SOLD Soul. It's the thing that seems to be missing from so many modern exotic cars, which use off-the-shelf systems from the same suppliers to make pretty bulletproof cars with incredible performance figures. While impressive feats of engineering, they seem to miss out on the look, feel, smeel, and presence of older exotic cars, like an early 70s Ferrari Daytona or post-war Maserati 3500GT.
This GranSport coupe hearkens back to the original Maseratis of the post-war vintage, the company that essentially introduced us to the Grand Touring car - powerful and beautifully styled 4-seaters, with racing heritage but soft enough to be used comfortably on the street. That's what I like about this generation of coupe - it has a Ferrari-derived V8, an F1 inspired manumatic transaxle, and stiffened Skyhook suspension that stops short of giving you a bone-jarring track ride - it handles incredibly well, but is comfortable enough to use as a daily driver - not entirely unlike a rear engined offering from a famous German maker.
All in all, I just love this coupe. It's fast, elegant, thrilling, and a joy to drive. That its affordable to buy in to doesn't hurt, either.
