It was supposedly because there was a chance LeBron was going to sign there, so the 6ers had to shed some money so they decided to trade down in the draft so they had enough money to potentially sign LeBron but he ended up signing with the lakers, if LeBron signed with the Lakers before the draft Bridges would’ve stayed on the 6ers
@@cdeleon3494 Simmons never really had the mentality to succeed long-term in the NBA it's not just 1 event that caused his downfall, it was always coming (not if but WHEN)
@@sting114 I wouldn’t compare the two, they play completely different basketball, it’s like comparing John Stockton to Allen Iverson, both great in their own right.
They have quite a lot of assets if they throw some 1sts D Lo, Rui, Gabe throw in Max Christie as a young prospect, I think thats even a win for the Hawks mainly because Trae wont lead them to anything and hes quite overrated based on how much of a liabillty he is on defense and his efficiency isnt the best either career 43% FG and 35% from 3 and 4+ TO. Ive seen stars get traded for way less and personally I wouldnt do this if I was a lakers GM because of the depth for a gamble.
@@SanctumROTMGI kinda do agree, that's hard to build a winning team with someone as lead player, who is basically just ridiculously high volume shooter, with questionable effiency and can't defend. Still having said that. Lakers probably don't have the assets to get it done. Not sure why should they even interested having another high volume, low efficiency guard after the Russ experiment.
@@konzza yea. lakers do not need a trae young on the team. they need to surround lebron and ad with some 3 and d wings and have ar and handle the bench
It’s very surprising that contending teams like the Warriors for example don’t try to either get both Finny Smith and Royce or just one of them. But maybe the Nets are asking for too much for them? IDK but alot of contending teams could use those 2 solid role players.
Itd be interesting to look at the teams that are middle of the pack, playoff teams trying to get a boost to be a contender. I feel like theres a lot of teams that feel like they're one savvy trade away from contension. All those teams are at least a season away from being competitive.
I think theres alot of teams in the league that could use bridges as the 3rd option and I think that the 76ers should absolutely trade for him or murray if they want to take is serious this year. I also wouldnt mind bridges as a heat fan hahaha
BKN will not trade Mikel to Sixers to any amount of picks. Last thing Brooklyn want to see is another case they gift wrap a talent like Tatum and Brown to an opponent team they gave picks to. HOU basically owns their picks till 2027 so either they gotta be average team or give top 10 picks and swaps till 27. Trading Bridges means they’re rebuilding and they’re not ready to do that
I'm surprised to hear you mention Terry Rozier as a trade candidate, but considering that the Hornets have been a bit of a disappointment this year I think this makes a lot of sense. As a fan I hope he finds more team success wherever he ends up.
I don't think Trae Young gets traded. At least not yet. But I often think about different places where he could get moved. There are a lot of off the radar places that are interesting to think about. Like imagine if he ended up in Utah with Lauri Markkanen. An elite playmaker with an elite play finisher who has size. His old buddy John Collins is there too lol.
Lakers aren't getting Trae Young. CP3 is playing better than Klay or Wiggins so both of them should go before CP3. None of them would be valuable trade chips so they're going to have to attach stuff in any of those trades.
Nope, their FRPs are not worth much since even Embiid leaves Philly they can get many pieces back with his trade and build around young Maxey to be least comparative enough to not give any top 10 picks
Should Denver offer MPJ and couple second rounds for Bridges ? Give up a little bit talent upsight for tons of durability. And prevent Sixers or Mavericks from getting him ?
I think it would be foolish for the Hawks to move on from Trae Young. I can't think of a single player the Hawks have ever signed or drafted that has achieved the type of franchise success Trae Young has accomplished for Atlanta. Dominique Wilkins is probably the only other player realistically. Moving on from Trae is basically cementing the Luka Doncic trade as the biggest fumble for a sports franchise in recent basketball history. Trae Young has proven with any roster that he can command a top 10 offense every season.. but in order to win games they have to prioritize surrounding him with respectable and consistent defenders who make up for his deficiencies (Almost like how the Warriors did for Steph Curry).
