Fun fact skooch, their is a classic sonic game that literally has the same premise, every thing you do cost rings, and you even have to wait for the demo to get coins
@@WhatAboutDustbunny No after you clear the first star the sub disappears permanently from the stage. So when he entered the level the game assumed that he already collected that star despite him not collecting it and therefore removed the sub
This is probably the hardest video I’ve had to watch. Sure, the mod is satirical, but it still hits too close to home with the aggressive microtransactions (1 coin per jump, DLC Z button, invis wall fix) and how rampant corporate greed is in the industry. That’s how mobile games got ruined, and I think this due to all the text on the screen that simulates pop-up ads. THANK GOD Nintendo isn’t actually like this.
@@jellybrain7320 i thought mario run was a rare exemption cause it was just a demo at first and then a one time fee, it just ended up being so unsuccessful that nintendo went back to free but full of microtransactions for their apps
@@meyadin5844 oh yeah dont forget mario kart: gacha simulator edition and that one kirby game where you had to buy the currency or grind for it in the most excrutiating way possible
This is like grinding in those modern roblox games my nephew plays Goes like: Kill 100 glorbolions Get 100 golrbos (0.0001% drop rate) Get to level 4000000000000
The mod you have isn't the full experience. You need to get the 'All-star edition' of the mod to get the final level and boss! And on top of that, you need to get the 'Ultimate Edition' which allows you to get the True ending, more features, and updated Loot Boxes. And you need all of the mods to unlock a new additional mode, which allows you to play the game all over again, and have you complete over 500 different challenges! You don't get anything out of it, but hey it's an all-new way to play a mario game! Experience, IS the reward!
Bowser's sub wasn't in course 9 because you bought Upstairs DLC. In the vanilla game, the sub is there until you beat Bowser 2. You actually looked at the hole Bowser uses to leave in his sub after you beat BitFS. Before then it's covered by a hatch with Bowser's face on it.
That moment with the Flight Cap is etched into my brain. That took me back to old, edge-Skooch. I'm surprised how much I missed his vulgarity and liberal use of language as a spice.
If this truly is an EA simulator, the microtransactions/DLC not working and being broken would be an accurate part of the experience since they keep pushing out half baked, bugged to hell and back Sims 4 DLCs all the time and never fix them. Ever.
Isn't there a blue coin switch in the secret slide for an extra 30 points per visit? Did literally not a single person in stream know about that and tell you?
I've also been wondering the same thing and oh no I can't believe no one mentioned.the easy extra 30 coins you can get there that would've added up FAST
The tried-and-true Pay to Win Mario experience. (P.S. It pains me to see this guy forget about the blue coin switch in the secret slide. That would've saved SO MUCH time for him.)
I fear not the man who has beaten a thousand Mario levels. I fear the man who has beaten one Mario level a thousand times (the slide one, specifically).
Typically you can go through that door even if you don't have the 70 stars, but that just leads to the infinite stairs. My guess is the mod dev probably fixed it to prevent BLJing right into the final Bowser fight. (though it would be hilarious if you needed 90 or something ridiculous)
I find it funny how this feels like a more effective anti-microtransaction infographic than every single thinkpiece I've seen criticizing Genshin Impact
Thank you Skooch, this video helped me not destroy my Nintendo Switch playing Champion's Road from Super Mario 3D World. Now back to playing Champion's Road from Super Mario 3D World
Knowing you lose everything when you restart... that means it wants you to play non-stop without taking breaks... that.. actually fits with the microtransactions angle Also Skooch froze the game.. I worry for the people that were just casually playing this hack on stream, then saved and quit to come back later... and then found out they pretty much made 0 progress except maybe stars?
I, too, am gonna be one of the the people to point out there was a blue coin button on the slide level that coulsve cut... A decent chunk of time. And I am astounded no one knew about it.
I feel bad for laughing at your pain, but the part where you try to fly and get the star and then you just have a stream of profanity leave your mouth had me laughing so damn hard. I know your pain as a fellow gamer brother. Also nice touch making all the censor sounds into one-up sounds after you reached a certain number, I enjoy little details like that! :) as always good video.
you are unironically one of the best youtubers i have seen, even if it is just microtransactions. (i had to pay 150 to unlock comments, plus 1 coin per letter)
This is an accurate representation of every phone game/gatcha game currently on the market, with the only difference being you can't pat 100$ to get 1000 + 400 coins! The hours long grind of monotonous garbage just to get enough premium currency to even progress, not to have fun just to progress, is just every single one of these games. and reloading your old file just to lose everything is just every new update for said games effectively.
The getting gacha that you already have, a game called "South Park Phone Destroyer" does that. If your card is already max level it still keeps giving you that. Just an example. Tons of MMO does that too.
The joke about Lootboxes is, that they work in trick you thinking, you get something cheaper/faster, even if you know it don't. Spending 100 coins to get something 100% or spending 10 coins to get the same something with maybe 1-10% Getting maybe lucky is the thing that hook you in this kind of thinking. Random Stuff that may surprises you and makes you happy. It's btw the same why ppl do Shiny hunting in Pokemon. The waste of time is huge, but getting the Shiny, pure happiness fills your brain until you relise, the next Shiny will may take longer. Im a Shiny hunter btw, that why i know this feeling way to good. Luckily im totally not into lootboxes at all, maybe because it costs real money and im not a fan of gambling with it.
Seeing the pic of Skooch and his gf at around 9:47 makes me think of all those movies where Adam Sandler, of all people, pulls hot girls out of nowhere.
Y'know I figured they would force you to make decisions around a finite amount of coins, 1 to 1 coins y'know. That's only a little more than 100 on average. Gives leeway without making it a grindfest
0:04 That's called Mario Kart Tour Luckily they took out the gacha part so that's why I started playing it again. There's still microtransactions though
oh Skooch... you didnt just freeze the game... you crashed it. LOL the game confused itself because you were in the castle and when you get a star it has to send you to the castle but you are in the castle LOL i love paradoxes :))
We need THE FULL EXPERIENCE. Modders, here's my proposition, assuming you don't get capped by the nintendo ninjas. Take this concept, and expand it. Build a simulation around the game where you work to earn money to gamble it away in a microtransaction laden mario 64 game. Include bills and food costs and if you cant afford food/rent/your bills something bad happens.
19:13-19:35 Trully one of the most TriPLe a experinces of all time and also Bad mobile games(Parasite days, Whale Trail and Necromerger are actually good ones sadly they're the exceptions)
I wonder if the final door key was from a loot box Where you have a chance to get a star and reset the game, or a chance to get access to the final door
