Your Morning Video was so cute with feeding all the animals. Nugget would look great cozy on the couch with you all covered up watching a movie and eating breakfast and dinner at the table, and staying in the bathroom too long, a new series. You make good decisions very well Brook and Jason, If it ain't broke don't fix it, have a great weekend!
Everytime you show Nugget runnin wonder how come I hear George Jones singin White Lightin? "Now the race is on and here comes Nugget up the back stretch....lol. I absolutely loved this kind of video!! We just hangin and goin on a road trip, thanks!! Blessings y'all!!
Wow watch Nugget go! I love watching Nugget giving and receiving lots of love. Your daughter Is such a bird whisperer. I hear you about that plastic on the tractors. I am so glad they don't make cars like that. I have a small herb garden on my back porch in the summer and bring them into the house in the winter.
We were going to get an L series and after thinking about the loader capacity moved up to a MX without even looking at one. When we went to pick it up I was sure I'd bit off more than I could chew. However, once we got it home and I started using it I adjusted to the size very quickly. I think our land is even more treed than yours is. The kicker is that now I wish I had a larger tractor. But, we will keep on moving on with what we have paid for. I think you will grow in to a larger L very quickly.
Have you guys checked out Mahindra tractors at all? When i got my place, i wanted a Kubota but they were *_much_* too proud of them. I was able to get 10 more horsepower, a front end loader, a boxblade & a bushhog for what the Plain Ol' Kubota was going to cost me. And of course, John Deere are proud of their green paint. And she has been a HOSS!
You are right about John Deere, But they do last a long time and hold their resale value well. My dad has a TYM subcompact, the problem with it is getting repair parts quickly, the dealer has to order them from overseas.
I've had a slew of Kubota Tractors over the years based on needs. Since you guys have the BX23 series and you're looking to go a bit bigger, check out the B series such as a B2601. You'll only gain a couple more horsepower but you'll have more ground clearance. You may gain lift capacity with the loader, but you'll have to check the specs. Kubota sometimes puts the same loaders on different models. BX series is the smallest, then B series than L series. Since you've determined the L2501 to be too big, look at the B series. But sometimes the specs (such as lift capacity) aren't much different than a BX series, so you'll be paying for a new tractor with not much more capacity than what your current BX has. You will have more ground clearance with a B series
she said after this storm they thought they need a bigger one the one she has worked great but time for a bigger one but i think the one she has works great for them just my thoughts lol
I have owned both the JD1025R and the JD2038R. Highly recommend the JD 2038R. But whatever you go with, you can't go wrong with buying your wife a new bigger tractor!!!
Thank you so much for doing the research on the John Deere. We are moving to Valley Grande from Ohio and the first thing my husband is buying is a tractor. He has always had green ones . He can't bring his old 3020 down and wanted a smaller one. But not plastic! There are woods on the property and he wants to make some trails. Anyway I'm happy to find out your favorite nursery. I'm going to love love the warmer weather. So excited for the longer growing season and you guys are so inspiring.
Oh my gosh does Nugget love Mrs. Cog, it is the sweetest! I always look forward to Nugget helping with the water chores and getting his bit of food before you feed the others as his bath in the kiddie pool. Rent a larger one when it is needed or rent it and try and see if you can use it in the places you need to use it and park it as well. I love your video's and love when they are longer for us to see. You all have a peaceful Sunday and give Peaches a scratch for me ~peace!
I have watched a LOT of Cog Hill Farm videos over the last 4 years, and have enjoyed all of them. But this one is amongst the top 3. Just watching and listening to your family dynamics, and the absolute love that I can feel between all of you is so obvious and pure. This and the content. Sure a bigger tractor would be so useful and fun for many applications, but you would still need the small tractor for using in the woods. Then there is the practicality of storing 2 tractors. Even if you could get by with just the larger tractor, it wouldn't fully fit into the she shed where the small tractor is currently stored. So then you have to build a bigger shed to store it, which I would include into the cost of the tractor. (This scenario ignores the time and farm space of building another shed.) So now you have an even more expensive tractor, that you don't actually need. Mrs. Cog Hill's decision to keep making due with the tractor she has instead of going bigger, or purchasing laterally just to have the nicer new tractor of the same size , but with the metal body parts, is heartwarming. Sure it may have been somewhat disappointing, but she looked satisfied with her decision. We need more people like her is this world. And more like Jason, and more children brought on with the love and morals they are teaching Mary Carl.
I’m new to watching your videos and I absolutely LOVE them. Your family warms my heart. I catch myself smiling while watching. I find it remarkable that MaryCarl remembers the names to all of your beautiful animals. I was love to have an Emu but after watching Nugget run the farm there’s no way I have the yard for that. Haha I look forward to more videos in the future. God bless!!
Or, look at cost of replacement of JD plastic vs Kubota metal. Plastic scratches. Metal dents. But what's under the hood is the most important thing, and the guys in the shop who might be working on it. Which dealership in your area has the best service/maintenance reputation. JD and Kubota are both excellent machines. My 2 cents...
I am loving these longer videos, especially since Mrs. Cog Hill is more involved. As far as the tractor goes, why not get the bigger one and keep the smaller one you already have. We use two tractors all the time. There are uses for each size, and you already have the one, so doesn't cost you any more.
Nugget cracks me up. He sets in his pool then gets his 2/55 air conditioning going. 2 feet down going 55 mph around the yard. 😆. Gotta love nugget's zoomies 😆
Hi from Australia, love your channel. Emu are solitary birds they only come together to mate. Dads raise the chicks then as chicks grow they disperse to find their own territory. Nugget will be fine as a single pet.
I like John Deere products but the company has crossed the line with the Right to Repair legal issues. I can't support them if they are screwing over farmers who want to do their own maintenance.
