I lived in China for eleven years and recently had a great holiday with the missus in Hong Kong. Most people appreciate my descriptions of my life experiences, but some (who have never ever set foot in China) trash my years of experience and just abuse the country and I give up on them. No point arguing with haters and pompous snobs and racists.
It's really ridiculous how someone tries to teach you what life is like in China, while they hv never been there, probably they don't even have a passport

People who live and have lived in China, Chinese and otherwise, also have opinions on westerners still living in China and broadcasting on RU-vid. The groups most likely to comment are: 1) Chinese nationalists and 2) CPC-abolitionists. Some of those are trolling, others have well formed opinions. I think the former group is more dangerous to Gweilo, but he may be able to avoid them in real life until the point he says something to attract gov't attention.
I am getting old and I won't be moving anywhere else. Usually, when you get old you don't have the energy to move anymore. Just how life works for most people.
Most of the Anti-China trolls are from India & Philippines.. coz most of the trolls from this 2 countries are jobless so they've so much time on smearing China. 😂 🤣
Trolls aren't worth 1 millisecond of your time, arguing with them is pointless. When I see comments like that, I read a few sentences, and ignore it. By responding to them, you are giving them what they want, and that is attention.

I have visited, on business, many times in the last 12 years and agree with your observations of the society. People are happy and proud of their country and it is understandable why once you have been there.

I bought a $428 canadian dollar ebike from Walmart when it was on sale for $200 less. It worked the first time I assembled it. Even the kick stand worked. This is my second identical ebike. Why ? Because I don't want to start a new with another ebike that I am familiar with..and possibly sucked into another expensive brand with their expensive maintenance routines. I know my previous one work and suit me fine and I already bought the battery for it for it was only good for 3 years. That is the power of made in China. I paid only $428 and not $5000 or $10,000+ plus sucked into the retail bike shop's maintenance schedule as well. If that is not the power of made in China, what is ?
When I first arrived in China in 2008, I bought my first USD4.00 rice cooker...LOL Seriously, that is not a typo , it is really about USD4.00 NIB. It is nothing fancy but just the very basic one with a button for two persons.
You know, for those that say who'd want to live in China. It would be helpful for them to scroll over China content videos on RU-vid. Lots of people admire China for what she has achieved, kindness of people to foreigners, beautiful landscape, diversity in ethnicity, variety of foods, and a lot more. Wow Gweilo!! So now I'm a troll? I thought I was just a guy who is curious to know more about the good and bad about the countries in Asia that I view on RU-vid. All I was criticizing you for was leaving out the negative things in China. I also view other bloggers in VN, Thailand and Malaysia and appreciate the honest views they give about the pros and cons. Like some of the scams to watch out for and the problems they might encounter. I do hope someday to see for myself what China is like and compare to other countries. And compare the beer too.
As a foreigner, it may not be the best choice in this moment in time to be critical. Not talking about politics, just anything critical about daily life, infrastructure or products. So I can understand it. He does wat he needs to do to keep living the life.
Why report on negative things if you rarely experience them? Go visit and see for yourself. In my personal experience, it is the most safe, clean, efficient, friendly, and cheapest country to visit out of the 17 countries I have visited. Our last visit was October 2023, it is amazing the progress, compared to our previous visit in 2011. By the way, I love the beer. Cheers from Australia.
