I really think the thing that sets you apart from all the review channels is the fact that you don’t cut out the ‘mistakes’. You show us real life usage of the product and make mistakes which most of us would likely make when using this product and don’t just pretended it’s an amazing product and lie about how easy it is to use, that’s what I love about you!
Hey love your stuff!, could we get more cleaning of the products in your videos? i miss the cleaning part of your videos and we haven't seen the sink in awhile. Thanks!
I really liked the voiceover recap for rounds 1 and 2! I thought it did a good job shortening the video length while keeping the information. Great for pacing!
I don't understand why they don't have the stand flip out automatically when you unfold the device. It could even flip out the stand and lock that part into place via gravity and make it so you have to snap the stands back in. It would be a simple change that could really help make things work better the first time.
It would make it more expensive and complicated, and my understanding is that the nostalgia brand is a bit of a budget brand, so they decided to go cheaper, nothing wrong with that, you get what you pay for 🤷♂️
Are you calling Tyler Tube a paid promotional channel? Am I missing something? He doesn't know how to use/uses half the products wrong that he reviews. He seems to be pretty honest about his opinions and flat out says a product sucks if it sucks. How is he a promotional channel?
Honestly I wasn't impressed with the idea until you mentioned how long the bacon takes to cook. Less than ten minutes combined preheat and cooking time is actually really impressive for bacon that isn't microwaved. It seems to me like they invented a thing that makes bacon really well and then realized after the fact that it can sort of cook other things, too, and then they decided to market it that way. For something that seems like a bit of a uni-tasker at first glance, it's surprisingly versatile. I could see this being fantastic for dorms or for camping, and I'm sure there are tons of creative non-breakfast uses for it. Quesadillas come to mind as a strong contender, if the unit can safely operate on its side. I can also imagine burgers working well, especially if you intend to put bacon on said burger. It even folds the bacon to a bun-friendly length for you. For something a bit healthier I bet you could make a decent stir-fry on this, too, which would work well if you also have a way to cook rice.
@@girlsdrinkfeck Irrelevant. Cooking this “fake” bacon takes like twenty minutes using standard methods. Ostensibly “real” bacon would also likely have a faster cook time in this device. Genuinely don’t know what point you’re trying to make by suggesting one type of bacon is more or less real than another. They’re just two different kinds of bacon.
@@Kayla_Kimbrell They’re just called tortillas. Is calling them tortilla shells a regional thing? Genuinely curious about this, not trying to be condescending. It dawned on me that maybe their name isn’t as obvious to those who don’t live so close to Mexico, and I’m trying to be more compassionate towards strangers online who might come from different cultural backgrounds. You’re right, though, assuming the tortillas aren’t too big. I imagine breakfast burritos might be too ambitious for this machine.
It makes sense for people that don't like or eat pork. Like if you're making eggs for the whole family but 1 person doesn't like bacon it makes sense to wipe
Keep up the great work ! Glad you got out all the failures and did post commentary. Failure is great to watch to see what common mistake people may come across, but you did a great job realizing when it was too much and would be overwhelming.
For me, one side is more than large enough to cook 2 eggs. I cook 2 almost every morning in an 8" frying pay with a much smaller surface than this has on each side and have no trouble at all. That being said, I can do everything this does and more with my George Foreman Evolve grill that has changeable surfaces, and it cooks from the top and bottom, making things go quite a bit quicker. Not to mention that the temp is variable. Cute gadget, but I would not make room for it in my kitchen.
Interesting design ... even more interesting that it works! I can see this in use in a dorm but doubt a home cook would find more than amusing. Your reviews are always useful and freakin' entertaining too. Thanks!
I could see this working in a mobile home as a smaller alternative to a large cooking setup or butane gas stoves. It's compact and portable while having just enough cooking surface to do single meals.
im always impressed by the depth of your reviews. it was very interesting to see the thermal view. While the products may not always be satisfying, the review most certainly is. I don't see the benefits of this over using a pan on the stove...
Well a device like this won't splatter Bacon grease or heat up a tiny apartment like the stovetop. Or if living without a stove top or oven like in certain tiny spaces, I can see why gadgets like this exist. Is it going to replace other all in one gadgets, perhaps not.
