Have to say, I'd give a lot to be able to be in the woods again. I'd be happy just cutting firewood, but those days are behind me now, so I get my fix watching you, Wade & Pa. Thanks so much for sharing. Ya'll stay safe.
Good to see you doing the artful cutting in the woods. This was a great video, and showed you being alert to those others surrounding you on that work site. Skillful cutting too. tks
Pete... Mike Morgan sent me here... somehow I hadn’t seen this one. Man alive! That could be the title of this vid. I hate cutting in a crowded woods. You never know when an southbound tree is gonna head north. And when other folks don’t anticipate it... we’ll let’s just say a pinch of disaster becomes a recipe ingredient you don’t want! Thank goodness it didn’t enter into this mix!
Man that's some beautiful timber there nuts👍!! I'd be in heaven if I could cut timber like that. Little miscommunication there but everyone is safe. Stay healthy and safe my friend!!
I've been logging and feeling trees most of my life and I've never seen anyone fall a tree like that before 🤔😬. No holding wood? A gust of wind in the wrong direction and things go bad quick.
Which trees did I cut not leaving holding wood this video was a while ago you’ll have to forgive me just watched it again and I noticed I bored the heart out of a few of them but they all had hinge left. Sometimes as a tree is falling if I’m worried about it rolling and I can do safely I will cut the hinge off as the tree is falling to avoid it from pulling a slab from the butt log
@@nuts319 the last tree didn't appear to have a hinge just the back of the tree holding it from falling, as soon as you made the back cut the tree was free from the stump and any wind could have blown it over. I may be wrong but that's what it looked like in the video. Either way still went down safe.
Not sure if you ever come around Wetzel county west Virginia. I have 200 acres and I bought a hudson sawmill a couple years ago .I just turned 51 today. But I can't cut a tree right . They always go wrong way.
@@nuts319 I have 250 acres on furbee ridge my granddad bought in the 50 s hasn't been timberd since we have owned it. If you are ever out this way would like to meet you. I turned a 1920 barn into a house. I live in it. But not finished.
Cool vid that's some fence rails for sure at least there long as one you had me a little worried when it started making a noise us timber cutters all know what it means when tthat happens
nuts319 I love the 372 . Got one I’m running and I got one from Adam Kratzer a While ago and ended up buying the last one he had in stock so I’m good for a while plus rebuilding one that got crunched.
Was just curious. I dnt remember hearin how the air bridge job went. Did that work out for yall? And i just love that kinda cuttin. Where your thinning it enough you can just wack em n stack em
back in the early nineties I was doing a remnant removal dropping trees out of the thickets, and the porter operator did not look, but I dropped a fir across the cab, snapped the top right off her, thankfully the operator and the porter were not hurt, crazy how quickly it can happen
Tell that fella, "go go go" when someone is felling big timber like that by hand is how people get killed.. People in mechanical logging forget how heavy and hard these trees fa
I remember cutting a hill for 2 648 duel arches they was spread out which left me with about 5 min. to cut inbetween huge poplar well one ended up out of rhythm just as the new guy came into view the biggest poplar already started falling the massive tops slammed across the the arch. The new guy didnt even notice/jump/flinch/look LOL AC on radio up ha
Surely is ALWAYS good to be safe and protect your fellow workers than not. I know a man who wears a metal whistle on his chest to demand attention when its needed ... maybe you can add it ..... & ear plugs? Could not tell if you had any, Hope so. Ears are not a replaceable item ... Ha
Only a decent person would move an innocent tiny creature to a safe location. Just did the same thing last week with field mice in a butt log. I carefully cut it above their nest and moved it where machinery wouldn't hit it. Ridiculous, soft hearted, girly boy bullshit! So I went back at lunch to fix my stupidity! I used marking paint to make sure everyone left them in peace.
@@nuts319 Mike Morgan actually sent me here. I liked the video and watched 2 more. It's official, I'm now a subscriber and I hit that bell. Looking forward to watching more of your stuff. Stay safe.