Agreed same philiosophy like the warriors had with Steph..but for some reason the hawks fail to have the knowledge on that they instead when ahead and brought on another defensively limited guard in Murray, that formula with the two are incomplete and require some lengthy 3 and D and stretch wing defenders to form something great but until they do that the team will just remain mediocre at best
@@yagotta2495 Boss that may be true but I'm talking about BIG body defenders bodies who can cover BIG bodies out ther on the court which Murray aint..sure he gets his steals here and there but overall the TYPE of defense the team requires what he gives in one man aint it, and those who TRULY know the game will agree and say the same
Portland did not want to be at least decent trying to trade for Deandre Ayton. They literally blew up the team to get draft picks, and tank. Sadly enough they signed Grant because Portland rarely gets players of his caliber in free agency and you still need players on your roster to have big contracts to match salaries in the future or else its hard to make legitimate trades. Portland needs to trade him.
Bruh, imagine the 76ers had someone like Bridges especially cuz in that draft he desperately wanted to be drafted by the 76ers. Imagine if they drafted him...................
Even with Embiid bounce after this season Sixer will be playoff team with Maxey, Bridges and load of assets they get from moving Embiid. Nobody in the league is stupid enough to trade for their FRPs
as a knick fan, have ANYTHING YOU WANT for Mikal bridges. 4 First rounders, Fournier, - if you want randle take him, you want Mitch rob take him, Grimes take him idc
I'm not even a trae young fan but this is a ridiculous take.I get the defensive aspect but you guys act like the league caters towards defense. Teams are scoring 120 on avg.
The Trae Young trade SHOULD NOT happen. Not because of any sort of loyalty, but because our front office (and owner) made major mistakes on selling off half of our team and not actually ever bringing in anybody to improve the glaring defensive issue after the eastern conference run. I'm mainly pointing to the Dejounte Murray trade, because despite what rumors say, he actually is a major defensive liability like Trae, if not worse this season, with out defensive rating going from ~100 in games he doesn't play to ~122 with him in. That being said, Trae's defense is actually really good this year, compared to other point guards in the league, so this commentary surrounding him doesn't fit as well anymore.
Indeed you're speaking facts my guy, it's all become a stereotype thing now when it comes to the defensive chatter on Trae..although yes he indeed may still lack a lot of sheer on-ball defense than the average defender he has picked up miles on his defense and as a matter of fact has now become top 10 in the league in steals
Unpopular opinion #2 I think they should trade Trae Young to the Knicks. Honestly, think about it. Ice trae would go from NY villain, to “our Villiain” in NY. The fans would love him; and I think they need a superstar with that kind of personality. The knicksbhavent been bringing in the right guys, not for a long time. And don’t get me wrong - Brunson is BaLlin’!! But I just think Trae is dangerous, and I think he’d fit right in at MSG.
Laker should trade for grant gove portland vando rui and then try to get Brooks by trading hood and either dlo or austin if they managed to get rid of dlo they would have to add 2029 pick
Jerami Grant to Golden State, Andrew Wiggins to Brooklyn, and Mikal Bridges to Portland. Let the teams sort out the picks and minor contracts to make it work but all 3 salaries are pretty close. And I think it helps all 3 teams - Brooklyn isn't tanking, Wiggins needs a bigger role than he has in GS. Bridges boosts Portland forward and takes pressure off Simons and Scoot, and Grant gives GS a legit 20 ppg guy to team with Kuminga and Moody as the next generation for Golden State.
CP3 and one first. Portland gets an expiring and a mentor for Scoot while getting rid of a 5 year bloated contract. Golden State gets a nice two way player to replace Pauls dead money without giving up Kuminga
here's a rlly underrated trade I think would work, Magic Recieve: Dejounte Murray Sadiq Bey (for salary) Atlanta gets: Johnathan Issac Markelle Fultz 1 or 2 first rounders
@@brandoni241 Issac provides Atl with more defense, Fultz is a good backup PG, they dump Murray's salary, and get similar assets compared to what they gave for Dejounte
@@sixers_fan21 Isaac's is injury prone, Fultz is as well. Bey is a much better offensive than Isaac and Fultz. I'm not even going to bring up how much better Murray is than both of them. Then the picks are going to be in the high 20s because the Magic are going to be even better than what they are right now. Plus, there are other teams that want Murray that can give better assets...
Blazers team needs to sell so they get a real owner, GM and coach…trades won’t help or hurt them cause their coach is beyond trash so he’ll just F it all up anyways.
