I tried coalossal with Masqueraine and intimidate safety goggles but that’s also a great partner. Masq also is immune to eq and gets aqua jet without doing much damage to it what so ever. It also gets helping hand and icy wind as good support moves. I used the same ev spread and moveset on coal.

@MrWicked187
@MrWicked187 Год назад
@@Pokemazda what I'd suggest when investing in speed, is to consider what mons you want to outspeed and check their max speed. Then work around that. Next figure what type of speed control you want. For example Tailwind doubles your speed, choice scarf boosts by 1.5 same with booster energy. Then there is speed reduction (bulldoze, icy wind and so on) that decrease speed by 2/3 then 2/4....

TL; DR Masquerain is actually great on this team Omg I've been playing a team really similar to this! If anyone finds Bruxish awkward, I recommend Masquerain. It adds a little bulk to Coal by having a weaker aqua jet, has Flying to dodge EQ, and has Helping Hand to get the double OHKO. Amoongus, as always, really helps with the TR match up. I haven't lost to TR with it yet

QoTD: I haven't run into any wild combos, so instead I'll share my off-meta defensive core of Tinkaton and Rotom-wash instead. The defensive synergy between the two of them is perfect, as they cover each other's weaknesses beautifully. Both also pack enough of a punch to deal damage in a pinch that they're not ever stuck doing nothing. Tinkaton is really disruptive with the most reliable and fastest fake out in the game right now, as well as having access to knock off, while rotom can do rotom things

Safety Goggles Maushold + AV Glimmora and Toxicroak + Talonflame in the back. Or as a lead. It was okay, won 6 out of 15 games, could've been more. It was a lot of fun. Wildest combo I saw was a Murkrow + Garganacl lead where they set up prankster tailwind. This will speed boost the garganacl which is choice banded to us explosion and sacrifice BOTH murkrow and garganacl. If you're unable to outspeed and then double target the garganacl before it nukes non-ghost types, no hits are able to be done. Then enters a Paldean Tauros and Meowscarada. Meowscarada hits the tauros with flower trick and the tauros (fire type) has tera bug to avoid super effective ground moves. It swept with max attack rock slide. It was a surprise but was fun to see and use. Scream tail was one of the backup pokemon and then there was one I forget but it was cool to see Makes me think of trying Frosslass critical on water paldean tauros with that suicide setup strat tbh

Bruxish is one water type in this game other then slowpoke family that can learn Trick Room. Seeing Slowbro/Slowking people know: oh it is a trick room user; but seeing Bruxish they don't expect that. For mono water teams that i am trying to use there is no better way to counter trick room then to reverse it and this mon seems to be the only good option (fast outside trick room, can swim togather with other fast water mons on the field and it reverse trick rooms). Problem is it's neither fast enough without scarf nor durable enough for current meta where flutter mane's and chi-yus roam around. That's why unfortunatly this niche of having access to trick room doesn't work. With Scarf it might do something, might even score a kill with Wave Crash (it's as strong as coming from Floatzel) but then it's ususally dead or a dead weight afterwards. I guess on a non mono water team it could work as a mon that block priorities (it's faster then Tsareena and Farigiraf) but you'd really need to build a team around it. Ergo it's nice to see a team with Bruxish. I would love to see it being more commonly used because Extremespeeds, Jet Punches and Sucker Punches are quite common in this meta. EDIT: After watching first battle i suggest dropping Scarf as you can trigger coalossal with aqua jet (yes redirection will be issue but then lead something else) and get access to reversing trick room that you've mentioned give you problems.

Hey Aaron, there’s this strategy I came up with that has protean focus sash Meowscarada with skill swap paired with silk scarf Tera Normal noivern with telepathy. If you lead both you can skill swap onto noivern and give it protean boomburst, while not taking any damage via the swapped telepathy. My set was helping hand, skill swap, flower trick, and shadow claw (for protean ohko on most flutter mane and also immunity to boomburst if you want to Tera normal noivern instead). Arcanine was my 3rd mon bc you can switch in arcanine and skill swap with intimidate and then get 2 of them off in 1 turn which is useful, and then arcanine was clear amulet with play rough wild charge close combat and flare blitz with water Tera for Palafin because protean into those attacks is pretty good. Can you build the other 3 mons around that core? I don’t have the vgc experience to know where to go from there. Would love to see it. Cheers!

I love it when I hear the words, “Neither of these Pokémon are meta at all.” Means someone actually thought outside the box and made a more interesting team. VGC can be extremely boring, Regulation C specifically. Everyone thinks the same Pokémon are the best and uses those only. Regulation C has been a horrible format for team diversity.
@grizzlyscalp9506
@grizzlyscalp9506 Год назад
Exactly that's always been the problem woth these formats. We have hundreds of pokemon in the game to use but every single meta people just use the same 10 mons and newer players just go on pikalytics and copy the standard team comps.
@itsukizy
@itsukizy Год назад
1100s ladder take let people be competitive in a competitive game seriously, yes these types of teams are fun but a lot of people actually really enjoy the optimisation of the meta game and the raising of the skill ceiling. using meta mons can have just as much (if not more) depth than using off-meta. as you get better at VGC and more into the hyper-competitive side you start to realise the small differences between, for example, two different players’ arcanine evs or sets is infinitely more interesting at a high level than if they used two different pokemon. uniqueness is cool but it’s not a good take to hate on the development of a meta game in a competitive game as if meta game development is not a core element of competitiveness. maybe competitive games just aren’t for you if you don’t like that. some things will always be better than others.
@itsukizy
@itsukizy Год назад
@@grizzlyscalp9506 keep this same energy and load up an ampharos brambleghast team on 1800s ladder. maybe u will then realise why “people only use the best pokemon” why would they sabotage themselves by using objectively inferior pokemon? competitive games are meant to be competitive. you can play casual if you want to see bad pokemon
@rrose13
@rrose13 Год назад
@@itsukizy there’s nothing entertaining about 80% usage Flutter Mane. Stop lying to yourself. Reg C has been a god awful format. It just is.
