A Bon Jovi concert had so much fun energy. Jon was all over the stage giving all he had at every concert I went to. I can’t imagine having that energy night after night doing sold out concerts all over the country. Everyone left feeling good and strangers were suddenly friends when you walked out talking, singing and smiling. Suddenly sitting in traffic waiting to get out of the huge parking lot was fun because the car next to you also had their BonJovi cassette tape playing and you were still having fun.
My daughter too. She wore a Jovi Kid shirt. She's 32. I kept her home from school and Al Roker interviewed her. The teacher said the next day "Did you enjoy Bon Jovi at the Today Show?" Snagged! Lol

That sound your talking about is made by the guitar player using an effect called a talk box. Its hooked up to the amplifier & is worked by a plastic tube the guitarist puts in the side of his mouth and that's the sound it makes together. You can see him doing it. Some hip hop songs like California Love have that effect also but not hooked to a guitar.
Besides Jon the only two I know are Tico Torres on drums and Ritchie Sambora on lead guitar. Ritchie is one of the few rock guitarists to use a Fender Telecaster as his main weapon.

The lead singer is Jon Bon Jovi(Obviously, the band is named after him, of course.) as lead vocal's, Richie Sambora(No longer in the band. And, that unique sound you heard, was what he call's his "Talk Box", as he created it to alter the sound of his guitar, as he play's it, he either blow's or suck's on it, to create that one-of-a-kind sound.) as lead guitar & backing vocal's, David Bryan as the keyboardist & backing vocal's, Tico Torres on drum's and backing vocal's(Occasionally, lead vocal's, but not for this song.) & Alec John Such as Bass guitarist & backing vocal's. BTW, for Mel? I thought you might wanna know, that Jon don't look like he aged, more than 10 year's, since this video came out, other than the different hairstyle, of course.(LOL) You should check out damn near all of their song's. My wife and I started out with nothing!!! We were just teens with a baby, and we made it!!! We worked so much, so hard!!! I remember 1995, my wife and I worked 161 hours between us just to make us happen. A few years later, we bought a brand new 1997 Ford Explorer, and a 1997 Dodge Intrepid for my wife, we were so proud!! We had those vehicles until 2014! Now we have a 27 year old daughter, and a 21 year old daughter, plus a 9 year old grandbaby. We made it from nothing!!! We sit on our front porch looking out on our lawn, and think, wow, we really did it!!!! Any kid who says it was easy can just sit right down and listen to us, and we will tell them that it was impossible. Impossible without GOD, and each other. Thanks!!!!

1987... Good times. They were huge. This song got them noticed (even though they had been around since 1983) Then came Wanted Dead or Alive which shot them to the moon. Then... right after them was the come back band of the decade, Def Leppard. The album Hysteria was everywhere and they were unstoppable. You should check them out too. I'd suggest Pour some sugar on me which I believe everyone has probably heard at least once.

I grew up on Bon Jovi, they have decades of great music 🎶 and a rabbit hole music to listen to! This song came off of The Slippery When Wet album! Every song on there is fantastic! Also on that album is Wanted Dead or Alive, You Give Love A Bad Name! I also recommend Bad Medicine, It’s My Life, Keep The Faith, Bed Of Roses, I’ll Be There For You and Always and that’s just a few but I really think you will love there music, hope you react to much more Bon Jovi!🤟🥰Rock on guys! It's nice to see an older couple discover different music genres they've never seen before and give them a chance and find out they really like it! You guys need to watch Alice in Chains! Their songs Would, Down in a Hole, l Stay Away, Nutshell, Bleed the Freak, Sea of Sorrow, Love Hate Love, there are sooo many A-M-A-Z-I-N-G songs by them! You got to give them a chance! The talk box? Yes. But Sambora was intent on putting that sound AND a 12 string on that record. You’re not wrong, but I just wanted to also give props to Bon Jovi for bringing that sound into the “hair metal” realm.
