This Gargoyles Episode was BANNED! #shorts
#lostmedia #banned #bannedcartoons #gargoyles #bannedgargoyles
Do you remember the cartoon Gargoyles? The cartoon featured a group of Gargoyles that had been frozen in stone for centuries and now protect the humans that once feared them. The show was typically family friendly, but one episode was deemed so offensive that it was banned! The episode is called "Deadly Force" and we'll be covering it today!

What really surprised me was Elisa taking responsibility for what happened. And later in the series she is shown keeping her weapon in a safe box. It’s not just a nice touch of continuity but it also shows that Elisa LEARNED from this experience.
@Pentarax
@Pentarax 7 дней назад
@@SeanMcReynolds025 The character progressions from that episode are great. Similarly, any time the Gargoyles encounter bad guys using firearms afterwards, Broadway's usually the first to charge, and the first thing he does is crush the guns and render them unusable.
@karimah8687
@karimah8687 2 года назад
This was the best way to teach about gun safety in a way that appeared natural and not forced. It wasn’t a pro or anti gun message. It was about being responsible. Elisa made the mistake of becoming complacent with her weapon. Broadway made the mistake of playing with Elisa’s gun. They both faced the results of their mistakes. Elisa nearly died and Broadway nearly lost a friend.

This has changed since the original comment. The episode IS still present, thankfully, but the scene in the kitchen *has* been slightly edited, with the shots of Elisa laying in a pool of her own blood zoomed in to hide said blood. Far as I can tell, that was the only change. Honestly, I can live with that. Not a big fan of censorship in general, but it really doesn't take away from the gravity of the situation.

There's two important messages here, one don't mimic what you see in movies cause he was imitating the western movie, two real guns are not a toy and should never be played with. You have to have a gun cause of your profession like Elise, leave it at work or lock it up at home. One moment of carelessness can mean life or death.

@embearasedbear3694 What if said gun was loaded, and while playing with it, you accidentally shot someone close to you like Broadway did to Eliza? The episode was teaching how to be responsible for things in your possession, regardless of whether or not it is a firearm. And besides, if your weapon is simply out and about in your home, if someone breaks in, they can either steal the weapon, or they can take it so that you can use it to defend yourself. You should think things through a little better, sir.

Started watching this for the first time last night and just finished this one. I was absolutely shocked, and now I appreciate that this episode wasn’t left out from Disney+. I assumed Broadway would always be the stereotypical “Fat Eater” archetype, and I’m guessing he’ll still be that way in episodes where he doesn’t have a major role. However, I truly cared about his arc in this episode and loved how he didn’t have anyone he could try and get revenge on like Goliath did. Broadway knew it was his own fault, so he waged war on guns instead.

Interesting facts: when the idea for gargoyles was being made it was originally meant to be like the Gummie Bear series. Apparently the gargoyles were meant to be small likable mischievous creatures that would have adventures in 90’s New York. Don't know why this episode was banned, especially with a message that people of all ages need to hear. They show both the good and bad use of a tool used for both protection and harm. Elisa is a detective, and uses a gun to protect herself and those she serves, however even she forgot that bullets don't discriminate between friend or foe. Broadway never grew up with the weapon, and learned a hard lesson about touching other's property, and that people outside the movies get hurt. Tony Drakon is the bad side of a gun; he only interested in lining his pockets, not caring who his weapons hurt.

I saw this episode when I was young, it scared me a bit but it was a good life lesson at the same time. I wish they didn’t ban this episode, I believe it sent a very important message to our youth “Guns are not toys, They are dangerous.” It’s accidents like this which is why there is a reason we practice gun safety.

Oh yeah I remember this episode when I was a kid it taught me never to play with guns I'm happy I saw this episode because my stepfather had it a gun under his couch that me and my brother knew about but thanks to this episode I told my handicap holder brother that it could actually kill someone and so we never touched it So I'm happy they never banned this episode it's teaches kids don't play with guns and don't point your gun at someone even though it's not loaded or if it's not real

Now this is a show I wish would either get picked up and continued or rebooted respectfully.

Still traumatizing to this day on that episode

This does look pretty graphic, but it wasn't a depiction of gun violence. That's non-existent. It more shows us not to play with guns and I'm surprised they didn't look at her from a different angle in this episode.

This wasn't actually banned, the episode is still there and it's on Disney + and the graphic scenes were not removed.

I didn't have cable growing up but I did have a vhs Of the gargoyle's show that only had A handful of episodes on it. This was one of the episodes. I watched it probably a 100 times.

Funny I remember watching that episode on Disney+ before and believe me that was dark, but at least Elisa survived and forgives broadway for what happened.

I just watched that episode last night. It’s really deep and you can watch further on through the season as his distaste for guns deepens.

That was not bad here in the United States I seen the episode. Now this episode was a good message about being responsible with firearms. Is Disney did ban it then they are stupid for this
