Angelina was seven years old through most of her Norway’s Got Talent performances. She had just turned eight years old when she won the competition. This is her third performance of the four she had.

She has stated many times that singing is like breathing for her. The album that is coming out is the first one under Republic Records. It will be all originals. So far she has released a single and an EP with 6 songs, which includes the single, from that album. She was one other Album - Its Magic - that was released several years ago. I’m glad you’re having such a wonderful time listening to her beautiful voice. Angelina s first NGT audition gloomy sunday was an aged 7 , all the rest were aged 8 .

This was Angelina's performance in the semi-finals at Norway's Got Talent and her first after turning 8 years old. She sang "Summertime" in the Finals and won with 46% of the votes from the TEN finalists. I think Angelina captured the sad mood of "Bang Bang" far better than any other I have heard. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Of course, most adults can't really sing, so ANYONE who sings well (even a child) will sound better than most adults. That said,Angelina has been astounding from a very young age.

No, she's not a returning guest here. Angelina was 7 when she first auditioned but various other auditions and elimination rounds took place over several weeks between her first and subsequent performances so that she was 8 by the time the final came around. This round would decide which 10 acts would go through to the final but she was already viral on social media and unsurprisingly hot favourite by this time. When the final came around, Angelina alone got 46 percent of the public vote.

What a lot of people aren't addressing in regards to Angelina is not just that she has an incredible singing voice but she has an phenomenal sense of time, and her sense of pitch and melody is very unusual I don't think I've ever heard her sing off-key and then the choices that she makes are often very mature and insightful. You have probably already listened to her sing I Put a Spell on You And in the early part of the song she does this high pitch singing screech that is actually on key and to think that a nine-year-old would even choose or even think to choose to put that in there at that time is quite astounding.

This was my first introduction to the absolute phenomenon that is Angelina. I remembered the original release by Cher, as well as the subsequent version by Nancy Sinatra featured in the movie 'Kill Bill'. I never could have imagined a child, barely out of toddlerhood singing this with such skill and subtle passion and conviction., yet here she was, a beautiful child doing precisely that. It seemed almost miraculous. She won the 2014 Norway's Got Talent edition singing classic jazz songs without ever having to belt or do anything really fancy but just preforming complicated melodies with purity and conviction. I immediately fell in love with her skill and talent and after some 200 videos she's never let me down. By the age of 12 she already had enough masterful performances out there for two greatest hits albums with plenty left over. She is truly one of a kind. 😎

You are a tremendous trio! My gal and I saw Angelina Jordan perform live in concert a couple weeks ago in Portsmouth, NH. She was truly sublime. We spoke to the fella sitting in front of us. He was 91 years old. He said "I saw Frank Sinatra 82 times and tonight I will have seen Angelina Jordan 3 times." Just listen to that sentence. Yep, she's 17 now. Her first album came out in 2018 when she was 12 called It's Magic. It had 2 originals: 'What Is Life' and 'Oslo'. Both of them are wonderful. The EP and the following album contains ALL ORIGINALS and she has been quoted telling us she has about 100 songs on a ledge somewhere waiting to be recorded. The three of you are just starting out and there is so much more to listen to. Never get to think you can expect what you are about to hear when she starts to sing for you. As much as the three of you and all of us are in awe of her it's nothing compared to what people in the industry think. Of course they are in awe of her but they take it to another level because they cannot believe how artistic she is. The tone of her voice is sensational but she has been rearranging classic songs from the past and she has full knowledge of what her supporting music should sound like (a guitarist, a pianist, a band or an orchestra, it doesn't make any difference). She is already (at 17) at a level where she can be regarded as one of the best singers in the world. But, it doesn't end there. A listener has to get to know her and when that happens, 'who she is' becomes paramount and that's when you throw away any thoughts about comparing her to someone else. With her jazzy background she is on the verge of creating an Angelina genre. She will be introducing jazz to millions of young people and there will definitely be a rebirth of jazz into our culture.

Angelina's vocals matured a lot between her second performance with "I'm A Fool To Want You" and this one. She does seem several years older.

