When Crosshair said, "You got us this far," it was so touching. He finally recognized her capability and saw her not as just a burdensome kid but a worthy teammate.
@@MarcelaKPreininger Indeed 🙂 I streamed the Series Finale last night via D+ & still going through it in my head. I gotta restream it during this month when time is ready 🙂
I noticed that each season Omega spent more time with her brothers over the others. Season 1, Hunter and Wrecker. Season 2, Tech and Echo. Now season 3, Crosshair. The dynamics here are incredible.
yeah it seems almost real, shes running around trying to get to know her family as best as possible it really elevates the show above some of the other recently films and shows
Hard to say more about Season 3 after 4x episodes because she was imprisoned with Crosshair for almost 3x episodes. Naturally leaned towards Crosshair. Now it's nice that crew is back together (silent moment for Tech) & looking forward to see how they play together from S03E05 forward. Also when Ventress appears, ah exciting times. [Forever D+ Sub & big fan of Bad Batch. Dreams of Bad Batch live action movie] 🤞
Alan knows how to explain why we like some characters so much. Without him I wouldn't be able to articulate my more instinctual feelings which the best kind of media can tap into.
Great content, the variety in which you switch gears from a tech or geo-political observation to a socio-emotional commentary on small group dynamics within Star Wars is rare - i can easily see you as an analyst for the C.I.A., no joke.
The thing I noticed the most from this episode: This is the first time Omega seems to have given the order to kill. There was a moment she assessed the situation, took stock of all options availible... and asked Crosshair to open fire, knowing it would result in the deaths of many. I'd love to see you talk about that, and how it may affect development in someone like her who's clearly already emotionally mature but still hasn't had the life experience to contextualize being a combat officer in war.
I feel bad for Crosshair. Not only because he's always had trouble making friends, as that doesn't seem to really bother him that much. But rather, after everything he's been through, he's started to develop a trembling in his hands, which makes it a lot harder to pull off the perfect accuracy trickshots he used to do, and I feel like it wouldn't do what remains of his mental health any good to find that his trembling hands make him unable to even use what skills he has to help what friends he does have.
I feel like making friends didn't bothered him until he lost them when separated himself from the rest of squad. Now he's definitely want to find some or get back to bb, but probably still didn't processed what's going on in his mind + I see signs of heavy guilt through that behavior that he shows
Crosshair with a bit of a hand tremor is still probably better than almost everyone else. I mean with no armor and just an E-11 blaster, he took on a bunch of imperials at that dock and it was no problem for him at all. They never stood a chance against him, and he still knew it. Omega seemed to trust in his abilities as well.
Omega isn't unmodified, she was the first modified clone, an aberration. She is one of the oldest clones like Boba and doesn't have degraded Fett DNA. That means they could use Omega or Boba to start a new line of Fett Clones. Season 1 made it crystal clear that Omega is one of the "Freaks" like the Bad Batch and is the 5th modified clone.
Iirc they say in the show that she is an unaltered clone. Of course, that doesn’t rule out mutation or other possible variables. It would just mean the Kaminoans didn’t make any additional changes.
I just wanted to let you know that you are one of the very few RU-vidrs associated with Star Wars that doesn't make me cringe. I really enjoy your content. Thank you for doing what you do!
Everyone hated on omega so much, but my trust in Dave to make new characters that grow on you is solidified! She is truly one of the gems in the whole series!
I’m sad their adventures together ended so early, it would’ve been more interesting to see them bond more over more episodes. They’ll probably bond more, as I think Omega will defend Crosshair to Hunter and Wrecker.
The clones may not have been force sensitive, however women have a heightened sense of empathy, generally speaking. Combine that empathy with intelligence and kindness, and that alone is a force all on to itself. And, that technically, makes her a balancing force for the clones.
