Linz, my top tips for the post-massage hard sell are: 1. When you fill in the questionnaire do not give them any reason to sell you anything. E.g is your skin dry? NO, Are you stressed? NO 2. If they still try to sell you something, tell them you’ve already got it. Works a treat! 😉
I like all-inclusive cruises. You already get everything, so there’s nothing to ask you to buy-except the sales they advertise in the shops. No art auctions, no drinks package, no photos, no extra for any of the dining.
Love you two I'm getting through all your videos. We are off to Norway in 7 days on Celebrity Apex. Linz I'm with you on spa prices, my hubby and I treated ourselves on our last Celebrity cruise and we spent nearly £400 on 2 massages, which were OK but not the best I've ever had. But it was the constant ooh your skin would benefit from this and that at £85 a pot - honestly!!!
Thank you so much Missy Bird :) And the prices just keep going up don't they. We've seen treatments now over $1000 on some ships, which is nearly another cruise. We'd rather look a bit rougher and go on another cruise😂
Agree with so many of these. Manners cost nothing! And my go to for spa sales is hinting that I have loads of these products because my “friend/cousin/sister” works for a spa and gets me discount. They always seem to take that as a message not to sell to me 😂
I hate people causing delays on excursions. We were on a coach in Marseilles which set off with 2 reserved seats empty. We got out of the port and had to return because the passengers had turned up. One was an elderly lady with a cane. Was a littke surprised later to see her swinging said cane Cabaret style.
oh that's another great one Val. It is so annoying. We've had so many delays over the years on excursions because of this (not that same specific elderly lady though)
Well said Guys , we totaly agree with you ,on all your pet hates , We get peeved with some of Celebrity Customer relations who do not seem to care or can be bothered with what is to us a genuine gripe , regarding an excursion to Piza , which when we got ther we were told we had 1 hour to look round then back on the bus we were not happy bunnies , the cruisers talking down to the staff ,really gets our goat , please and thank you cost nothing , and if you are rude to the server , you do not konw whats gone in the drink or food ,before you get it 😁😁
We were sitting in the Coffee Port on Marella Discovery yesterday and an elderly gentleman - writes he at 72! - walked by one of the waitresses and put his arm around her. He clearly meant nothing by it, must have recognised her and was trying to be friendly but it rubbed me up the wrong way. Be friendly and chatty by all means - we’ve made friends with a crew member and we’ve swapped stories when she’s been free - but keep your hands to yourself!
Absolutely Rockdoc, whilst these type of things we not frowned upon in the past (doesn't mean people on the receiving end liked it), that is not the world we live in today, and peoples boundaries should be respected. Hope you are having a great time on Marella, we must do that line soon.
Love this and completely agree with all your moans. I have exactly the same. Completely agree about Celebrity too. Brillaint cruiseline until they want you off, and then they dont give a hoot about you. On the flip side, their drinks package is awesome. Brilliant video as usual
Wow. Thank you. That is a huge complement, as we've been watching B&D for so long (back in Honest Cruising days), and they were inspirations for us to do our own thing too.
This is a wonderful video! I especially like the part where you talk about the things that annoy you when you're on a cruise. I agree with everything you said!💖💖New sub!
We just got off our first HAL cruise a week ago, and here's the most annoying thing about it: There was zero food, snacks, or anything other than apples available overnight until 7:30 a.m. and then again from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All venues were closed except Room Service every day. The cruise would have been so much better if we were not always thinking about food.
Hate people touching then replacing food items at the buffet, bad manners, queue jumpers the list goes on. Maybe I’m just getting old and stuck in my ways. Oh and not having vodka in my orange juice!
I was a bit shocked to hear of some of the bad experiences that you've had on ships. We live in Perth and we only do Australian cruises with Cunard. We are on a tight budget so we wait until they have specials with lower prices. We hardly spend anything on board as we don't drink and don't use the extra-charge restaurant. We've never had people trying to sell us things or any of the other annoyances you mentioned. On a sad note, it looks like Cunard will be pulling out of the Australian cruise market but we don't know why. Thanks for an interesting video.
You are welcome Joan, what a shame Cunard might be moving out of the Australia market, what will be your go to line if they aren't there for you? Whilst we talked about lots of bits that annoy us, and there were others we thought of afterwards too, we absolutely love cruising, and lots of those. things applied to land based holidays too. Have a lovely day Linzi & Mark
@@SuiteNatured Thank you for your reply. We are very limited here with the number of cruise lines. We'll have to wait and see. Looking forward to your next cruise review.
We had one example of this where someone set up a tripod to record the comedian (on our Apex cruise), and he stopped the normal show and ripped into them. He said he didn't mind people recording snippets and putting them on social media as it was good exposure for him, but didn't want his whole show (which he did on land too) putting out there and people then not paying to come along.
Do you see people being rude on cruises everywhere or more often in places? I am going on my first cruise out of Southampton around the British Isles in a few months and am curious to see if cruise location affects manners.
I find this depends on the cruise company. I don't know why but we have found people the rudest on P&O and the most polite on Celebrity with Disney and NCL in the middle.
You don't see it in any one place, or in our experience on any one cruise line. Busier ones, during for instance the school holidays, tend to have a higher percentage. Don't get us wrong, most 99%+ are absolutely lovely and not rude or discourteous at all
In our experience Peter, the time of year makes as much difference as the cruise line. Holiday times always seem worse (we see that on land too). On average the nicest people we see (and we've yet to see a rude person) is on Virgin Voyages, every other cruise line we've been on we have seen examples of it. .
@@SuiteNatured I know there are poorly-behaved people everywhere, but my home country (USA) seems to have the worst-behaved people, especially when traveling. My curiosity is mostly based on hoping our British Isle vacation will be filled with courteous and mild-mannered people.
We sailed the Med on Wonder of the Seas and I was surprised to see a review stating a lot of people were rude. The ship had a lot of Spanish cruisers. I wouldnt say they were rude though. There were cultural differences, that's all.
The luggage tags/letter early really gets to me, Disney are best with this it's only done on the last day they don't want you to think of leaving until the last minute. The cruise credit not being able to be used in advance is annoying on P&O as on Iona you have to book in advance to get a chance of getting some of the restaurants.
