Building a van has gotten crazy expensive, especially with everyone thinking their clapped-out 200k mileage ambo is worth 40k. It's time to do something a little different and build a retired military truck. The M1079 is far more capable than anything else on the list of most builders and pair that with the fact they are almost entirely low mileage, and you have yourself an absolute winner!
The build has just begun on "Bronty" but check out some of the crazy features of this truck!
All this makes it the best van possible for a 4x4 conversion.

Your eco hub adapter plate may be mounted backwards.

They are, make sure they get flipped. They aren't concentrically mounted, and reduced spline axle engagement by about .375"

Yep, they look inside out to me also… That welded plate with the 4 notches around its edge is supposed to be inside the hub/facing inward… installed this way the hub centers with the axle splines are spaced that much farther out from the hub, resulting in less axle spline engagement… on the rear this could effect axle position in the differential, on the front, axle diff position and the axle u-joint placement in relation to the steering pivot…

Yes, you can get hurt in an accident. With the cab over design, it's the passenger who arrives first . Drive accordingly, don't tailgate, even in city traffic. If you are young, this just be your ticket to overlanding. At my age (71) probably not.

I noticed the air pressure warning alarm (ear piercing shrieker) was not present on start-up!- Good Choice! Looks like it's going to be a great adventure vehicle!

Do the warning lights still work? Depending on where and how the vehicle is liscensed, that could be an issue if you get inspected, as the root certification of this vehicle is under the commercial standard, regardless of how you are using it…

I am kind of disabled nowadays. This is perfect for me to live maybe ?? How much would it cost me please? I've been a builder/remodeler ( homes ) all my life helping families achieve their needs when they can't afford expensive companies etc. I owned Gentleman Jim's Construction and made some money every week But made better friends throughout my career. Ended up getting messed up trying to defend our Borders from Runners smuggling fenty in etc, ( can't say too much here ) .. Anywho, im on ssdi today forced to not be able to work, retire early w No retirement. How much would it cost me s my friend my Brother..? Is it for sale? I can't figure out what you're really saying. ?

Depends where you are. The price of this type of truck in the Midwest if you spend enough time looking is 20-25k. Out here is California people want way more.

Is this a recent video ? Because your others that i just watched ate a year ago when you first brought it home i believe.. So have you owned it for a year , did all the custom Awesome work on it and now thinking of building the inside as a camper/home ? Thats what I'd do as $$ allowed it. Seems like the perfect camper/apocalypse Sleeper. Maybe do some hidden james bond built ins w a Equalizer hidden in the floor or something the way the Country going. Lol. No seriously, You could make it Awesome inside there. Stay Safe Stay Healthy Positive and Blessed my friend my Brother. It’s been a slow process acquiring a whole bunch of parts and diagnosing some issues. About to start the inside build now that I have the electrical sorted.
