I am with you. I would rather more USB4 ports over having dedicated HDMI port and / or dedicated SD card slot. And in the case SD card slots, I especially dislike those where half the card hangs outside the slot, plus I primarily use MicroSD cards.

Hey Rene, lots of "Pros" us the SD card slot. I do Data Management for film and TV for a living and couldn't live without it. Sony FX6, FX3 A7s, DJI drones (via micro SD adapters), all modern sound mixers use SD cards... less salt please! 😉

Rene do you experience Bluetooth issues on your macbook pro when trying to use it like a workstation with bluetooth keyboard, bt mouse, bt airpods max, etc… Im experiencing problems with bluetooth both with sound in the airpods max (and regular airpods) lagging / sounding robotic, and with the mouse lagging sometimes. It clearly feels like a bt issue and happens enough of the time that I just wondered if something was wrong with my macbook pro. Then I got a new one and hoped this would solve it, but no, still exactly the same issue. I have also tried with Apple native magic mouse and keyboard, but the same problem here… so my question is: do you and others experience this as well? It is very frustrating and seems strange across 2 different macbooks.

how is not having 120hz not an issue for everyone? That is my biggest deal breaker with jumping the gun on the Studio Display. How can you go from your Pro Motion Macbook Pro to a 60hz display?

The Studio Display is still the best choice for true retina without scaling. USB-C hub is very handy, in the same package with speakers, mics, webcams. Pricey but great overall.

C70 is definitely overkill 😳. I understand why, but lol crazy to see. I grabbed one of those Belkin MagSafe mounts to use with the studio display and just plug my iPhone into the display and pop it on the mount for video calls using continuity camera. Generally I’m not on my phone during a call where I’m on camera, so I find it to be worthwhile especially with the quality bump.

Rene, hope you make an appearance after WWDC, if we get the rumored headset. I'm already feeling like the hype is so great that there's no chance the product can live up to it. I guess we'll find out in a couple days. If we do, in fact, get what is rumored, man it will be such a game changer (pun intended :). What's most exciting though isn't the hardware -- i already know the hardware will be top notch, top of the line, all the tops; it is Apple that we're topping about. But also since it's Apple, i feel like the software might just be groundbreaking. Anyway man, hope all is well and hope we get to hear from you soon.

I would rather have more Thunderbolt ports than the HDMI and SD card slots. Those should be dongles in my opinion. I'm holding out to see if they put out an updated iMac or and iMac Pro this Fall.

Yeah, most people never or rarely use an SD card slot. And even my external monitor uses USB, so the HDMI is useless too. I'm not annoyed that it was added, but the space could have definitely been utilised better - I personally only have one dongle, and that's to get more USB ports 😅
