its so refreshing to see another person who appreciates the "toys". a lot of other reviewers (no shade to them) only view these as adult collectibles and dont appreciate the fun of them enough in my opinion. nice channel :)
warbotron is a adult collectible. I see what you're trying to say, but warbotron is mainly made for shelf display, if you play with him he will break a lot easier than Hasbro transformers. also, the customization and precautions you need to take when handling him are definitely not suitable for children
Watch out with onslaught back tabs that connect with the big guns, they stress quite easily and will break eventually. And watch out with blastoff clear plastic cockpit joint, mine broke with no warning.
"onslaught back tabs that connect with the big guns" that's scary man, I LOVE that bot and transformed him a ton of times and put the guns on. I'll be sure to be a bit more careful. No stressmarks on mine yet. (though I seem to have a different version I think I got jinbao OS KO onslaught has yellow/orange eyes)
@@computerstuff8352 the jinbao one has some mold diferences, and maybe has bettet tolerances. Mine is the original mold, and the onslaught guns peg to his back too snuggly and can break sadly. Mine has some. Defects also, so maybe doesnt happen to everyone
@@gamerz181 ah yea they aren't very snug on the jinbao. They drop off quite often. I've put them on A TON of times. I wanted the big size.....im shallow man....size matters xD
@@gamerz181 thinking about finishing the trinity of cheap combiners and getting the jinbao predaking. Also own gravitybuilder. Know anything about it? xD
I love swindle, he’s my favorite from this set. When I got my figure, I got too excited and didn’t take any precautions. I ended up damaging the connector ports of Blast Off and Onslaught. I asked the seller if I can get a replacement part, and they ended up sending me a brand new figure, WITHOUT sending back the first figure. Now I have two Warbotron figures, one still in packaging, and I’m very grateful for both. This is an awesome set.
I was actually about to say. I got the reissue figure last year and the only problem I had was the connector port with Blast Off. I just shaved it down and it was good from there.
Watch out for the ratchets in the combiner feet, they are clear plastic and had a problem of cracking. There used to be a replacement ratchet on Shapeways
I got it straight from Ebay and straight from the source. I know you've ordered yours but take a look on ebay and see if you can't cut out the middleman and save some money. On Ebay they're referred to buy the manufacturer JinBao and they call it "Bruticus Oversized Warbotron" I got mine last year and the shipping wasn't bad. Probably no worse then Big Bad Toy store. Also note the one on BBTS doesn't come with the weapon that's displayed with it. The " X-ray & Gun Set" Everything else is the same. It's a kick ass display piece.
I was very skeptical when I ordered the KO, a few years back. Thing is still as fun an awesome as the day I got it. Well worth more than the $130 I paid.
@@aaronsmith9651 Unfortunately he does not scale with my other figures. Ouch. I do not own any Masterpieces or Masterpiece-like figures. I am not interested in them.
Hey man new sub here. Really enjoy your reviews/ shorts/etc You got an amazing deal on warbotron! He cost a lot more than that a few years ago. I ended up with the oversized jinbao version and WOW! Masterpiece scale, just as big as the jinbao devastator! Plastic quality on both is superb. I got the green jinbao devastator and bruticus both for 250$(us) shipped. I have a few sellers in china I trust that I go to on ebay. The figures look awesome with my mp decepticons. Stylized or not, I know exactly who they are and I love the details.
Interesting to note that the oversized KO also has that problem with the nail-killingly tight connector. Guess its inherent to the mold instead of it being a spring problem.
