something about her suddenly speaking from the cone made me giggle 🤭 she seems so sweet, and i love watching these videos for healthy dieting advice/easy meal ideas.
You are the most encouraging and healthy minded dietician in the world I swear, thank you for doing the work you do and spreading awareness to the world. You're helping heal so many people ❤️🥰
I have learned so so much from your content, and I am so grateful you post these videos that are not just informative but also well rounded and relatable. Thank you ❤
i shop at trader joe’s all the time. I’ve been trying to lose weight lately and have been struggling to get enough protein. those lentils are absolutely going on my grocery list. Would love to see more high protein or low calorie food recommendations from trader joe’s.
I'm down 50 pounds in 10 month. Cut out ALL processed foods. Body fat and weight will melt off. TJs is yummy and convenient, just buy fresh or frozen veggies and fruit. Clean proteins and beans or legumes.
I love the adoration over the mini cones. Those are the first prepackaged ice cream cones I could eat after I learned of an allergy I have. They really mean a lot to me and I'm glad there someone else who loves them.
I appreciate your pov - a lot of dietitians/nutritionists come from the angle of pure limitation, but you are very enthusiastic about the possibilities of food that are healthy for day to day eating. I think it reaches a lot more people that way and they are more open to making adjustments, than feeling like they are obligated to 'punish' themselves which in the long run doesn't produce long lasting change
Omg.... thank you so much for making my life so much easier with your videos 👏😀 am not so stress out what to buy and eat. I'm so happy to have found you😍
i actually just finished my bag of fried rice and im going back to buy more! i love cracking an egg on top before putting it in the microwave. SO good.
This is super helpful!! Thanks for sharing. Shopping list items or go to ingredients are something I regularly struggle to figure out. What to buy and then what to do with it. Thanks again 🙏🏼
The fried rice is one of my OG faves - I bought it during my first TJs haul several years ago and it’s still a regular item. I definitely think it’s an underrated item as I never see it on others’ lists/ hauls.
I add shrimp, carrots, spinach, red bell pepper, soy sauce, sesame oil, umami seasoning to the Japanese fried rice. Sooo good, and one bag makes enough for 3 meals!
Can I just say that make learning how to be healthy just so nice and easy and none judge mental? I really appreciate how easy it is to grasp the concepts and that sometimes there is truly no “bad” food, just food that can be improved to better ones unique health requirements.
I didn’t try roasted seaweed until 2 months ago. Now I’m absolutely in love with it. I have gastritis rn, and eating seaweed with rice and pickled onions is perfect.
I always add that fried rice to my basket. Easiest last minute meal that my daughter has loved since she was 5. When I’m in a real hurry I’ll just add a few eggs to it, for protein.
Looking at these videos, I appreciate Indian food even more ❤️ We eat different kinds of lentil curries every day with veggies, salads and wheat breads like roti or rice. Additionally, we add varied traditional spices, herbs, micro greens, nuts and seeds in these meals. It’s very filling, delicious and super nutritious!
I recently have gained a lot of weight and have hated my body. I was put on a beta-blocker for a heart condition and instantly began gaining weight. I was always very thin and could eat anything I wanted without gaining weight until two years ago when I was 21 and started the medication. Until I started watching your videos I was attempting to cut all gluten, most sugar, and all processed foods, breads, and pasta out of my diet. I would not allow myself to eat dessert. Thank you for giving me hope in my eating journey.
Hi I've worked there almost a decade and have been involved in demo over the years, the lentils mixed with crumbled feta and the fresh bruschetta is a 10/10 lazy snack dip, sandwich topper, side dish etc etc so so good
Wholeheartedly agree about roasted seaweed. I'll even add a couple sheets to burgers. I try to keep myself stocked on it, though it's not the one in the vid. I think the brand I get is Ocean's Halo? or something, and it's like 80 cents at walmart whenever I need to replenish my supply.
Gotta second the Japanese Fried Rice recommendation! I tried making it myself at home from a recipe in Just One Cookbook, and it came out pretty close, but you can’t beat the convenience of just heating up the frozen stuff in the microwave. It’s also low FODMAP which is awesome for me (IBS sufferer)
I LOVEEE those first two products! My mom would buy the ice creams as a sweet treat, and I would get the fried rice as a college student fresh out of my parents' house who didn't know how to cook (I'm doing better now and can actually make half-decent meals now LOL). ngl I'm craving both now haha
I have 6 bags of the Japanese fried rice in my freezer. So good...the seaweed snacks. I have about 50, I use with everything. Love the teriyaki one too
I LOVE roasted seaweed! Doesn't hurt my stomach, very nutritious (a very good pick for vegetarians. It usually has iodine and b12), fun texture, fun look, delicious savory flavor, seaweed is so freaking good. I agree with you, where is the obsession with it??? It's like light chips but actually healthy!
I do love the Japanese fried rice! One of my fave items, along with the roasted seaweed. I guess it naturally appeals to me because I'm Asian lol. But really, anyone can enjoy them
Thanks for the recs!! As for the seaweed--it's pretty bitter sometimes. Which is just a time to adjust to first time you eat it. I love it on things but It took me years to get there. Give me a seaweed salad or seaweed on something and I'm down but I still can't do roasted seaweed by itself.... That said I literally just got used to roasted Dandelion tea this month (similar reasons of bitter but also astringent) so maybe it's time to retry roasted seaweed solo!
Oh my gooood where I live we don't have lots of imported/foreign products or they're expensive. But there's this Korean roasted seaweed kimchi flavour that I'm just going insane for. It's so good. SO GOOD ITS CRIMINAL
If you're vegetarian (not vegan) you shouldn't have much problem getting enough protein :) Lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, wild rice, eggs, cheese, seitan, tofu, peas, quinoa, sprouted and/or whole grain bread, soy milk and oats are all vegetarian (most are also vegan) and all have a decent amount of protein. If you try to have some protein with each meal you'll probably be fine. I'm not a huge fan of beans but I like them in tacos/quesadillas and in chilli so I make these meals quite often since beans are so cheap and healthy (especially if you buy dry beans). You can also add things like pumpkin seeds or goat cheese to salads to add protein. I'm sure you already know this, but maybe my list will give you an idea for a recipe or something :P
As a girl who grew up with her grandmother's friend being an older Japanese woman, I am and have ALWAYS been obsessed with seaweed! It's the best!!!! I put like 4 people on to snacking on seaweed
My parents would get us those huge Costco seaweed boxes & we took them to school everyday! I recently rediscovered the wasabi seaweed from Trader Joe’s & it was sooo good & nostalgic 🥹
