Another trick for catching flying springs is working inside a clear plastic bag. Spring will be retained and you can still see what you're doing.

Just installed some of these scales on my AD20.5. I went with the black scales. I ordered these after I originally watched your video. I am very glad I did. The knife is so much better feeling. Thanks

the scales were so disappointing when my 20.5 showed up. I replaced then with a set of original goat scales and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Awesome your able to do that!!!

Which scales did you have orginally before swapping out for the original goat scales? I'm wondering if I can swap out for titanium goat scales with both the original factory Taiwanese titanium and also the carbon fiber version from knife center??

@@jimmycricket7946 I had the same scales that he replaced today. They were those cheap plastic scales that were paper thin. I replaced them with a set of titanium for original goat. If you need a 10% discount lmk and ill send it over to you Jimmy. I'm pretty sure as long as it's a 20.5 you can swap to any scales set original goat has. I just found out about the scale company today he had in the video. I had no idea taht company existed until today. I'm on the Goat band wagon though because there products are just A1 everytime I've ordered from them. I've purchased a few back spacers as well as a few sets of scales from them and there workmanship is tits!

I have black burlap micarta scales by RippsGarageTech on my 3v 20.5 and it upgrades the feel of the knife completely! Couldn't be happier

I was waiting for the flytanium scales, but I cracked and went with original goat for some brass scales and back-spacer… 10 times better than the grivory scales. I’ll probably snag the flytanium thumb studs when they come to Canada though.

Lottle more expensive, but Blade Scales make an amazing g10. Lol i was in an hotel room for the swap, spring shot out and lost for about 20 min. Youngest son found it across the room in the hotel wastebasket. Got lucky!

I bought titanium scales with a titanium backspacer. I also ordered a 3 pack of springs just for good measure. The knife feels MUCH more premium.

Yeah I bought one as soon as they came out and the day I got it I placed an order with karbidize and ordered fat carbon scales and back spacer

Question: Why does everyone rave about how wonderful this knife is, and then change the scales, and the clip, etc? (Not just this one, but PM2's and others as well?) By the time one spends the dosh on the knife, and then kits out the AD 20.5 with "better" bits and pieces, one could have bought an AD 20! Yes, I realize personalization is a part of the knife life... just musing on the ideas surrounding the "fixing" of a "fantastic knife" (others words, not necessarily yours). Thanks for the vids Mr M Complex! I love your talkative style :)

The black Demko G10 (on knife center) have a finer texture though I like the texture on these better, based on what I am seeing. The nice thing is Demko scales allow for installing barrel spacers (steel or titanium) which looks better to me. I’m guessing these will too.

Cool, a Demko Salt knife. Right on. Wait, wait, wait… you mean the color doesn’t make it rustproof? You’re messing with my mind man. Doesn’t matter. I see it’s got a lanyard hole so everything is ok. By the time i get a lanyard on it and put it in a slip cover it will all be good. That clip ought to fit the slip cover just about right.

Did your scales come with the two silver screws to cover the clip holes on the show side? Mine didn't. Just sent Flytanium a message to see if I can get them. I put blue g10 scales, purple ti backspacer and purple thumbstuds on mine. Getting the existing thumbstuds off was insanely difficult. Heated them up with a hair blower but there was no way I could keep a hold of the non-slotted thumbstud. Pliers just kept slipping off. I ended up using a crimper tool and squeezing it with all I had and finally was able to unscrew it. The new thumbstuds were a breeze getting on because they're T6 on both sides.

As good as the shark lock is the only reason i even bought an ad 20.5 is cause im awaiting my transparent knives reblade for it in magnacut cant wait will be oh so much better!!! Best scales hands down is original goat scales!🤙👊

Demko has their own factory scales available at KnifeCenter.

Victorinox make that color on some of their blades, glow in the dark. Most cool. I keep a SAK in the bathroom drawer, to trim me mustacioso!

They had these in the works for so long that a Tallahassee based company started after them and beat them to it with aluminum and eventually titanium scales and then demko brought out the new ad20.5 with the nicer pivot screws and V3. I doubt these flytanium scales are going to sell well even though they are cheap. These are 1 year too late

What do you think of the Knifecenter exclusive with CF scales? It has the nicer pivot than the grivory handles have.

U see I was thinking the same thing. I was considering about getting the cf version since it's 3v and has the nicer pivot design feature instead of that dumb screw. But I'm wondering if you can swap out for titanium orginal goat scales or even these flytanium scales in the video. I'm not sure if the cf version in 3v has liners or not. I know mc mentioned that these particular yellow scales can only be swapped out with ad20.5's that have liners.
