Honestly, having it as a diagnostic tester for bike shops would be nice, knowing what lengths you like for each of the segments isn't necessarily intuitive for the average person and it changes a lot of factors
@@halfblood_drag0n this is changing the geometry, not the fit. And bike fitting rigs sit in place, so you don't get a feel for how it handles. That being said, this would be way heavier with a different weight distribution, so wouldn't necessarily give you a realistic feeling for how a geometry handles anyhow.
That man has made a career of "What could possibly go wrong?" Most often nailing it anyway. When "failing" doing it in a spectacular style. His safety shirt and tie always keeping him safe.

Yea, what could possibly go wrong with a hydraulic system on a bike? You'd be better off with using some bolts since you'd be changing it so infrequently
No need for a battery powered pump. Use a wheel/pedal driven pump to provide the pneumatic/hydraulic force to slowly the lift the bike the longer you ride. Pneumatics would be lighter, as your riding in your "fluid" reservoir, but it's also takes a lot more rotations to make the same progress.
It took a positively *_colossal_* amount of energy just to power a dynamo for a bicycle lamp. OK, not efficient and all that, but those lamps would typically have maybe a 5W bulb in them. If an electrical generator put that much extra load on the pedals, how much more would a fluid pump add? I venture to suggest the bike would be unuseable, at least in some circumstances, especially considering the extra weight of all the telescopic struts and fittings.
@@kovs-gg8wt You don't understand gear ratios, check valves, or my comment that it would take quite a while to fully actuate the mechanism. Lots of little bits of air/oil add up over time, especially with a check valve to prevent backflow, and a large enough gear ratio to keep being able to provide flow as the pressure needed increases(although it shouldn't change much, as the only change in load would be from the change in leverage as the frame articulates.

Bikes used to have adjustable suspension damping in the era before hydraulic dampers because friction dampers were used. That is what this reminded me of.
This is dope cuz they have these on motorcycles like bmws where when u ride it starts to higher and when u come to a stop it lowers for easier dismounting and remounting

This would be the perfect technology for those super tall stilt bikes. The hardest part is getting on and off, so if you could start riding on a normal bike, then flick a switch and shoot up to 2 meters in the air as you ride, it would be perfect. Then when you’re ready to stop, lower it back down. Maybe pneumatics would be snappier? Hydraulics are strong, but they’re slow. Aren’t pneumatics what bouncing cars use?
A go-kart low-rider would be so cool! With the bouncing hydraulics and fuzzy dice! Chromed out with the spinning rims, a raging sound-system, and under-glow!... Kinda like those kids rides by a mall, you throw a quarter into the machine and it moves around. But It drives, bounces, jams out, and is covered with Collin Furze logos and a killer paint job! Only dreams, eh? 😂

One could not deny Colinfurze ability to think and realize a project effectively and cleanly at any time. Innovative thinking and execution comes from within there is no doubt about this. If it is useful in the end is another matter, but what the heck it is fun and a valuable learning exercise from many could benefit.
