In todays video we go over how much everything cost on larry! I forgot the rear wheel spacers and upgraded lights. This added a little to the total cost! Let me know what you think! Fully larry videos! - • Larry the f150
I was never a fan of 10th gens until I got a 99 with 300k miles and 16k miles later it hasn’t had a single problem or repair. Pretty damn amazing for something worth $2000 with a bed and 4wd. Maybe I got lucky but I’ve reconsidered the way I look at mileage on a truck
Karsten Patrick is put mine on every once in a while and my kids would tell me it’s ugly lol 😂 so it’s hanging in my garage like a decoration for good now lol
Super cool that you're making more and more content with ol Larry I also have a 4x4 5.4 98 F150 same color as Larry, and also have a 18 Chevy Silverado. It pumped me up to see someone giving these old fords some love on RU-vid. At the moment I'm fixing up my chevy but watching your videos of Larry has given me some ideas on what to do on my ford and hopefully ill have it looking different at the end of this year.
I appreciate you talking about the upgrades to Larry and the costs. The headlights look good! I paid around $3k for my 2000 Ford Expedition 4WD, plus CA DMV fees, but I feel it is well worth. Mileage was high at 250k, but the original owner took really good care of it. I normally avoid used car dealers, but after test driving the truck and checking it out, it runs great, and is very reliable. Minus a couple of minor flaws, the interior is perfect. Paint has some damage, but I can live with that . It came with some nice chrome rims and I just put a more aggressive Ironman tires on Big Blue.
That motor will last a lot longer if you take care of it. Only thing that might happen is spark plugs might blow through aluminum head threads. They make special kits that are easy to install. I had one blow out on the 5.4 at about 240k fixed it and put 100k more miles on it still driving.
These are great trucks, My close family and me have these trucks my 99 lasted me 360,000 miles before she gave out my grandpa's has around 370,000 and it's still running strong
I love watching your videos. Larry is my favorite! My grandpa recently passed and he inherited his truck to me. I’ve been wondering what I’m gonna do to it. I’m watching your videos on everything about your 1997 Ford F-150. Mine is a 2001. I really like the style that you have your truck in. My grandpa never really started driving this truck until mid 2015. So it is a project. I’m planning on putting a coyote motor in it. But I love your videos! Keep up the great work!
Øgan øøf Sorry about your gramps😢They’re the coolest and full of knowledge 👍 I’d be glad to help you out as well👍I’ve had a lot of experience on purchasing adding and replace good and bad parts and what works and breaks! I would love the yotee motor! feel free to hit me up 🤙 if u have any questions 👍👍👍
See, this is nice. It's not extreme, and you breathed another bit of life into this old boy. I have a 1999 F-150 XLT and it's been my ride since I bought it. Now that I'm older, I'm considering something like this with slightly less aggressive tires. As far as cost, just keep in mind that you can drop a good portion of that same amount on four new tires and a suspension rebuild, which if you've hauled. towed, and driven on rough roads, you're going to need to do anyway. I will say this: $2000 on wheels is a lot. However. At a certain point, you're building a future antique, so consider that.
I have a ‘97 Lariat F150, it’s burgundy with the 4.6. I love it... 230k miles with original motor, trans, & rear end. Thanks for having a 10th gen on the channel!
Just got a 98 F-150 4wd looks identical to Larry with a tad bit of rust but not near the miles, so glad you released these vids so I can make a Larry twin
I have a 1997 suburban k1500 with a 350. I had it for about 3 months until the head gaskets took a shit and the heads cracked as well. I bought re manufactured heads and new lifters, rocker arms, and push rods. I picked up new spark plugs and wires and a water pump and , power steering pump. It took me about two days. Everything seems to be going well now
Gonzalo Resendiz I agree 👍 at least he keeps the vids going 🔊 the others kinda older~~ish. I like lookyfor the 10th gen f150 1 because it’s the truck I have and I like them 🤷🏽♂️
Farmall Lover 👍 I have shorties and want long tube so i totally would like to c how that would turn out ! I however am a fan of 🐈converters! Make the truck not stink💩 if he gets some 3” high flow it should be more like full straight n 49-50 state legal 🤷🏻♂️
I have a dark blue 03 F150 4.2 Reg Cab 2 door all rebuilt engine, suspension all components new with nice 22' LED BullBumber all blacked out bumpers....lots more ...love it
I bought a 2001 F150 Supercrew XLT 4x4 off Ebay (sight unseen). Drove 4 hours one way to go get it. Drove it 4 hours back home. Drove it for about a month and blew a spark plug. Found out that someone had tried to put an insert in previously and went in sideways. So it required a new head. That cost me $3700 (head plus, new manifold, a few other things). I had it done at a shop because I don't have time or interest in doing it. I only gave $3500 for it on Ebay so the repair was more than I gave for it. I figure me and this truck are married now.
