I couldn't click fast enough when the bell went off‼️. This is such a special performance for so many reasons. He wrote this song after his friend Charlie (guitar store owner) passed away unexpectedly. The lyrics in this song, "Thanks for All the Love You Passed Our Way" is actually engraved on Stevie's grave marker. I don't think you noticed he started off tuning his guitar while playing. Then turned and asked for a new guitar. It was switched out so seamlessly that if you weren't watching you would never know. His tender vocals and the emotion behind this song elevates it. Then his heart felt message that is even more important today and when he plays with his teeth, he loses a false tooth and spins and looks to find it onstage. As he is walking back to the microphone, he mouths "my tooth" and then says "sorry" to his tech that had to retrieve it for him. There is a lot going on as we are blown away by his mastery, passion, and soul🎸🎶‼️. Thank you for finally getting here! There are lots more joy to discover. Another song from this same concert to watch is his "Ain't gonna give up on love". Also from 1989 Austin City Limits, "Mary has a little lamb", ( no not kidding) "Look at little sister". Lots more for sure🎸🎶‼️

When Stevie was in this kind of a zone, which was actually pretty often, seeing him play live quickly became like a religious experience. It's like being in one of those hot revival tents on a muggy summer night down south somewhere with Stevie making everyone catch "holy ghost fever" while his guitar is speaking in tongues, can I get an AMEN!!

Something everyone always misses is the feedback control being directly worked into the melody, the man is literally controlling feedback and making it fit into his melody, think about that. That’s not something you can practice for the show because there are about a million factors that will affect the sound of feedback. Only one I’ve seen since Hendrix

This song, Stevie wrote as a memorial to his great friend, Charley Wirz of (Charley's Guitar Shop) after Charley's passed away. He did the majority of work on Stevie's guitars. He actually custom built for Stevie, the white guitar Stevie is playing in this video. He actually popped a tooth out during this performance.

@ Scott Darden it is actually because he started playing the song with the wrong guitar. The white guitar he ends up playing it with is called Charlie, after his guitar store owner friend that died, that this song was actually written for. He always used to use the white guitar “Charlie” to play this song, but when they started this song that night he realized he had forgot to switch out, so he mouthed to his guitar tech to bring him Charlie

Adogg, Love your channel, check out Jimi Hendrix the Real G.O.A.T. of the guitar,.... enough for SRV to actually say when he was asked why do you do soo many Jimi Hendrix covers on your ALbums??....to which SRV responded, he's the baddest CAT I know! As far as playing behind the back and with his teeth, SRV got that from copying Jimi as well. Also, VOODOO CHILD Is Jimi Hendrix's song, Stevie copied that as well. They are the 2 greatest guitarists on the planet when they were here, Jimi being the Best, Stevie a close 2nd. Also, Stevie came on the scene after Jimi had already passed . But all in all , can't ask for any better either way. I've heard them all in my day. God Bless brother! 🙏 Ps- check Jimi out live at Woodstock 1969 , Star Spangled Banner, Red House and VOODOO CHILD Also check out Jimi at Monteray 1967 Pop Festival when Jimi sets his guitar on fire at end of song.

He'd cleaned himself up, renewed his commitment to his patient wife and was really hitting his stride when he was abruptly taken from us. I know this is an old video of yours, but I really hope you read this comment. Stevie Ray was a musical genius! He has a bunch of badass live performances on RU-vid. You definitely need to watch and react to his cover of Tin Pan Alley. That’s one of my top 5 SRV songs/performances. He also has a live performance with Jeff Healey. Jeff is also an amazing guitarist in his own right. He’s a blind man that played his guitar on his lap. They have a performance together that you should definitely check out.

Oooohh! I am a SRV fan, but never heard this song before. It's lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing the 'tricks' he does during this performance (I'm writing this comment while only 4:35 minutes into the video. I had to roll it back to see him tuning and then changing out his guitar -- I've seen him do that before, but still don't understand HOW can he do those kinds of things without missing a beat during a performance. And now he's messing with the controls on the speakers or something. The only conclusion I can reach is that playing guitar is like BREATHING to Stevie -- he doesn't even have to think about it. He was the ultimate guitar god! And I had never heard his philosophy of life and why we're here -- and I love THAT about him too. I have always thought that we are here on Earth to learn lessons, and the most important lesson is that we are here to love and help one another -- ALL of us -- regardless of race, creed, color, etc. And we will have to keep being reborn, over and over, until we learn all the lessons we need to become as perfect as possible in terms of our interactions with others. We ARE all brothers and sisters in the eyes of God.

I went to this concert when I was 15 years old, I traveled from eastern Long Island to Passaic New Jersey. If my mother knew where I was I would still be grounded. Of all the songs he did that night this song has stuck with me all this time and the message he gave need to be repeated and repeated often, everyone needs to hear it! B.B. King used to say that you needed to be black twice to play the blues but he never noticed with SRV!

It is not unusual to have a 10 to 20 second brain lock when SRV pulls off one of his mind-benders. It's just something we all have to learn to live with...

13:08, brain freeze. I feel ya brother. A some point, you just have to stop when Stevie Ray plays and just kinda reorganize your thoughts.

Seeing him live in person was a experience u never forget. He was a great human being, who loved regardless of race, money or anything. He loved everyone. Why God takes the best is hard to understand. But I’m sure he was needed in heaven.

Great reaction 💜 If you want to listen to something smoother than silk, Riviera Paradise. It will take you to a place so beautiful and peaceful. A gorgeous instrumental. May he rest in eternal peace. 💚

Hey Adogg, I made it to the end. Not a hard thing to do with SRV. He is my favorite guitarist. I love your reactions. Keep it up. I would like to see you react to SRV version of Mary Had a Little Lamb.

I know this is the 3rd video from Stevie ray that you watched. I do not know if you know this or not, but the song voodoo chile (proper spelling) Is actually a cover song of Jimi Hendrix. Stevie is the only person that you think Jimi is channeling through him while playing the guitar. And as you found out in in Texas flood that he can play the guitar behind his back and in this song he can also play with his teeth the only other person I have ever seen do both, and he also Doused his guitar in lighter fluid and burned it on stage was Jimi Hendrix.
