Lazer Quest replaced the Boman Twin, and now after Covid, even the Lazer Quest has been replaced. It was the probably since before I was born. Its incredibly amazing yet saddening to get to the age where your home town starts to become so different all around, and Im only just about 25

Try being 58, Saykred 😆! I knew all these businesses first-hand - grew up off of Memorial Drive, just south of the huge cemetery.

The Boman Twin was there when I was growing up in the 70's & 80's. Great memories of going to the theater seeing movies like Young Frankenstein & Saturday Night Fever! The last brings a smile since my mom & I went to see it with my Aunt who thought John Travolta was "it", she loved his dancing! Lol

My Aunt used to work at Casa Bonita and we once had my cousin's birthday there. I loved Bell's and was so upset when the fairgrounds ran them out. My family and I stopped going to the Fair because of what they did to Bell's. Yes the parties involved are no longer there but that's not the point. The point is that Bell's never should have been ran out. I will always cherish going to Bell's one last time in 2006 with my dad and best friend. It was so much fun. I hear that they are planning on bringing it back and I can't wait. I will be the first in line to ride Phantasmagoria and the Log ride (White Lightning). My sister would probably ride Zingo a bunch of times because that was her favorite ride. She would be upset when Zingo was closed.

So much prosperity Tulsa used to have ... I never knew about tulsa Forum until 10+ years after it closed . Back in the 90’s / my childhood days My family always went to Woodland, Eastland & promenade ... & I deeply miss eating at Piccadilly

Eastland had the coolest design of the three. It was just in a bad location. Tulsa is just now starting to really continue growing east of it.

I lived near and worked at a store in Woodland Hills Mall. I remember watching it being *built* in the late ‘70s. ❤️

@@jordancapps9521 Eastland had the best Arcade ! 😂😂😂 I used to spend entire allowances at that place , still have some little prizes from around 1995

Piccadilly at South roads Mall was epic! They had the best Gumbo!

@@manifestingbeautifullife2187 I agree . We’d go there after church on Sundays when I was in elementary school. I would always run to B Dalton book store across the way to look at books. I was always curious what was below the first floor but mom never let me go far from her . I was only like 4-5 back then .

Speaking of Borden’s Cafeteria, the Piccadilly, Furr’s, and Luby’s all are gone. I don’t believe any exist in Tulsa anymore except maybe Nelson’s Buffeteria on Memorial.

Yesss .. almost every Sunday my family used to go to Piccadilly back when it was in Woodland Hills mall, it was my personal favorite because I used to always ride the carousel in the mall after & KB toys was right by Piccadilly. There’s a few Luby’s in Dallas , the food tastes just about the same :)

Just down from the Delmar, just past the overpass was my parents business. And the red brick 4 story building right at the overpass, was 1 my grandfather owned. Many of the homes in the Utica Square area he designed & built, Leon Russell bought 1 after moving back to Tulsa. So many great memories came rushing back. Thank you for sharing these memories, much appreciated!

Wow, great content! And sooo many others!! Not to mention all of our Art Deco buildings!! 😞 The one building I wish was still here..."Th Cimarron Ballroom" where our parents went to dance back in the 50s early 60s...💌

My best friend & I went there every Friday night & sometimes Saturday nights all through our junior high days! Soooooo much fun! We've been friends since 5th grade, some 46 years...WOW that just made me feel old.

I saw Empire Strikes Back at the Bowman Twin in 1980 when it came out. I loved Crystal's Pizza as a kid. We used to go to the Heritage House buffet at 36th and Memorial, then they shut down and they tore it down for Route 66 Harley Davidson. This town has changed so drastically, and not for the better.

Before Service Merchandise (on Sheridan) it was Gulf Mart, Edison was a club membership store downtown where most all new car dealerships were (Fred Jones, Bill Doenges Ford, Thomas Cadillac, Bill White Chevrolet, Chick Norton Buick, Parrish-Clark Dodge) just to the east on 11th was Cox Chrysler-Plymouth, Knotts Rambler Ranch, DB Wilkerson Chevrolet.

Crystals and Casa Bonita were both in the same strip center at 21st and Sheridan, with Casa Bonita being the anchor at one end. Fun place to go. The same company that owned Casa Bonita at one point also owned the Taco Bueno stores as well. And Black-Eyed Pea, I think. Camelot Inn--they used to have science fiction conventions there in the early 80s. Bell's Amusement Park - I especially liked the miniature golf and the mirror labyrinth. I had forgotten about Oertle's. I can't say I went there a lot, but I did go there on occasion, usually with a parent. Much closer to home was TG&Y, Otasco, and a Safeway grocery store. And Service Merchandise. I got a Casio home keyboard there. As an adult, I lived close to Admiral and Sheridan for a while, but the Sheridan Village shopping center was past its peak at that time. It still had a variety store that I liked to go to, but I can't remember its name. And a barber shop at one end that I sometimes went to. I kind of remember Sipes, but I'm sure we didn't go to it very often. Does anybody remember the A&W Drive-in on Admiral, between Sheridan and Memorial? Or a Big Boy restaurant next to the Admiral Bank, also on (appropriately enough) Admiral?
