I love your videos. You and your family are very talented and entertaining. I just gotta say that little trick where you are using the cut off wheel cutting on the wheel bushing had me a little nervous 😮I know you know what you’re doing but there’s alot of “Not” so skilled people watching and they could easily injure themselves 😮Like I did, when I was a young man..😮, it’s all good ,I know it’s not the space shuttle😅😅😅😅,. Keep them coming you guys rock.❤

If you're going to recover the seat, carpet padding makes good seat cushion material, and carpet installation companies typically recycle take out padding and leftovers, and have some around their sites. Call and ask, and save the driving. The nice thing is you can use spray adhesive like 3M, and layer it, or even contour it with an electric kitchen knife, to fit the seat cover.
@Farm_fab

Taryl, get yourself a box of Boraxo laundry booster, and use that for brazing flux. Simply warm the rod with the torch, snd dip it in a sealable container of Boraxo, and voila, you have coated rods, or at least the end of it. We were told by our welding instructor to do this in trade school in metallurgy class. I tried it snd it worked for stell and brass, but couldn't try it on cast iron, as i wasn't doing any.

That one has a lot of similarities to Gravely w/ attachment on front. But Lawn Keeper prioritized putting the operator ON BOARD where it was an afterthought on Gravely. To me mower deck R & R is always a nightmare but Bolens did their homework on Lawn Keeper. On & Off in a flash! Compact Strong & Long Life; That design should've really caught on. Maybe it was too pricey for the time. Good one Taryl, thanks for doing. ben/ michigan

I really enjoy your DIY videos. I too worked at a lawnmower shop (Gravely Dealer) back in the 80's. I was a teenager so I did the simpler repairs, mostly push mowers. My job was 90% Briggs and stratton and lawnboy mowers, so this old equipment is nostalgic for me. Thank you for this channel.

Hey Taryl ... if you need to drill a hole, accurately in a round piece of material, try this. Clamp your piece of 2X4 to the drill press table ... drill a hole the correct size for your part ...place the part in the hole ... drill right through the center. Should be centered within a few thousandths of an inch. You're welcome !!!

Wax trick does work. We also did that with just engine oil. If somethings stuck, you can warm it, treat it, come back tomorrow. Take it apart. I had an EGR like that. No sense in making deadly NOX emissions. I used that method on the stuck broken bolts and they were way in the back. Got home from the wr yard, had a like new valve, and the stuck broken pieces came out with your fingers. Ten dollar job, 20 year old 360 V8. Then found out the intake itself needed replacing.

When I take bolts off that are a bit rusty. I clean them on the wire wheel and then heat them just a little bit and drop them into a old candle. The wax melts and stops rusting so well that a few years later you can take off the bolts without any heat at all. They just come apart, real easy. Worked for me Taryl, maybe it can help you too. vf

I've been fixing those kind of cables for years . Instead of the set screws I take a chisel and round over the sharp edge so that it's about 1/8 inch . Then in lay the bolt on the anvil on my vise withe cable inside the bolt and put two spots on one side roll it over and put one on the other side between the two. By using the dull chisel and swegging it in you'll never pull it apart ..if your worried about rusting put some lock tight on the cable to seal . Been fixing them like that for a long time haven't had one fail .
