Costco has a very similar one ON SALE for $999. This is $400 off and the website says it is until 3/10. It is the Centr 2 FTX (looks very similar.. maybe it was rebranded?)
Thanks Mark. I have the FTX too. It’s not Arcadia, but it gets the job done. You might check out the Gym Pin or the one Bare Steel makes. They allow you to add weight plates to the stack. I use mine for doing low rows while sitting on my bench.
Thank you for that informative review. I purchased one last year for $999. The delivery was botched, but the machine works great and I am enjoying it a lot. It is "super smooth" like you mentioned. I'm still sorting out the best exercises for me to do on it, especially for chest.
Thank you for watching. It is a solid machine at a good price. I have moved it to a corner and removed the pull up bar because if my short ceiling and even like that it’s solid. I hope you find the chest exercises. I only do flys for chest on it and haven’t experimented too much for that. One day I will set a bench up in front and try to do some chest presses.
yep.....of course I am old enough to remember when it wasn't an issue. Now I go to pick up my pizza and I tell them my name. 20 minutes later they figure out it was there on the shelf the whole time, with the name on the order. They thought somebody wrote it down wrong.......
I haven’t used it as a curl bar but I’m sure it would work! I’ve been really happy with the functional trainer so far. It’s been better than I expected. And no problem I hope it helped
Thanks Mark, a very good review! With the pulleys at their highest point could you measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the carabiners? I also have been looking at the Arcadia and several others.
@ChangelessNow I had analysis paralysis when I was looking for a functional trainer and even told myself I was gonna save up about $2k for the Arcadia but it’s nice having the extra ~$1300 after getting this one used for $800
I get that Mark. I would prefer one of the Rep trainers but there is a point where it is hard to pass up a dramatic price difference. The Centr 2 FTX is currently $1399 at Costco. That's about $600 more than you paid for your Inspire and the same amount less than the Arcadia. I expect to have whatever I buy for a long time which does justify price differences to some extent. At the same time I don't think there is a wrong choice.
Thanks Bill! I was considering upgrading the pulleys to metal ones but it’s already very smooth with the plastic ones it comes with so I don’t know if it’s worth the money to upgrade just yet. If I used it long enough the pulleys and cables could need to be replaced but I think it would be a while before that happens.
They don’t label with the actual weight unfortunately but I’m guessing if the pin is on hole 1 it would feel like 12.5-15lbs. I can do rear delts with it but it feels like a big jump from the pin being off to the pin being in hole 1 for some reason. And yes I can do lat raises with the machine. I have pretty weak shoulders too so the weights might be fine for others
I tried but could not get it to fit sadly. I ended up moving it to another spot and leaving it off and it’s been good. Im not home but I can check the height when I get back.