It’ll be in an upcoming episode on my channel, but I just bought a new tractor. My first one ever, it’s a John Deere 3039R with a loader and snow blower. Ur lucky u don’t really need to have a cab down there, but mine has a full cab with ac and heat. Expensive though. 😂 I don’t want to freeze my butt off when I’m clearing ❄️. I’m excited to start showing off what it can do on my channel.
Could we please have more sessions with nugget like nugget time or something let me not coffee with the nugget but that was so neat how we all just sitting around talking he is one of the coolest animals I just love watching him on you please run around makes me laugh and brings a lot of joy I live in assisted-living home I am we’re on lockdown for many many months now so RU-vidrs with my escape and y’all are one of my favorite families you are such a hoot a sweet loving family everybody cares about each other and I just love Mary Carl she is precious OK thanks for sharing your family and your life with us I am really grateful for it thank you very much God God bless y’all

11-7-20,hey 👋 mrs.cog hill, before you go tractor 🚜 shopping you better get your piggy 🐷 bank that you're parents gave you and take it with you, ha,ha,he,he, please don't ever take what I say seriously, I'm only joking around, I love 💘 you all.
11-7-20,hey 👋 every one, I think you all should look at a Komatsu 500,rubber tires, it can do anything you want, but it won't fit on your little trailer, you would have to get a low-boy,to haul it around, just kidding, high every one, Jason, Mrs. Cog Hill, hey Mary carl, my buddy nugget ❤, and Arlo, simsim, and all the other animals ❤, I love 💘 you all,and if I win the lottery I'm going to buy you-all, a generack generator to have, for the next big storm.
Take a look at the Kubota LX series, and check out the videos from Messicks. They have a lot of great comparison videos on all the Kubota tractors. All the best!
My wife’s from the 🇵🇭 and on our farm I’m teaching my ducks to go to bed by shouting “Tulugan Na!” Every night. It’s been 3 months and they don’t get it 100% of the time but I’ll still keep training them.
Stephen Hubines yeah, out of my 20 ducks I have 9 drakes so I’ll be roasting some cause I’m only going to keep 2 makes as my breeders. I hoping to hatch some on my own next spring.
Stephen Hubines I’ve probably been to the 🇵🇭 over 20 times, I luv it there, we’re in Calamba, laguna. Lots of hot spring resorts there. Very beautiful.
Here's an uninformed thought from Africa.... If Kubota have upgraded their models .. and now use metal shells ...could it be possible that they sell engine hoods and wheel guards etc.. as spare parts.. and.. that those metal spare parts will fit your older model...maybe?
Always watch your video first. Enjoy the interaction of the family. Never fuss at each other. Each has their likes and the others always support each other.
Look hard at that 1025r. The plastic holds up great on it and I am very rough on mine. Use it clearing brush a lot. Never even cracked one. Look HARD!! Mine is best purchase I have ever made. I am 65 and love your channel!
If you would ever buy an other tractor, see to it that it's repairable on your own (at least theoretically) and that there is no software to it that would disallow that. John Deere is known for that. I've heard about this looking videos from Louis Rossmann (NY) about initiatives for Right to Repair. Best regards from Germany.
Good morning I have a question for your daughter about my chickens. I've had them for a few months point of lay (sussex) we have been getting 3/4 eggs on a regular basis but one gal has gone broody putting the others off. I have separated her with the old method of 3 days no food and some water. She's off the brood but is still aloof and now a month latter still only 1 or 2 eggs. How do I get the girls back to laying??? They have top quality laying mash as much green lick and scrapes they can take but still no more eggs. Is it because they are in their first lay or???? Thankyou so much for your time!
It’s prob just this time of year. Chickens have a laying cycle and need sunlight to lay eggs, so as the year winds down, so does their egg production, so I’m betting come spring she will be back full force
I agree Cog Hill my birds always slow down November, December then puck back up in the spring. I’m going to try lights but I’ll be okay if they just need a break. I know they are all young so just wait.
It’s your summer right? They may be too young lol and we’re too impatient (me included) give them another month. I feed black sunflower seeds, oats, corn and commercial mash. It’s coming up to winter here but they are still laying for now.
I personally have that tractor. Absolutely pleased with it and they have great prices. A lot of people are afraid of LS because it's a only been around for about a decade. They have a Mitsubishi diesel in them, and they've been around forever so I was not concerned.
I have a 2501 HST 4wd and t's the perfect size. The additional lift capacity and lift height will allow you to do so much more, like lifting round bales and bulk feed totes.
Went to a lecture once about ostrich. They also have a dew claw on each wing. We were told it was for defense. They will flog with their wings as well as use their feet against predators. In more "prehistoric" versions of our lg. flightless birds the claw was more pronounced. I've also heard speculation that, since their ancestors couldn't fly, the dew claws helped them climb into trees to roost. Maybe someone out there knows.
Good morning. 🤗 Your place is looking good. Nugget is quite the bird!! 👍😊 Yes, sometimes it is best to wait.👍 Corn bread is yummy. You folks have a blessed day. ☝️🙏
Sorry. Last comment! If you visit our Tractor Playlist you'll see little-me stacking round hay bales. Our tractor is all metal, lifts 2000lbs and looks smaller than the one you were sitting on. Our 13 y/o sister drives it the most! I really think you will like it. Good luck!
We got a Bx2200 and it is a hoss but last year we found a used low hour bx2500D with not only the bucket but the backhoe on Marketplace for $14K and the paint wasn't even but off the engine! THAT is the one you should get Brooke. It goes up in our woods just fine and is still small enough to get her done and think about all the things you could do with a backhoe attachment! They are both all-metal too!
Told my husband yesterday I wanted a tractor for Christmas 😆 we have one but it's a bit to big for me and it can't get it to where I need to get it to!
