Doomed Victorian Farmhouse
This stunning abandoned Victorian farmhouse was built before 1870 but an exact build date is unknown. It was listed on the city's register as having potential heritage value but was never officially added to the list.
The home has had many owners over the years including three different families living in the house within the last decade. It last sold publicly in 2021 for $1.3 million. The entire property was expropriated a short time later to be replaced with a new road being built nearby. The house was supposed to be demolished in the spring of 2022 but so far nothing has happened, even though construction for the new roadway is well underway.

What a nice old farmhouse! The kitchen was tastefully updated but kept with the style of the house. That was a gorgeous fireplace, but the OCD in me couldn't get past that it wasnt centered on the wall, lol. Great video James!

What a stunning old house. Seems so solidly built and has withstood the test of time. Makes me sick that it’s not saved for it’s historical value alone. Love the sunroom and the room with the brick fireplace. Seems like it would have been such a cozy place to be on those snowy days and nights with a roaring fire. Love all the brick walls. I could see myself living there. Love the stained glass and the staircase and the murals in the bedrooms. Such a fine home. Too bad to lose it. Thanks for sharing James!

I love this farm house! It has great bones and still looks solid. The property is gorgeous surrounding it. The barn is still in great condition. It’s a shame it’s going to be demolished. I LOVE the aerial footage you took, great job James.

Wood trims were beautiful. The door knobs were old and amazing! I loved the shower, excepting the glass doors. Brickwork & fireplace were wonderful, so resilient over time! Stained glass window, WOW!! And the original wooden plank flooring! Amazing home, love the architecture! Thanks for sharing!

@@StaticSpaces The shower was really done well, but yes, I would prefer hazed glass, as privacy is important. A home is to feel safe, secure and somewhere to relax! Yes it was a beauty of a house! Loved this one! Thanks for what you do!

Wow!! I absolutely LOVE this farmhouse! It dayes back further than the one I am currently living in which has belonged to my hubby's family since the beginning. But it is so beautiful!! What a shame to know it is going to be torn down! I feel like so many of us (fans of historical/abandoned homes) say that so often....that it is a shame to tear down something w/so much character and beauty, just to turn around and put up a bunch of cookie cutter homes w/zero personality OR to put in some roads or whatever. People just keep getting it wrong! So wrong!! I am so glad that you were able to get in to capture iys character b4 it is gone forever!! Given the opportunity, I wld have moved it TOMORROW! ❤❤

Oh gosh the video just started but I have to say I love this staircase, I know you didn’t like the painted spools , but It looked warm and cozy to me along with the color of the kitchen cupboards The stairs look so nice with all the trim work going up too. Okay back to the show..Love the outside too. The stain glass panels and wall murals very interesting. Thank you for showing this James.

Yes, when the government needs to expropriate your land for infrastructure, you have no say. Whereas if a developer wants to buy your property, you don't have to sell. Thank you very much for your comment!!

It's a fairly wide road but who knows...it hasn't been demolished on schedule, so maybe they won't have to? There was a lot of white, wasn't there. Thanks very much for your comment!!
