The truth is, most anglers are terrible at sight fishing! If you aren't paying attention to subtle details, you're almost wasting your time trying to sight fish in Spring. Pay attention to these tricks because they make all the difference! Whether you're bed fishing or sight fishing on flats, how you position, dress, and behave, has a huge impact before you even make a cast!

Those anglers that pay attention to details, to boat positioning, and to their lures, catch more and bigger bass every Spring. I fish along canal banks, this time of year is when the big girls start showing themselves in the shallows or up high in the water column… so the type of fishing I do this time of the year is very fast pace. I literally cruise along the bank in my car and when I see a biggin I don’t stop right in front of that fish, I pull up about 20yrds then get out (make sure not let my shadow touch the water) and look for details if the bass is aware I’m there or not, then I make long cast and bring my bait in so that the bass sees it the whole time, sometimes they will spook and swim off if you reel a bait from behind them.. sometimes if they swim off I’ll just keep making the same cast along the bank with a fire red chatter bait and usually they come back even more mad… it truly is like hunting for game on land, you gotta be stealthy. Sorry for the long story just wanted to share my way of catching big springtime bass with out a boat😊

Went fishing yesterday, for the first time in months, on the CA Delta. Caught nothing but feelings. 😂 This is my 2nd season at pre spawn fishing ever. I saw 30-40 fish in the shallows (between 2-5 feet at low tide) along Bethel Island). They either chased then gave up, come to the bait and inspect, or just not even phase by them. I guess I’m going back and apply these methods. Thank you.

thank you for this video. I am a bow hunter in October, thats when I get camo, silent and deadly. I didn't think of it while on the kayak. I'm beating and banging paddle and lure boxes, quiet is key. I also didn't know boat positioning. the wind positions me sometimes and its' the wrong angle. you can be in the wrong position and still be silent.

I like your sunglasses. Just the fact that they’re wide is a huge plus. The only other brand i wear are Leopold. Just a little more dressy and I like that the polarization is sandwiched in between the lenses.

Tim they are spawning in my lake... two nights ago we got 6 inches of rain and the water was above peoples boat docks. Do they abonded the beds or what usually happens? My best spots were the creeks that got flooded first are they gonna pull out of them?

I have to admit I was hesitant on making the jump from the normal Eye Surrender glasses to the Tactical ones but I do feel like they have cut down on haziness from my breath or warm skin during cold weather and the fact that O have a bit thicker of lenses to protect my eyes is nice to have. I cannot honestly compare any other qualities of each dude to the fact that I have each in different lense colors which may affect things. I have compared my original ESE’s against other polarized glasses and there seems to be a bit less glare not only looking forward but especially in my peripheral vision.

Also I’d add that as far as clothing goes it is not necessarily the best blend in with the sky but to blend in with what you will be seen against by bass. I fish from shore and a lot of the areas I fish have trees and vegetation along the shore so I personally wear a lot of real tree camo hoodies, masks and even gloves. Camo not available it’s always better to dress bland colors that blend in with your backdrop, which may mean wearing light grays or whites to match cloudy skies if your fishing bare banks or from a boat under those conditions.

I had a crazy series of events with a fish the other day on a bed. I pitched a drop shot in. Didn’t react. Threw the jig in there and watched her become More aggressive towards the jig especially once I found the spot. I’d hop it vertically and bounce it off the brush. Smoked it out of the brush and I broke her off and watched her jump and spit my jig after 45 minutes of trying. I say screw it pick up my 8’inch magdraft threw it in there and she smoked it again and I landed her but everything you guys say about bed fishing couldn’t be more true.

Lol I'm all year always quiet and creeping around trying to catch the bigger fish. Countless times as I'm walking quietly on the bank I see big ones take off. Sometimes just walking the bank they will spook 30 foot away even when the water is a little stained.

Waterlands have been my go to for a long while. I’ve had several costas and oakleys and waterlands have blown them out of the water as far as pretty much everything goes. Especially price point. As far as clothing color goes, I’ll have to respectfully disagree. Your silhouette/your boats silhouette will get noticed before the color of your clothing, so because of that I find it hard to believe brighter color clothes hurt your bite.

Tried driving with your glasses...can't...the wide plastic profile hides all peripheral vision. Can you adjust them? Otherwise great for fishing as long as side vision isn't important.

Man I been watching you guys since you started tactical, and your channel has changed in almost 180’ since then. Iam still a fan but don’t watch every single episode anymore, example is this video to a fricking T. Maybe you should just start a second channel and name it maybe TATICAL SALES PITCH.