I dont understand Brooklyn trading Bridges rumours at all... Its such a dumb move. They dont have their own picks this year and next year. Both this years being unprotected while next year goes through like 3 other teams before Brooklyn gets one of those 3 teams picks. They gain nothing by losing themselves. Even if you get a lottery pick, you trade the player who contributes most to winning and next year youre a worse team that still doesnt have their own pick lol. Unless theyre trading Bridges to San Antonio or Detroit for unprotected firsts this year and/or next year, theyre not gaining much by aquiring at best a mid first pick for him. They quite literally have no incentive to trade him, all theyd be doing is giving other teams a higher pick because they were once again, in a matter of 10ish years, stupid enough to trade unprotected firsts far into the future for players that didnt work out. They already lost out on Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Best thing they can do is make a playoff push without giving up additional picks. Theyre still in the play-in picture. Its a wasted couple of years imo in Brooklyn, but dont make the next 2 years absolutely terrible for the fans and the organization by losing a crap ton of games just to see your pick and misery be cashed in by another team. Win as many games as possible because why the F*** not at this point. So dumb. Any pick youd get from most teams whod want Bridges for their playoff aspirations is not worth the tank with no lottery pick at the end of the tunnel.
I don't think that it's something that Brooklyn needs to do right now. But it's something they probably need to do eventually. They're in a similar situation to Utah. You can't begin a build by paying players like Lauri Markkanen or Mikal Bridges the max and hope to ever win a title out of it. It's just not going to happen. Now Utah is at that decision point right now because Markkanen is likely getting that extension this summer. Looks like Utah is going to make the mistake. Brooklyn probably has one more year. Deadline in 25.
The Hawks are fucked. Trae can be a first option only on a very good team. He would need 2 other really good players to complement him. Funny enough, I think that both Siakam and OG would've been great with him. Good physicality and defense to compensate for Trae. The Hawks do not have anything to offer to get what Trae would need, let's blow it up.
Been saying that about Trae, it simply won't work too much has to go right, there's no dude you can trade to the hawks and say yeah they're contenders, and to those idiots saying he's better defensively stop being delusional. Mediocre d to mediocre D plus with the way the league shifting you gotta be 6'4+ and if you small you gotta be a crazy defensive contributer like Alverado or you gotta be that perfectly well rounded
Fun fact Trae is top 10 in the league in steals and this is his first season with that rank..now you tell me he aint been makin improvements on his D to achieve that without telling me he hasn't been making improvements boss
Lakers wouldn’t even have enough to get Trae Young though. They’ve got Austin Reeves and a first round pick lmaooo. That ain’t it 😂. Spurs would have a much better package than LA
That contract doesnt match what he contributes lol.....Any team that trades for him is insanely stupid. They can get his production for half the price Portland paid him somewhere else. If anyone gives up assets for him, theyre screwing their financial flexibility going forward and that makes most deals for him idiotic at best.
Doesn’t make much sense when you consider new CBA rule will kick in by the time Bridges contract is over and it coincide with the year Chet will be extension eligible. They won’t be able to keep SGA, Chet, JW and Giddy but how do you think they gonna keep Bridges who will ask for max?
What's that? The Hawks have a good player? Surely they are so stupid they will trade said player for peanuts and 2nd rounders right? Caus they're dumb?
OMG I'm not a big fan of LeBron or the Lakers but if Trey Young is the one they believe in, they're doomed and everybody in L.A. should rather support the Clippers😅 Trey is one of those guys...get rich, have fans, do your thing...but do it elsewhere😂
As a Nets fan, would you trade Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Cam Thomas or Lonnie Walker for DG? In theory, it fixes both teams, the Nets get a young, All-Star caliber PG to build around and the Cavs get a SG that fits perfectly along side Donovan Mitchell.
@@johnpatricksoltes5459That would be pretty awesome. We probably would have to move Rubio’s contract and a few other small contracts to make the money work. The only reason for my initial comment is because as much as I love both DG and Mitchell, they are an awkward fit defensively.
Tucker your videos for a while now are all trade possibilities lmaooo are you getting tired of covering current teams / players? Like players to watch out for / breaking out or players that were expected to do good but currently disappointing... Come on now
Clippers trade Pj Tucker, Bones, and Mann and a second round pick for Mikal Bridges PG: Harden/Westbrook SG: Mikal/Powell SF: P George/Coffey PF: Khawi/Theis C: Zubac/Plumlee 🏆
Dame screwed the Blazers bigtime. He met with management the week before free agency started and never told them he wanted out. That's the only reason they gave Grant that terrible contract, it was to placate Dame, who then screwed them.