I paid 3k for my 99 F150XLT 4X4 with the 5.4L. Private sale. I want to make this truck be what I want and it's going to be a very slow process. I've had some important things fixed and there's more that need fixing. I'm not going for beefy tires or a wide stance or lift as the truck is pretty high off the ground anyway and it's more of a safety concern. I want to switch to a dual exhaust. I want to have the sound system upgraded. I want to add step rails. I'm on the fence about adding a supercharge kit. I wish I could have found a 250 but for the price I paid it put me ahead compared to getting at a dealership.
Ethan Bannink it’s the camshaft sensor easy top front of head driver side ? or crankshaft sensor ok to change but u have to loosen the ac pump lower passenger side of motor! I learned this because I had issues where it would start sometimes ! Changed fuel pump 👎 fuel pressure reg 👎 cam sensor 👎 crank sensor 🤘👍 was still cheaper for me to change all those parts my self then take it to shop ! Sensors r $30 ish
Ugh... Would look so much better with the rear up level with the front... I was hoping it was just the way it was sitting. These wheels are some of my favorite ever, though.
I know I am a noob but since I subscribed I always thought Larry was a 4x4. Some truck or 4 wheel drive but they don't have any indication on the outside. Larry would make some good content Showing the capability of a 2 wheel drive truck
I have the same exact truck. I’m about to get another vehicle but I will keep this as my second truck. My paint job has seen better days. I’m considering having the truck sanded and vinyl wrapped vs repainting it. What is your opinion on a vinyl wrap vs paint?
I know this isn't quite what the video is about, but your other video is about this - I recommend a first gen toyota tundra V8. They are extremely reliable, and quite cheap to own. obviously i want you to buy what you want and it is just a suggestion.
Chase Wright they should all have x pipes 👍 but 🤷🏻♂️ I guess the H pipe helps a lot too ! I think it’s a low end power trq and X is higher end HP !?! There’s some vids by the dude’s that do all the ams oil ? Engine masters!
I have the same body style for my 2003. Radiator shroud rusts out but the rest of the truck is solid. Wonder what caused that problem. I bought the panel and welded it in myself but got quoted north of $3k fo the repair
Yes, its worth it. Now I dont need any of those upgrades on my 02lariat crew cab being I prefer stock tires but a little wider with my facctory chrome wheels. But mine os for all concrete city of a jungle,LOL, so stock works. Now being mine has no rust and the paint looks great except I replainted the hood last year, lets say it needed the 4.6 replaced. I wouldnt go with a rebuilt engine, but only a new crate engine and would pay up to 10 grand tops, and it would be worth it. Go figure even a ford ranger with no trim in an extended cab is running for around 34K, So yes its worth it
Rough country… ouch good luck hear bad stuff about them … I have a 2001 four wheel drive 8 inch RCD lift an 37 inch BF good rich !! Nice truck tho bro , wish my truck only had a couple grand in it !! I got 4 grand in just lift
I had a 2003 f150 with a V6 two wheel drive.with 315x75x16 b.f.goodrich tires.i had it for 8 years then sold it 2 years ago.gas just cost too much now days.
Logan Clark 👍crazy👍 I’ve heard a lot have that many miles. People complain about these trucks sometimes but not too many vehicles can pull that off👍 thing is once or if things gets replaced “u” know what has🤙
I got a 2003 with the 5.4 with right at 275k miles and still running strong! I think once they switched to that 3v is when they started getting a bunch of hate with it
We need more I have seen all of the chevys and other in my opinion junk get videos I only watch for Larry because you make good content and don't act dumb 10th gen all the way I'm building my late fathers right now on my channel
In the last video, I think he mentioned getting 6 lug adapters so he can swap wheels/tires between all of his trucks whenever he feels like it. Would be sick if he goes through with it
Lol yes that’s true crowkin over at 100,000. I put a 2006 dodge caravan v6 through 400,000 miles. Car and trucks now days too fast the manufacturer built way too fast.
Caden Owens check me out yo😆 smallest I can only find 16.5x14 but in 8 lug . So here’s what we do 😝 get a 2” 5x135 to 6x135 & a 6x135 to 8x165 with 35x16x16.5 boggers bam 💥 now we got wheels n tires 3’ out 😆😝 did I nail it or what!
Dude I found the perfect wheels for Larry lil spendy American force classic ss 1 👍 they come in 20s 22s $ 24s👍 so they’ll be like what’s on now but updated
