This is video from the Third Gen Expo 2019 in Addison IL. It was a fun meet even though we ended up getting rained out! I tried to get video of everyone's cars. Thank you to everyone who came and to K1 Speed for hosting us!
1:59 that blue one is the car I've always wanted since I was a kid. I wouldn't do t tops now mainly cause it rains most months of the year here though. Too many bad leak stories.
Got 2 3rd gens. An 89 Iroc-z28, and a 86 Trans Am. I would love to get them to the quality to bring to this expo but show car quality is hard to get. Beautiful cars though.
I restored my 91 camaro RS 305 back to new condition and I'll die with that car I've had so many that i wished I'd have kept but I'm not selling this one i got her new again and I'm keeping her that way and no LS swap either my car is all original untouched and that's rare
This motor brings back horrible memory’s, I had this cross fire injection motor in my 83 Z28, i loved my car I was 18 ,,,,,my car was all looks cause this motor was trash ,,I kept a old blanket in the back cause it would catch on fire all the time😖 it literally depresses me to look at it! My dream one day was to put a Vette motor in it, I wish I had kept it cause now I do have the money to put a new crate LS3 and whatever else in it, I was broke as a joke back then, still lucky to have a 83 Z28 in 1988! Mustangs and Chevy trucks easily beat my car, it was embarrassing!
I watch a lot of these 3rd gen shows and I have yet to see a Z28 with the same color scheme as my high school car. It was an 85 cream color with gold trim and wheels. I know it sounds terrible but it really looked good, in my opinion anyway lol
Where can I find the forum for the next event In texas. I have two incredible builds 1986 iroc 496 stoker custom and a 1989 rs convertible original with low miles.
I love 3rd gens. My hs buddy had an 82 Iroc w the 305 G motor that 1st got me interested. He had a lot of trans problems but eventually had a 700R4 installed and never had an issue again. If memory serves, the car came with a 200R4. When I graduated in 93 I bought a real 89 LB9 5.0 with the 5 speed, red on red with t-tops with 45k on it. The issue I had was a MAF signal low code. Took it to a local Chevy dealer who installed 3 MAF sensors, then an upgraded PROM, then an ECU but never did solve the problem. This was a bone stock car. When it ran good, it was really fun to drive, but then it would suddenly run terrible and barely idle. I fought with it for over a yr before I sold it for less than I paid for it. Still, if I could find an untouched stock example of a TPI car, I'd buy it!
Loved my '87 I-ROC 350. Sadly, it was the last to roll off on a Friday, or the first on Monday. After 2 months, the paint popped off all over the entire body.
It must have been built at the Van Nuys, CA plant. The cars built at the plant in Norwood, OH had much better looking paint work. It's a shame that GM closed that plant the end of August in 1987.
Where's RegularCarReview when you want him? Which Camaro is best Camaro? Which Camaro clone is best Camaro clone? I think the Firebirds looked better with the pop headlights. They looked meaner when down.
Which one should I get? Gen 3 Camaro or Gen 3 Firebird? I like both body styles but find myself going back & forth between the two. T-Tops or no T-Tops?
Sportimus , both are great, but I’d recommend getting either with the 305 and the T5 manual gearbox. They’re the most fun in my opinion. I have two 3rd gen Camaros, one T-top and one hard top. I use the hard top for touring tracks because it’s more rigid. The T-top car is the cruiser. A 350 tpi auto car isn’t bad, but I prefer the manual transmission cars. It makes a T56 trans swap a little easier.
If I knew, I would let you know! lol People have done some crazy stuff with their third gens so I'm guessing its possible! Thanks for checking out the video :)
I have a beautiful 1992 camaro rs 305 v8 all original but the paint job kept it factory paint color when I had it painted. Camaro lover tel I'm dead . I'm going to make some videos soon
@@truejdm112 Try looking up "ThirdGen Expo" on facebook. There is a group and as well as a page. The actual group seems to be more active than the page with people posting their cars as well as meet up info.
