take a clean 50% form Shadow Balls. I think the Bundle Matchup with Tera Steel is probably fine, but I see little hope against Flutter Mane. Kingdra seriously needs some Power to it, it feels like a BST 500 Mon to me. EDIT Fucking Rush Excadrill in Sand is outsped by Bundle by 1. LMAO At least it outspeeds Flutter by 1. (With positive Matchup anyway KEKW)

I was thinking smeargle with Hisuian Zoroark would be kind of wild even. In open team sheet. Since H Zoroark is immune to fake-out and can actually hit pretty hard and fast (especially next to Chi-Yu) it can bait fake outs or taunts and blow things up.

🤔 could have sworn that 1.5x booster bundle/flutter outsped kingdra in rain ... may have been confusing with the life orb 80(?)HP set with 180+ speed EVs. they still ohko without tera though which is a serious problem for kingdra enjoyers. tera steel resist all 3 weaknesses (fairy, dragon, 4x freeze dry), benefits from the rain, and also boosts flash cannon if you feel like running it for vs fairy (i really wish speed booster energy was 1.3x like the rest of the stats)

I think people are underestimating Reuniclus... Psyshock is huge because it absolutely RAVAGES Flutter Mane and doesn't particularly care about Assault Vest on Iron Hands. Tera Fairy helps it defensively while Tera Water also gives it more offensive coverage with Tera Blast.

Incineroar and Whimscott was my favorite lead in doubles. I am excite.

flying tera metagross could probably work out alright too, lose the ground weakness, neutral to the rest of your weak moves and bullet punch and (almost definitely) earthquake will scare off any ice electric or rock lads

Incineroar may very well see the decline of Brian Hands not just because of Intimidate, but Hands is one of the handful of 'mons that the Heel naturally outspeeds meaning it can just Parting Shot in its face leaving it a -2 any time they face off and no, Clear Amulet isn't a fix to that as without Assault Vest it loses its trademark mixed bulk leaving it much more vulnerable to Flutter and Friends

Metagross with Tera sounds nice. They murdered my boy when they removed steel resists to ghost and dark. He was never the same after.