Bro never fails to make me cry. It means so much that someone picks up on these things and more than that, decides to make a point out of it to emphasize not just a show or a good time but the message

These two being put together is a perfect storm for tons of character development. The clones may not have been force-sensitive, however, women have a heightened sense of empathy, generally speaking. Combine that empathy with intelligence and kindness, and that alone is a force all on to itself. And, that technically, makes her a balancing force for the clones. I've always related the most to crosshair in regards to the bad batch and see a lot of my tendencies in him. I’m sad their adventures together ended so early, it would’ve been more interesting to see them bond more over more episodes. I just wanted to let you know that you are one of the very few RU-vidrs associated with Star Wars that doesn't make me cringe. I really enjoy your content. Thank you for doing what you do! I honestly think Crosshair was probably thanking the stars when Omega told him that Tech had her memorize all of their plans. Including Plan 72. Omega is the innocence and hope that Crosshair never had. As soon as you started talking family, I KNEW you were going to make a Vin Diesel reference. 😂😂Omega wants to take the pacifist approach but Crosshair can have a little violence, as a treat. I am a Legends/EU Stan through and through. That being said, Crosshair has to be one of the best-written characters I've seen in canon in a long time. To summarize this: Omega somehow maintained her innocence in the face of a crisis after a crisis. Am I right about this? Bro never fails to make me cry. It means so much that someone picks up on these things and more than that, decides to make a point out of it to emphasize not just a show or a good time but the message as a leader is right on. In fact, Crosshair defers to her throughout the 4th episode, just as he would to a superior officer. I believe that Crosshair stays close to Omega because she was trained by Tech, and she's the closest thing he can get to having Tech back alive. Also, she's filling the role in their team that a Jedi Padawan would in a Clone Squad during the Clone Wars. They've all been trained to listen to assertive kids Omega, Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair? This is their best lineup yet, cause it has all of their heaviest hitters! Omega gets in trouble and for the 55th time they (he) have to save her again. 562 views in 18 minutes it's nice to see a small channel getting so much exposure I finally caught a video at release time! I'm living for the same between these two I Couldn't Agree with you more Allen about Omega's "Special Abilities" which may Be related to the point later at the end of the season they manifest and grow to where she might have to go off with an another Jedi Survivor for training as Padawan, though leaving her clone brothers would be sad, I'm sure they would understand, the story Possibilities for how these Remarkable and well-loved Star Wars Characters Like Omega and her Brothers come to an end ...for now is Hopefully done well for them and us Fans. 😁
The reason that Bad Batch just *works* so much better than most of the other Disney shows is that Filonni and his disciples are in their home medium: animation. With animation, the same type of silly and lighthearted moments that make us roll our eyes in live action feel right at home, yet TCW and Bad Batch have also shown us time and time again that they’re still more willing than the average “kids show” to tackle darker themes and emotional gut punches. While Bad Batch arguably hasn’t hit the same absolute highs that TCW hit during its 7 seasons, I consider it the true successor to the original show; it pretty much perfectly captures the style and vibe of TCW that Rebels noticeably lacked for its first few seasons. It balances what could have been a purely miserable and depressing story (the discarding of the clones) with TCW’s Lucas-like sillier moments to create something that manages to tug on the whole range of human emotions. As a side note, it’s crazy how the animated shows (even Rebels) have handled the permanence and weight of death so much better than Disney’s live action. Resurrections are RARE (Ahsoka and Echo being the two I can think of) so when a beloved character dies it actually hits hard because they truly feel gone. This actually makes fake deaths work better too, because it’s actually a genuine surprise when “dead” characters return instead of being an eye-roll worthy “of course they’re not dead” moment.
@@TeenageMutantZuckerTurtle although I think Dave has written himself into a corner in regards to Ahsoka. But I still think the 2008 TCW, the Bad Batch, Rebels, Rogue One, Andor, Mando Season 1 & 2 are the few decent things in Disney.
@@merafirewing6591 When you list them all out Disney does have a net-positive track record when it comes to the raw number of good releases vs bad, ON PAPER. The problem is that the bad (cough cough sequels) weigh so heavily on the overarching lore that they’ve done so much damage that it’s gonna take dozens of small successes to outweigh the larger failures. And that’s if they stopped making dumb decisions cold turkey and only put out good things going forward, which probably won’t happen. 😭 Tbh if it weren’t for the sequels, then the recent “meh” projects (the entire live action TV catalog outside of Andor and Mando 1-2) would be a lot more forgivable. But the sequel trilogy set the tone for Disney’s ownership of Star Wars, and they’re gonna need to do a lot better than “meh” to earn their way back into fans’ good graces.
Gorgeously well written vlog! Thx so much for your insights, esp abt soldiers & veterans tbh, we’d all do well to keep all these things in mind. So ❤️ Omega, honestly want to be more like her. Funny to say maybe about animated fiction, but there you are. It’s just so well done.
