Every time I watch one of your videos it's like... huh, that's EXACTLY how I think when playing Gear. I'm glad someone is making these tutorials, especially ones like this that explain the dichotomies between various option sets and how to think around them.
Excellent video, this advice helped me a ton! I found myself jumping a lot until I started playing against much better players and noticed they almost always stayed grounded. Monkey see, monkey do - but this video breaks down exactly why and how to use and not use jump effectively. :)
As a player that like the air more than the ground this video is very useful and will help craft my gameplan to make people suffer even more. The key is balancing the options to make yourself safe and unpredictable I like it
Ok, one of the things to note about jump ins is that you need to distract your opponent to prevent them from anti air. Faust is a weird case when it comes to him and jumps but it is important to note.
I should elaborate. Faust is indeed in a better situation than some others who lack air movement options, but if you jumped, and your opponent didn't do something punished by jumping, you've stepped out of a more advantageous game state and into a worse one.
@@Krackatoa Of course! Especially because Faust neutral tends to be scary on the ground with far reaching normals. Air options are good as well, second only to Millia imho
As a millia player, this is something I really need to wrap my head around. I would jump even if its disadventagous to me, which only helps me get blown up from anti airs. :(
Not sure if you've made a vid on this yet, but what should Faust be spending his meter on? Should he use it for his supers, or should he use it for RC extensions/movement like scarecrow teleportation? Is it just mu dependent?
A) Break wall with Super. B) YRC. C) Shmix off good item situations. D) Save yourself in sticky situations with the za warudo effect. E) Scarecrow PRC punishes.
What do you think about doing a delayed second air jump to bait a throw but you air dust instead. I do this too much in my opinion. I kinda get away with it, but depends if your opponent adapts, of course. Do any of you guy do this?
Yeah this video is kinda the reason I’m playing melty now lol fuck that lemme play air footsies And like I know I should jump less there too but I play fv akiha in CC and now ciel in TL so like lol imma keep jumping
