this game just keeps getting BETTER!? - Detroit: Become Human #2 

A person can only take so much before they snap and I think that’s just exactly what happened with the deviant connor investigated. Even if he isn’t human, he’s been designed to act human and Kara shows that they do actually have emotions to an extent. Taking all that abuse, he finally just snapped and wanted to escape.

I don't know if someone has explained this already or if you're even gonna see this comment lol. But the way I understand androids reacting to "pain" despite not feeling pain (I may wrong though, just my interpretation) is that for regular androids, they probably experience something like glitches or yk...the system gets a little rattled for a few seconds. As for deviants, they probably experience that plus emotional pain...fear and horror, humiliation etc, when being abused or injured.

Honestly so glad to be watching Clare's playthrough of this, I'm seeing scenarios that I've never got to before. You could have saved Carl at that scene with Markus, all Leo gets is a bump in the head if you push him; which is always better than someone dying. It's also a good example that not every confrontational reaction/decision will have negative results! I've never seen the scenario where Kara kills Todd before! I've also never seen the scenario where Connor misses Kara/Kara gets away so easily! It usually always gets to the chase scene from what I've watched! It's been awesome so far and I always get super stressed about the decisions Clare might make, lol! Definitely get Hank to like Connor! It's important!!

her missing the point of the “become human” aspect of the game makes this hard to watch 😭

I don't know if you've heard this advice before but I'd recommend skipping reading the books you can miss exploring VERY important areas that are time sensitive.

i think it'll help clare a lot more if she stopped thinking of it as flesh vs robo, and realize the title is there for a reason. "become human" is the whole moral of the game! also, deviants arent bad! not always, especially not our mains

It really goes to show how blindly hateful us humans can be when We saw Hanks anti-android slogans on his desk, only to later state that he "doesn't know anything about androids". This game does a rlly good job at representing the misrepresentations in the media etc. Loving the game!!!

I'm such a big baby!! I feel so deeply for all the main characters. I know they ain't human but when Markus call Carl dad I cried so much. Alice also breaks my heart when she is talking to Kara about why her Dad didn't love her and trying to understand what she did wrong. I held my baby a little tighter hoping she never feels that way.

It was a valuable life lesson from the game's perspective, and that is why the good outcome at this moment is to disobey Carl and defend, and nobody would have died that way. Those words and message are so important, that are his dying words in the bad choice: *don't let anybody tell you who you are* The player can disagree with the angle the game wants to follow (androids deserve rights just like humans) but because it is going against the goal, the game punishes you again at again. Either the player swift perspectives and pick choices to adapt to the narrative the game wants, or still disagree and embrace the bad ending. 2:11:30 The _survey_ triggers after the chapter with Kara, when they pretty much consolidate their relationship as _family_ And that is why people vote yes, because voting no would mean they don't want Kara with Alice, either. Even if the game started with that hostage situation, that is _old news_ so to speak. Sure, is asking about real life and not fantasy, but the emotional influence is there as that just happened.

Just a little FYI. Hanks voice is Clancy Brown aka Mr. krabs. After I was told his thats all I could hear when Hank speaks.

IMO it’s not different. The last scene with connor and the one with kara are both good examples. You can’t just go through life in that world assuming that humans are all good. You can’t do that in our world either. There’s always going to be bad people and even if they’re robots, they’ve shown multiple times that they have emotions. I think Markus should’ve defended himself.

But Clare... what if you're married to Connor android and you needed him to look after your kids? Wouldn't that be an exception to the no children looked after by android thing?

Love that you're playing this game, I watched Bryan Deckart play it when it first launched, honestly it's so bizarre as they did an amazing job on the motion capture and his Connor voice is so similar to his normal voice. Him and his wife stream a variety of games on Twitch. I don't catch the streams much anymore which is why RU-vid is great.

Most people don't realise you can meet RA9 in the junk yard episode but well done for finding her. Her origin story can be found in the extras as she was an original Kara model.

I think reacting to pain they dont even feel is another program to further humanize them, or even to make sure they couldn't over power humans. In case of malfunction a human could still fight back ya know?

But Connor is programmed to get along with his colleagues, so he does everything to avoid unnecessary dispute. but yeah, my thought is either that he has a pain response to discourage humans from damaging him, or Reed sort of “winded” him by punching him right in the thirium pump, which basically functions as a pacemaker. So either he faked it or his heart stopped for a sec and his body was like “wait wtf.”

I didn’t see a comment or anything like that so I’ll explain lol so the Singing Kara that you found in the junkyard is actually a little easter egg Quantic Dream put in the game! They made a short video titled „Kara” back in 2012 I believe, and it was used to demonstrate Quantic Dream’s new game engine. at the beginning it was stated as concept only and not taken from any software currently in the development, but i guess the video somehow inspired QE to actually make the full game. Bc of the video many people think the titular Kara to be rA9 tho

I have watched so many people play Detroit: Become Human (love this game!) and I have never seen these endings before - Connor's interrogation scene ending with the other android answering questions and still alive, Kara shooting Todd (although she shouldn't have done that!), sneakily stealing and then staying in the motel, not getting chased by Connor and finally escaping onto the train. It's amazing how different this game's story can be when played by someone else. I am, however, a little worried because to get the best endings you need to be really on it with quickly pressing the right buttons for some of Connor and Markus' scenes (they can die if you fail the wrong one) so Clare needs to ignore the livestream chat and focus on the game when those come up. Best of luck, Clare!

it would be so freaking cool if you made Connor, Kara, and Markus in the Sims!! maybe even add Hank in the mix too. Anther cool idea is building Carl's house! Loving this playthrough!! i also stole the clothes, robbed the cashier, and stayed at the motel during my first playthrough, but i did NOT feel bad about it lol. My thought process was, i need to get Alice in a warm safe spot and it didn't matter how I did it lol. This is my first time actually watching a playthrough of this game in real time. I've always been able to binge watch over a few weeks (or less) since the playthrough would already have been completed by the time i found it. It's exciting to have to wait and anticipate the next video instead of having the instant gratification of clicking the next video right away. :)

It's interesting that even though this is my third time seeing this gameplay, it still looks different. I have never seen the motel scenario and the 'no chase' part.

I don't think the androids are supposed to feel emotions but they've developed them through their experiences, becoming more human.

I love that I'm watching this. I've seen two other players and everyone always has such different outcomes its so interesting! Like I only knew about the abandoned car and house. I'm so happy Clare didn't end up there I remember them being scary and not having the best morning situation. I'm going to go back and play myself now to see what happens if I steal the clothes first and then ask the guy for help! I wish I knew Clare was playing this live I would have been in the comments talking with her. Can't wait to see how the ret of this game goes!