Another excellent summary of The Bad Batch, the writing really makes this series so special. Nothing feels forced, like trying to connect dots between different movies. Great story telling, great character arcs over all the seasons.
In the current season we see that there were more female clones than Omega -- Emory being one of them. Is it possible that the other female staff at Mount Tantis are also clones?
Omega is always just enough to be dangerous: She knows everything she needs to know, she feels everything she needs to feel, and as those two things come together, Omega has become an unstoppable force for good Just like Cassian, or Luke, or Han, Chewie, ANY of the good guys are ALWAYS exactly what they need to be Ultimately, Omega is the youngling spirit of the Mandalorians, just like Gunji is the youngling spirit of Jedi Wookies, and Boba is the youngling spirit of Bounty Hunter ladies’ men across the galaxy Omega is the leader of the Bad Batch: SHE is who actively works to inspire them to achieve more than they think they can - JUST BY KEEPING UP WITH THEM, but also by surpassing them and their capabilities, even saving them at times… Bad batch (includes season 7 clone wars in my mind) is my favorite Star Wars show of all Star Wars tv-style productions
I believe that Crosshair stays close to Omega because she was trained by Tech, and she's the closest thing he can get to having Tech back alive. Seems likely to me that sometime this season, Omega’s going to convince the rest of Clone Force 99 to join the Clone Underground, like how Kanan needs some persuasion from Hera and the other Spectres to join Phoenix Squadron. While these guys do have some regular clone friends, they’re probably going to want to hunker down on Pabu now that they have their missing members back.
I want Crosshair to befriend the hound and have him soften up thanks to it. They could have a relationship like Brad Pitt and his dog in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Omega is the Bad Batch's JIminy Cricket. She is their Conscience that by loving them, tells them they need to be good people. Just beecause, being a force for "Good" is the right thing to do and the right way to be.
I don’t think they brought Daniel Logan back only to voice a random clone cadet in episode 2. Boba will possibly fight Cad for Omega. The Bad Batch will probably give their lives to save Omega. I believe Boba will rescue Omega at the end while The Bad Batch buys them enough time to escape. Boba will give her the armor/helmet that Jango originally made for him, and she’ll officially become Omega Fett, wearing the OG White Boba prototype armor and helmet, shielding her identity from the Empire.
I always used to hate literature class, it made no sense to me analysing the motives of made up characters. Having said that I do appreciate your analysis of the pair, and to mind the person(s) who created the characters in the BAD BATCH, they really paid attention in their literature class.
Bro, I really enjoy your videos! Always well spoken, with plenty of insight. Some of the other you tubers, well let's be honest here, SWT have lost my interest by being negative and professing how they believe the story should be. Also, contradicting him a lot. Keep up the great work, my dude.
Day 1-I don’t know if this is possible, but I really think this is a good video idea. What if Commander Fox died instead of Commander Thorn, and Thorn was in charge of Ashoka on Coruscant?
Crosshair is lying when he says he had his chip removed...if he did, how was the empire able to "enhance its effect"? The empire certainly still thinks it's there.
I couldn't Agree with you more Allen about Omega's "Special Abilities" which maybe Force related to the point later at the end of the season they manifest and grow to where she might have to go off with a another Jedi Survivor for training as Padawan, though leaving her clone brother's would be sad, i'm sure they would understand , the story Possibilities for how these Remarkable and well loved Star Wars Characters Like Omega and her Brothers comes to and end ...for now is Hopefully done well for them and us Fans 😁
I'd prefer her not to be force sensitive. Jedi's have their place, but I find it cheapens them if each exceptionally well preforming character becomes one. The force shouldn't be a magic cheat code explaining why a character is extraordinary, there should be people who are like that without the force. Jedi, Sith and other clearly force sensitive character should be exceptional, yet still require extensive training to develop their potential.
It is kinda sad knowing that it was Sabine chosen as Ahsokas padawan and not omega? Ahsoka could have really emboldened and shaped omega to be her very best.
That Imperial Captain is actually good for that planet: he only caused a scene on a place he controlled. Their chemistry and set-up was good. That CO needed situational awareness and should have held animals in different areas.
I don’t know if it’s omega that I don’t like or if it’s just that super fuzzy super lazy Disney writing.. im not sure yet but this episode pissed me off lol
