It's not really about the connections nor the diploma or certificates one has but it's the art itself that the artists sell. It's their portfolio that get them hired by clients and employers.

19:22 ive been studying art since 2013 and always had that in the back of my head. 'ill publish these when im good enough'. it took me going to concept art school and being forced to show my work to the class for me to finally dare to show my art. 20:09 it is a bit sad though, when i share the art i worked the hardest on (usually just line based art with thought out anatomy and construction) i hardly get any engagement on it but if i publish some painting i just threw together in like a day, with me just eyeballing stuff and all the details just being me dabbing my brush around, people are all over it on discord. it makes me bit torn, like i can paint stuff like that so others will like it but at the same time i want to do it properly. i didn't study all this stuff to just ignore it. like if it isnt challenging to create wheres the sense of accomplishment?

It’s a tough problem, I think that there’s a balance we have to hit as artists where we create things for other people but we enjoy it enough to where we want to do it Kris mentioned at some point in the podcast really trying to create art purely for other people and that leading to his business. On a broader level I don’t think people really care about how it’s done, they care about the emotion a piece of art makes them feel. Keep going, you’ll figure it out

if you're not talented at art though or have been drawing since a kid like Hehasuk, I don't think you should be pursuing to make a living from art, like he said you have to leverage what you're good NOW at and what you're willing to do, he's someone whos talented at drawing that's why this business model worked out for him, but if you're not talented at art and you're already mid-20s or later, people won't ever look at what you have. and by the time you get good, it will be even too late. that's FACTS when he started he was already able to do portraits of people in conventions, someone who's not good at art can't do that, so noo dont "just do it" like he said you have think about what you're good at and willing to do, if you're not good at art then it doesnt match up. And nowadays is worst than 20 years ago, you're competing with millions of people some of who are actually talented at art, or been drawing since they were a kid
