We’re a sick society and it gets pretty bad when China cancels all meat orders from the U.S. Their people were getting sick so they analyzed our meat and found it poisoned. Is it true? Who knows, but when their hospitals began filling up, they did a survey, which this is why I buy meat from local farmers. I too began canning earlier this year and my corn crop is doing well as I will can most of it or as usual. I make vegetable beef soup and crunchy corn always adds to it. I started using beef tallow and avocado oil early this year because the increase price of olive oil. I make my own geeh. I do not use lard because I do not eat much pork. I buy my beef from a cattle rancher yearly. This time of year, I buy lots of fresh fruit and process it in several different ways. In the country south of you, there is also talk of women being made to join. I would not want to face the Siberian bear and who he is currently visiting. He has already said what he will do to the country he is currently fighting. I have no loyalty to either side of the aisle. They have both destroyed our country. Whether you see the bunnies or not, keep sprinkling blood meal every so often. It will deter them and make someone else's garden more appealing! I've been using wood shavings, bought at a farm store for mulch and to suppress weeds. I use them in my raised beds and also in my hanging baskets and pots. It's inexpensive, goes a long way and once served down stays put. In the states we have cedar or pine shavings. It's used for animal bedding. Also, call an animal processing place for beef fat to make tallow. When we bought half a cow last June, they were happy to have us take the bones and fat and not charge us. Most people don't want anything but the meat and they have to get rid of the bones and fat somehow. It may cost a little or not! Just my two cents for today! 🇺🇸😎🇨🇦 I did render down the fat and also made bone broth! A win win🤗🤗

If you buy lard in a regular grocery store, check the ingredients on the label. It may have a crisco-type ingredients added to it. Here in CT, you can easily get lard or tallow very inexpensively $.50/ lb from a local butcher or meat shop. It is very easy to make it shelf stable.

@janedow5366
@janedow5366 21 день назад
I guess you don't know much about how it's done in Russia? I strongly recommend looking into their human meat grinders. Those people in Ukraine are going to war for the right to exist. Some still don't get it thinking that somehow they can get a free ride. Those soldiers have families as well. Their mothers can't sleep, their families can't sleep, but those men (and women because about 25% + of the Ukrainian army are women) go to war so their families are alive. They have no place to go. It's their home. Lots of people in the army used to be regular people with regular jobs. Not too many are born to become soldiers.

Hi Toni - I agree with your assessment of what we are being told. Our u-pick strawberries are not ready yet - will be going as soon as they are. Fortunately I have access to both pork lard and beef tallow and render both. I did the happy dance today - finally finished planting the donated seed potatoes and onion sets. The outside gardens are sprouting nicely. Will be starting weeding tomorrow on the large food bank gardens. Had 3 young ladies come on Monday and they weeded the big greenhouse - it looks beautiful now - the plants look happy and healthy. The tomatoes have started producing - very small tomatoes are showing up. The squash and pumpkins have started producing as well. Praying that everything goes well and there is a bountiful harvest. As to beef tallow, here in the US it is possible to find, but horribly expensive when you do. I have a lady in the meat department of a local grocery store who will save me steak and roast fat trimmings for $.99 per lb. I pick them up about once a week and get about 3 to 5 quarts when rendered. Obviously I don't use that much, but it is very shelf stable and I vacuum seal the jars with canning lids. It is a very mild cooking fat that is stable at far higher temperatures than butter. I use the cracklings in scrambled and fried eggs for an extra fat boost.

We are inundated with bunnies this year. We even had one of our raised beds with a bunny nest in it so that we had to just leave it alone until they were all gone. Our beans and peas are being devoured and last year something was eating half of each beautiful cucumber or tomato, which was very frustrating. Something is eating all of our kale but leaving the lettuce alone which is right beside it. The cabbage is being eaten as well. All of these beds are raised with chicken wire fences, but there are holes where whatever it is that's eating things must be burrowing. We've recently bought a couple of trailcams to hopefully see what's going on. If anyone has any suggestions as to what we can do to stop this please feel free to suggest away! Cheers everyone.

When I realized it wasn't news, it was (and continues to be) propaganda I stopped watching/listening and shortly thereafter canceled my Dish subscription. Money saved equals more prepping dollars. BTW what convinced me was after listening to a whole speech made by Trump, I heard the news that night and what the media was reporting was completely wrong. They had taken a portion of the speech out of context and put their own spin in it. It was a lightbulb moment, and I was then 100% done listening to the propaganda (polite word for what I actually called it) forever. Thumbs down on the W corn so far. Nasty. Sobeys by far brings in the best in my opinion, especially for freezing. Their fruit and vegetable grading standards are superior to W and No Frills. No jam this year either. Put away good ole Smuckers when it was on sale seeing that the sugar prices are still up. Saving my sugar for baking. Those lil rabbits are really hungry this year! We've re-planted as well. Divided rhubarb and gave to 3 neighbors as well as beautiful Romaine lettuce and green onions. Our Township has 2 ">Mulch Days" each year and residents can indulge. We need to top up our garden paths between the beds and full surround of the garden. It truly is a saving. Toni, we Listen to All and Follow None, grind our teeth a bit, and Move Forward based on our own understanding. Lies, Lies, everywhere the Lies. Do this don't do that, can you hear the lies?

I've been wondering if men who identify as female will be drafted or is that when What you identify as doesn't matter anymore.🙄🤔
