Scarlet Nexus is like one of those dreams where nothing makes sense but you think it's all perfectly normal until you wake up, then you realise how weird everything was.

This game has the exact same vibes as opening up a high fantasy book for the first time and getting hit by sixteen different new words every three sentences. And eventually you grow to understand the made up nonsense words, but this, this I just…..I don’t think my brain has ever felt like it’s been put through a blender before then spit back into my head but this game mimics what that must feel like.

i love that the whole message of this game is that you cant change the past or bring the dead back to life and the ending has the main antagonist change the past to bring his GF back to life with 0 consequence.

This game seemed like it said so many words and yet said absolutely nothing.

Yuito's story makes the game a lot more understandable. Kasane is basically playing the B-side of a story that gives you less context because it assumes you already know everything and played the A-side.

This game is a fever dream that makes absolutely zero sense. And i slightly love it for it but also gosh does it hurt to listen too.

The thing that makes no sense about this game is that they create combat to revolve around dodging but then give enemies (especially bosses) the ability to turn DURING their attack animations.

I unironically love Scarlet Nexus for how utterly batshit nonsense it is. My favorite hook to a sequel, where a protagonist goes "my plan for the future is to Fight The Moon" with zero irony. Also, Kasane absolutely rules as an anime protagonist. Just completely deadpans everyone she knows into oblivion, including the male protagonist

Yeah this is made by the company that made God Eater and Code Vein. They've previously tried to hint that the reason their games are all so similar is because they share a universe, which if so damn am I glad I don't live in that universe.

the two absolute best types of Shen content 1. Shen is having an amazing time and having so much fun that its wonderful to watch. 2. Shen is having an ongoing mental breakdown and not even an intervention from god himself could stop it. EDIT: I did also play this game a couple years back and honestly man, Yuito's story is probably the better one since its slightly less batshit, but only by like 10% because he is equally just as fucking baffled and confused by the entire everything around him as the player is, he has high amount of himbo energy

I just kept imagining myself as the one character who turns against the whole team, but not because they get corrupted or anything, because they're so fuckin done with everybody's garbage and just decides, "Nah it's not worth putting up with this, I'm killing everyone." Especially if they keep being pushed to put on cat ears by the main character. That would certainly make them snap.

i love this game. it's that special kind of insane anime bs that i adore. also, some of the coolest monster designs ive ever seen in a game, not to mention the fantastic ost~ i really hope we get a sequel one day that wont have to be developed in the middle of a pandemic lol

I went 12 minutes in and she's lost her goddamn mind off rip I love this channel.

Started playing Yuito's route because of this video and I've been having a lot of fun, actually. I don't understand why the devs allowed you to choose Kasane first, Yuito is clearly the intended route for a first playthrough. Plot is still stupid, but it's more comprehensible this way. The rest of the game is actually quite fun if you have a decently high tolerance for anime BS. Good music, map design, and combat, but there's a lot of minor nitpicks I have like weird voice direction, random typos, and the lack of proper 3D cutscenes. Too bad the C19 lockdown messed with development so much. Solid 7/10. Needed like two more years in the oven and it could've been peak.

I watched all of this and I still don’t know what the story was. Seriously, what the hell even happened? Every story element shown in these videos seems entirely disconnected with no inference being able to tie everything together. This game is an example of writers wanting to write twists, not endings. They put way too many ideas into it and didn’t know themselves what to do with all of it.

Honestly tempted to redownload the game and try playing it again. Perhaps I may actually enjoy it XD