I've had one of these for about a year. I like it. I haven't used any cooking oil, but no major problems. I might try wiping with oil first before cooking. Maybe the photo shows cooking quail eggs and tiny pancakes? What I really like is that it's a space-saver, no need to click on the kitchen stove or pans to mess with. It's easy enough to clean up when done. I like that handy tray that collects dripping bacon oil, it's easy to empty. I think it can cook hash browns as well. I'm gonna try that.
@@rudridz Thanks 👍. I'm aware of these deceptive scams. These comment bots are swarming through all kinds of channels. They try to fool people into thinking it's a special offer from the channel owner. They're irritating, disgusting and risky.
@@em84c What I like about it is that it's a space-saver when not in use. When folded up, it's very narrow and takes up less space than an air fryer, and uses a lot less electricity than a regular stove top. It's not handy for family use, but it works great making breakfast for one or two people. It also allows making pancakes, which it not a good idea for an air fryer.
TylerTube tested this too and his machine was almost exactly 400F, it seems like the factories making these aren't putting a lot of thought into keeping the heating consistent.
4:57 I love how here he asked “would you want chocolate chip bacon pancakes?” And for a brief second he thought “hmm that sound kind of delicious” so he the said “Maybe” lmfao
I dreaded making breakfast, which happens to be my husband’s favorite meal. It took my a couple of times to get it right when I first purchased it. I feel like a pro now😂 Two things I did to make it easier, 1. I got some silicone rings to put the eggs in. Keep the egg in a circle and doesn’t drip into the grease collector. 2. I use a spatula to help me pick up the egg. It would scoot around on the griddle and was hard to pick up.
Chocolate chip bacon pancakes could work. I believe Denny's® had that during their "Baconalia" event several years ago. The bacon shake was interesting, that's for sure. 😆
We were eating at Saltgrass steak house with friends, and had a great server. My husband and I decided to share a piece of plain cheesecake, she asked if we wanted any toppings, strawberries, cherries, chocolate, bacon 🥓? She talked us into getting the bacon they use for salads in a cup on the side. It was so good! Now when I make cheesecake for someone, I send it with a container of strawberries, and a container of chopped bacon.
seems like it is an OK product for a single person. One can quickly cook a varied breakfast with one device, instead of 2 or 3 pans. Maybe a single egg omlette would work as well? Bacon part seems very good. But $40 to cook bacon is a bit much. I think the grease catcher would make it easy to transfer and store the bacon grease for future cooking. The box is very misleading. Reminds me a bit of the sugar cereal "part of a healthy breakfast" images.
Having once lived in an efficiency apt, that did not have a stove or oven, this would have been a great gadget... I could also see it as a handy device for RVs and such. I saw another review where, again, it worked, but with a slight learning curve. For many, this could be a great tool. For me, with a full kitchen, I don't think it's worth the storage space. Nice review... and I like that you make multiple efforts to give the piece a fair chance, and allow others to learn from common mistakes. Thank you James! 😁👍
Thanks. I figure showing my mistakes may help others avoid them if they decide to buy it. And you're right that this would be ideal for a small apartment.
I love what you do James! I think most people own a range and a skillet. If you do, why would you need this? I'm not judging, but I think this is true for most kitchen gadgets you review. They are fun to watch because you are so likable!
@@bostonrailfan2427 Tyler Tube usually keeps in his mistakes and has redos as necessary. Was surprised that he actually got it to work first try as well which is unlike him. 😂
Seems like a pretty good product for someone living alone or for someone who has very little space for cooking. My immediate thought was somewhere like Japan where some people basically live in two room apartments and use portable stoves. Another would be traveling, and their RV or camper might not have any kind of stove. Something like this would be great for that type of thing.
Jimmy Since everyone seems to review the same products at some point, if I were you, I would check RU-vid for people reviewing the product your doing and see how there's go and what they do! Otherwise keep up the good work, I've enjoyed your videos a long time!
Iv never used the side griddles flat, we only use it for bacon to be honest. But this thing is worth the price just for cooking bacon. As long as you keep an eye on the grease tray you can cook a few pounds of bacon in no time with very little mess and no splatter. We really like it.