Angelina currently has an EP (Old Enough) out with 6 songs that are all her originals - a full album of all originals is still on the way. In addition, Angelina released a previous album called Its Magic which she recorded with a full orchestral band when she was 11 years old (yes she was writing music at that age) - the album has two of her originals as well as several classic jazz covers. It is been up and down the iTunes Jazz Album chart since it was released.

Her audition performance was "Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday. Her second was "I'm a Fool to Want You" (also by Holiday) which she sang a capella. Then her third was this one, which is a cover of Nancy Sinatra's version (which was also a cover of Cher Bono back in the day). It's actually called "Bang, Bang," not "Shot Me Down." Her fourth and final song was George Gershwin's "Summertime," which cumulatively won her the competition with 46% of the total votes sent in, which is mind-blowing for any age, much less eight!

Angelina's first album was 'It's Magic', recorded when she was 11, the same year she opened for Norah Jones at the Muse in City Festival in Korea. The album came out in 2018 but it was in January 2020, following Angelina's appearance on the second series of America's Got Talent: The Champions, that it shot to #1 on the iTunes Jazz Album Top 100, toppling no less a jazz icon than Miles Davis. Obviously an anomaly but nevertheless an achievement nobody can deny or take away whatever the rest of her career may bring.

IMO, this performance is as good as any, regardless of age. Cher and Nancy Sinatra made this song a hit, Kill Bill introduced it to a younger generation. She was 7 when she auditioned for NGT and had a birthday before winning. This is the 3rd of 4 performances in the NGT competition. AJ opened for Norah Jones in Korea before a crowd of 40K (age 10ish?), perhaps her largest in person audience although her performance at the FIFA World Cup awards recently had a 300M audience worldwide. Awesome reaction and she just released her 1st EP 6 song Album of Originals under Republic Records! When she was 10 she released a Christmas Album, not under a label. There is a Russian Composer who wrote an 18 song Instrumental Album with 1 song he took a Poem put music to it and asked 10 year old Angelina to supply the voice, "A Song For A", Album reached 18 on the World Charts, God Bless!

Great reaction you three. This was Angelina’s third performance from Norway’s Got Talent. This was the semi finals. She had turned 8 by this performance. Regarding Lulu’s concern about the song content, it is a song about two people who used to play “shoot em up” as little kids using broomsticks as horses. As they got older they became lovers but the guy left the girl at the alter, breaking her heart therefore he “shot her down” like they did when they were playing as kids. The song was originally recorded by Cher back in the 60s and was a huge hit for her. Nancy Sinatra then covered it for an album later that year. Nancy’s version gained popularity in the 2000s from its use in the film Kill Bill. Angelina based her performance on the Nancy version. Of the 3, I prefer Angelina’s version especially because of the slides she adds in the middle. I recommend that you listen to Angelina’s NGT winning performances of Summertime.

Great reaction again. The song is Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang!"... I wouldn't worry too much about the lyrics which have been adapted to be age appropriate... Go back to the beginning and you'll hear she starts "I was five and he was six..." - the song is recast to be about a little chidren's game (one with toy guns but I don't think that's a problem... her family, her mother in particular, always took great pains to ensure the songs she sang had age-appropriate lyrics, with frequent rewriting to ensure that was the case). This is her 3rd round at Norway's Got Talent, the one before the final. Her new EP is not her first album, by the way: she put out a jazz album when she was 12, called "Magic" - and it really is magic ! :) And lastly: she really isn't nervous.... from interviews at that age when asked if she gets nervous she always said "Nah, it's just fun... I love being on stage..." - you get the impression she barely understood the concept of being nervous on stage at all ! (She can get nervous about other things as you'll see if you watch the video where Angelina and her friends are at a theme park and she a bit scared of the Big Dipper ! :) )

She was on NGT from ages 7-8. 4 amazing performances over a number of months. She had to keep wining to progress to the Finals. This was 2nd to last performance on NGT. Last one was summer time.

The song is about two kids who used to play cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians when they were young. Then the friend is gone to the Viet Nam war and was lost there. The song is about loss and not about shooting. I do love your reactions to our Angel. Please keep them coming.
