This Engine Swap Runs on ARDUINO!

In today's video I add new features to my custom computer in this engine swap. This diesel swap needed a custom electronic dashboard and I made one using Arduino with a Nextion HMI. Now I need to add more controls to my Arduino system so that it can run my grid heaters. Learning electronics and Arduino can be hard, but I think arduino and PLC can help save a bunch of money over using aftermarket solutions like Holley or Haltech.
Now get out there and build something!

The learning curve in electronics is non linear, great work! Ask me if you need help with electronics, there's a better way to read temperature with termistors but your way totally works. As a side note, I believe grid heaters have to turn off after like 3 to 5 minutes, when the coolant temperature rises, maybe hooking up a coolant temp sensor is the next step 🤔, thanks for featuring the bronco! So happy to see it here, thanks a lot!

Thanks for the clip and allowing me to use it! My hope with the grid heaters is that once the engine is up to temperature the intake will be warm enough they arent needed, especially since the turbo will heat the air up (although the intercooler will cool it down). I'll keep an eye on it and if the grid heaters stay on I may have to get a little fancier. 👍

Awesome job! I’ve only messed with an Arduino once but I liked it

I'm a master ASE certified auto technician, and I always seem to learn something new watching this build. And this video is no exception. Very nice, detailed explanation on how it all works and is coming together! As always, looking forward to the next one!

Your videos keep the heart beating on my build. Currently I have a 6.9 idi with a crap turbo kit and a non overdrive 2wd auto. Currently I’m putting a dodge Dana 60 in the front with custom 4 link. First time on a project like that. Then I have to build my 4x4 c6 because it’s not much better than a core. I’ll be backing it with a gear vendors over drive that I got in pieces. And lastly I should be picking up a mostly completed decompressed 7.3idi motor which I’ll be making my own power stroke style turbo system on. It’s gonna be a long project. Somewhere in this I have to get it over to my buddies shop for paint. Mind you I’m doing all this in my drive way in my nice neighborhood, sorry neighbors.

I like that attitude. I'm never afraid to learn something new (addicted to learning actually). The problem is the tools required for all of these skills takes up a lot of room and now I really want a big shop to work out of. I just noticed you hardly have any subscribers, 1.75k. About the same as me and my vids are fairly lame in comparison. With this level of quality I'm sure that is going to change. I'll subscribe right now.

I'm from the Caribbean and have a nissan 250gt/g25 looking to turbo charge later this year and arduino is the platform ill go with. glad to see you backing up the reliability.

Very cool. The turbo miata I'm helping my little brother build actually uses a speeduino ECU with tuner studio, it seems to work well!