I have a device in my kitchen where I can cook an entire meal in one place: eggs, bacon, bread, you name it. It’s incredible, I can’t recommend it enough. I believe they call it a “range” or “stove” 😂
Your home's incoming voltage will make a difference in how much electric heating elements heat. In the US, voltage can vary from 110 to 120. The higher the voltage, the hotter heating elements will get. This will effect cooking times and temperatures. Chances are, the manufacturer designed the unit to work on an average of 115 volts. You home may have 120 volts coming in and that might be the cause of burning. Voltage can also vary throughout the day. The unit should have had a heat control to avoid this problem.
At first I thought it wasn't very useful but being able to make the whole meal in 11 minutes. Or even just cooking bacon that quickly without splatter is awesome
You gotta do the new as seen on TV diamond clad knife collection or diamond something knife collection they show them cutting through cans in the blade not going dull
So, if your just interested in cooking bacon and you don't have a cook top, would you recommend this or the microwave bacon cooker? Which is easier / faster?
It keeps the bacon warm . . . Nice feature. :) I wonder what the target market is for a product like this? It seems like this would be useful in only certain situations. Even if it only takes 11 minutes and doesn’t require two to three different pans. Almost too much electricity needed (guessing) to cook for one person all the time. Someone with space saving needs might benefit, but might already have a stove and a microwave. Could an RV’s outlet handle the power?
Should I assume the issue of doneness for the bacon is one a matter of trial and error? Do you prefer bacon crisp, or floppy? The men of my church get together for breakfast every month, and there is a great schism over how done the bacon should be.
Damn Tyler tube just came out with a review of this like three days ago. And I probably won’t watch this video because I know it works and it works great but I’ll still give it a like
About that vid you did on the cling wrap dispenser that didn't work. Have you tried the stretchtite Wrap’n Snap 7500 ? I have one and it's great! The only one I've found that has worked for me. Kinda expensive...about $35...but for me worth every penny. (no, I don't work for them or anything) All the cutters built into the boxes are awful. This one actually works!
Awesome! I knew you'd figure it out 🙂. I'll probably purchase one of those bcoz after you figured it out I'll be eating alot of bacon, eggs, and pancakes 🥞
Nothing to do with food. PILLOWS! I can't find a review from you for the Tony Little pillow, This is by far, my favorite. (without the included pillowcase) Give it a try!
Great review. I saw someone else do a review but they never look at instructions, They had success just using bacon grease, not wiping anything, and not using any other oil. I like the concept, but it's just too small to be practical unless you are single.
ive noticed a standard on this brands cooking devices, most if not all seem to have only a "on" or "off" mode it would make them all legit products if they spent an extra 50 cents putting a temp control knob on them. i have to believe that for the price of this you can get something better that does the same thing
you know that guy that takes the complicated Tick Tock things, like the lime cutter that took the lady 4 or 5 tries to cut the limes. He pulled out a knife, cut a lime into pieces in seconds...then put his hands out like "look, it's easy. Why you making it so hard". that's this thing. I can cook all of that in a cast iron skillet in about the same time with less cleanup.
Maybe if you don’t have a stove or you live in a studio apartment in New York or something. I don’t see it as being practical. Great review it was a fun video
If you already have a stove or electric griddle this honestly is probably pointless for everyday use. However I could see how it could come in handy with the compact size if you were to take it with you camping or something to a campsite with electrical outlets.
I may be the only one who feels this way but I would like to see how you clean some of these specialty products and griddles especially without removable plates I have an impossible time cleaning my panini maker every time I use it.
In my opinion, with them saying that it will hold up to 6 pieces of bacon and then displaying only 5 on the box is fair. They are making no illusions that 6 pieces is the standard. but is possible if the bacon you are using happens to be a little less wider. I actually appreciate that. But I do agree that by having all food items displayed on the unit simultaneously could be misconstrued. However, logically thinking, you should know that it is a bacon PRESS and there would be no way to press your bacon and not have the eggs end up in the drip tray. Having said all that, I believe this product would be perfect for studio apartments or kitchens with limited storage space.
