Yeah I feel like he just chose a random marketing strategy and went for it, the fact that he saw gunnars video and sent extra makes me think that he doesn't take himself too seriously which i really respect
@@vogelvrouw It's also something that may net him some real benefit. Coming off as a guy who's not overly defensive, and is even open to some criticism, makes it so much easier to like him and his stuff. People buy products they like, so having his brand be likable before you actually buy anything is a great incentive.
I mean those “pheromones” he has on his colognes are 100% fake and even if they exist, they really don’t work as advertised much less the “gaining confidence” and the like lol But at least he was nice, not arrogant or crazy, more than you can say for many of these snake oil salesman. Edit: and his product seem actually good, that’s a plus (although I would never buy LPR just because of the name and case lmao)
Honestly what a top way to respond to a video of someone laughing at your colognes and ads. Genuinely cool as hell that he saw that and was like "this is fucking sick, send that guy some free cologne right now"
Okay, that is legitimately wholesome that Billy sent you the entire line of cologne. What a great guy able to take your jokes on the chin! You should definitely have him on the show just for sending you so much free shit. 😂
my girlfriend bought a bottle of LPR from some lady's trunk when we were in Vegas. we don't even like it that much, it's been like 2 years and the bottle is still almost full. but showing her your videos on this was a treat, we've never seen the actual marketing of this stuff. thank you for this!
When Gunnar commented on why LPR was being described as boosting confidence rather than attracting others, I had some thoughts. I used to work at a sex shop that sold a lot of pheromone perfume/cologne. I liked the gender neutral one (I'm non-binary) so I wore it a lot without any confidence that it was actually attracting other people. I asked my store manager, who had been in the industry for 20+ years, whether the pheromone stuff actually worked and he told me that there was a study done (don't ask me for citations) where restaurant workers did shifts with and without pheromone perfumes, and that when they wore them they got more tips, etc. That being said, that doesn't mean the pheromones were making people like them better - it could just mean that they *believed* that the pheromones would make folks like them better - giving them confidence they wouldn't have had otherwise, thereby making them more social and charming and getting more tips. That being said, whether it's pheromones or clothes that make you feel sexy or anything else external that makes you feel good about yourself - most people who allow themselves to do those things are more confident, and that in and of itself makes people more interested in you. If you think the LPR smells good and you think other people will think you smell good, that confidence will bring you more success in your endeavors, whether or not the pheromones were actually involved. tl;dr - believing that pheromones make you sexy imbues confidence which is just as effective as the theoretical attractive properties of pheromones themselves.
Yeah that sounds like a pretty big confounding variable, honestly it would be genuinely interesting if you could look into the study though, since I'd be interested in seeing if it is real
@@theredactedfailure6812 I'd like to see a double blind study, like if they made two identical smelling perfumes and only one had pheromones, then tell one group they have pheromones and they do, tell one group they have pheromones and they don't, and have a control where you tell them they don't
I believe this is correct. If you watch videos of women wearing pheromone perfume for their boyfriends their demeanor changes. They're giggly, tilt their neck asking their BF to sniff them, and are more flirty
Jesus I honestly thought it said Liquid Party Remover. Was expecting him to like gag or something; like some kind of foul liquid that would make everyone leave a party lmao
i’m so glad the colognes (mostly) smelled good! i thought they were going to smell like grandpa colognes. i will say there is a suspicious lack of panties in my area though…
The fact that this guy saw the video and then actually reached out is hilarious. All press is good press, sure, but it's also pretty funny that he can take the piss out of himself as well
It would be so interesting to have him on the channel (if you are still willing to ofc) I honestly am dying to see what he has to say and how the conversation would go.
100% would make an amazing gift. What’s better, some boring regular cologne that’ll sit in your bathroom and you’ll forget where it came from, or a comedy cologne that’s cheaper and has a more fun backstory?
I was at a gas station and one of his goons was in the parking lot and he gave me samples of the cologne. Doesn't smell bad but the guy was so funny he was like skating around the parking lot when I showed up and he came up to me to sell it to me. He tried to sell me 2 for 80
Lol if he comes on, ask him to explain his understanding of pheromones in humans and then follow up with the lack of proof that pheromones affect humans
I bought LPR Black from a guy at a shopping center. I looked at the box and thought it was going to be complete trash but it smelled pretty decent. It has a fresh spicy citrus scent. I would wear this in the summer or at the gym
That dude Billy is quite funny in the very good sense, very goodsport and all with the jokes, I love when ppl can take a joke to his product or image and being smart enough to make profit of it. Way to go.
Pheromones are personal. They're emitted from your own body. You can't just put on a product that supposedly contains them and expect any definitive result They do exist, and they do have an effect on attraction, but only by one individual being attracted to the smell of another. There's no product that can do that.
This is accurate asf. OMg though, have you heard about the “trend” that some women are doing in order to attract more men? They’re using their own “personal” scent (think down below) and legitimately dabbing it behind their ears like you would with perfume. 😂😂😂😂 ☠️ I am not making this up. 😂😂😂
If he lowered those price points, id buy that at $25 for just to have that box on my shelf and grenade as a gag gift. Unintentionally or not, sh!t is hilarious
Thats why you spray it on paper. If you spray it on yourself you invoke your bodys scent to it, plus you will smell both the ones you put on your wrist continuously.
I'd love to see a down to earth fragrance reviewer smell these lol. Love ya Gunnar, but based on how you like Dior Savage, I need a second opinion. (Dior is fine, but I work at Sephora and it makes everything reek of sharp citrus and aftershave)
The reason the limited edition didn't smell good COULD be because it's supposed to be on skin. Pheromone stuff is meant to be used on skin, cause it blends with our natural scent or something like that... It's not meant to be put on clothing as a scent thing like febreeze.
Stop!! some lady sold me and my mom this exact brand at a strip mall I got the ride or die which based on the boxes is a fem ver of unstoppable (mine is also shaped like a grenade) and I wanted to say no but it was 2 huge bottles for 60 bucks and when she started mentioning pheromones I took it as a red flag but she was so pretty so now I have perfume that only lasts an hour.