@That Toy Guy, I have a really cool and funny unofficial meme mode for another transformer, it’s the battle slash from potp with the battle trap head, or the battle trap combiner with the battleslash head. :)
This set is so good, I highly recommand it. I own the jinbao one and damn, that combined is just chef kiss, almost as tall as constructor but just small enough to be perfect with both mainline and masterpiece
@@meganura1559 I do the other Combaticons in their combiner wars molds and I implement those color schemes into Bruticus Onslaught-knockoff toy reviewed by Thew Adams Blast Off and Vortex-original Fall of Cybertron toys mixed with G2. Swindle-G2 mixed with another custom Brawl-desert colors
I got this set recently and noticed that brawls combined mode is bigger then swindles so he stands extremely cockeyed, am i mistransforming them or was this just an oversight? i have everything tabbed in and locked into place so it seems to be transformed properly
I love mine. I got the oversized ko when it hit sale a couple of years ago. Only issue I've really had is breaking the tab on the side panel for brawl. but it's not really necessary so you hardly notice. Just be careful what order you try and transform him in. derp.
Honestly that's to be expected with oversized KOs. Especially old ones. They are generally made of lower quality plastic, which as assumed, doesn't work that well on a large scale.
Where can I find this warbotron figure because I like it and no disrespect to the KO oversize but there's something about the original figure that I like over the KO oversize.
I’m not sure if you’ve already said this but one thing that makes transformers fans or maybe just me but what makes me cringe is when they toys have fake pieces
The Swindle...that face literally screams Animated Swindle moreso than G1 Swindle. Then again, so do Combiner Wars & Unite Warriors Swindle. The vehicle mode easily evokes the super ancient Fansproject Swindle (the one that was made with a Blastoff to replace two of the limbs on Energon/RotF Bruticus). Can the tailfins on Blastoff be split open outward? Think of how one of the CW Aerialbots look in jet mode. Oh, you REALLY gotta get the Jinbao oversized KO. The size kinda fits in with Masterpiece, though the visual aesthetic certainly doesn't...just like the Jinbao Devastator and Predaking.
I might get the set not for combine mode (cause I dont have any room) but for the robot modes cause I like the robot modes and vehicle modes. Also please review more transformers planet x figures
The one thing i dont like about combiners is they is alot of them come with extra parts to make them look how they should. Id rather them be parts of the actual toys rather than extra bits in the box. Weapons are a different matter.
My only gripe with Warbotron is that at least with my copy, the connector that hooks Blast Off onto Onslaught was way too tight (Bought mine used combined, would not have been an issue if i had bought Onslaught and Blast Off new), and does not disconnect. also the clear plastic on Blast Off's cockpit broke. But I haven't had any of the problems that you had. I do wish that they were true scramble city style. But most third party combiners don't.
you got lucky my blast off got stuck to onslaught and he wouldn't disconnect I had to slice him off, he turns into the spaceship and robot mode fine but bruticus just doesn't have a left arm anymore. Beside that the figures are amazing.
Maybe things changed. I was buying the warbotron toys as they came out. Something snapped on the first transformation of each. So I still have those three.......never completed the thing. One snap was minor...but seemed like it shouldn't have.......the next two I handled as carefully as I could and those were both major. (literally meaning the final gestalt would have issues. It was a long time ago and I still have all three figures I bought........in their respective boxes. This literally killed any trust I had in 3rd party companies until just recently. I'm not a collector, I'm a 45 year old man trying to make up for shit from his childhood. I have found some. Some have been abject failures. 2 years of my childhood my foster brother was allowed transformers......as the foster kid. Clothes were my "gift". (because without the foster parents that was the "most I could have hoped for and should be happy about") It's a weird situation and I can't explain it. The three warbatron figures annoyed me to hell. It's also kind of weird. I only get the urge to delve into transformers every 5-7 years. I don't give any fucks about the non-animated movies or the toys.
Eww you have to take parts off for the combination? That’s like parts forming but in reverse. But the final product. That combination! I just love it! It’s kinda worth it. Do wish Brawl had some meatier treads. He looks like he’s been extreme dieting in robot form.
So I find this guy to scale well with modern Hasbro stuff, but I don’t have enough Masterpiece figures to compare it to, how would you say he scales? Is there a different Bruticus who looks better height wise in comparison to say….MP Megatron, or MP-10
I'm pretty sure the OSKO version scales better with Masterpiece, but beware as that version has worse plastic, it's more unstable, and is overall, in my opinion, a worse figure.
