I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Old GMOD shit was literally made with the intention to be funny. To make people laugh. 3rd party Skibidi Toilet and Lankybox n shit are actually crafted to prey on the attention spans of children in order to farm money. It’s intention.

Apparently these fuckers took the same film class as me when they were in highschool. My film teacher literally praised them for their work and used one of their videos as an example of what we should be like because they were his "Best students to date". That was a few years ago. They've truly fallen from grace lmao

One time, Lankybox made a video reacting to all the episodes of Murder Drones (another Glitch Productions show). The Murder Drones Fandom blasted the video so hard that Lankybox never touched Murder Drones again.

This feels dystopian, I can’t help but be reminded of those commercials you see in the movies where they want to show the future is fubar.

13:09 The difference between the "slop" back then (like Gmod Idiot Box) and the slop now is that the videos back then weren't trying to shill their own merch or have really vibrant colors to catch the eye of any 3 year old scrolling past or use popular characters in order to try and get accepted by the RU-vid Algorithm. They were just trying to be funny. And while generally the videos of old may not be as funny as they once were due to people's sense of humor changing over time, the videos now are just awful and will remembered by the kids who watched them as being awful.

I've seen this clip of a Lankybox video where the 2 of them play a psychological horror game on Roblox called Jim's Computer. At the end, the main character ends up shooting themselves and one of the Lankybox dudes said that a DOORS (another Roblox game) entity killed them.

Lankybox used to be decent when they made low budget movies and songs, now they are trying to make money by selling their soul to the skibidi devil and holding their editors hostage.

The difference between old brain rot and new brain rot, is that old brain rot was (likely) made for the genuine fun of it, they genuinely thought it was funny at the time. New brain rot, on the other hand, is clearly made to take advantage of children’s psychology to maximise engagement and ad revenue. So, at least I believe, old brain rot is genuinely better.

I think what makes Max0r's videos more appealing than Lankybox is the fact that at least Max0r's voice is more calming and his editing skills, while overwhelming, doesn't break the boundaries of having high contrasted colors every second, (to an extent at least...), but Lankybox... yeah, it's just sensory overload to the max, high contrasted colors of the rainbow almost every single frame, complete with the obnoxious "youtuber voice" it physically hurts me, as if I'm gonna have an epileptic episode I fear for the younger generations' mental state...

The main difference that i think from the old type of content that we watched when we were younger from todays , is mainly the age difference ., i encountered these type of videos at around 12 years ild , a lot of time most kids that watch youtube videos aren't even 5 I work as a waiter in an resort and i saw kids , that couldn't even walk being clued to their tablets while being feed by their mothers .

I hate the whole "Why are you hating the new stuff when the old stuff you liked was no better" topic because it's always brought up while completely ignoring one thing: Purpose. Videos of the past like Idiot Box were made with passion in mind, someone wanting to put effort into making content for the sake of making something they want. But modern rot videos are all just churned-up algorithm bait and money farms abusing bright colors and sounds to sell merch and get revenue off children. Not to mention, MLG videos were nowhere near as plentiful as today's modern Brain Rot content, and weren't the topic of people's childhoods. Ask a person today what they grew up on and they'd probably say Vanoss or Venturiantale, or Yogscast, or Skydoesminecraft, or something along those lines. But this slop content is what modern Ipad kids will be growing up on, not friends having fun and playing games, or content created by someone passionate or wanting to show them having fun, but overstimulation from bright colors and energetic sounds that would give anyone a seizure regardless if they're epileptic or not.
