Marty Raney on Homestead Rescue highly recommends having them on a rotational wall to where you can direct them towards the sun always. Plus being on a wall they won't get a build up of snow or ice.

most people here - England - have solar panels on the house roof. It doesn't take many to generate excess electricity to sell it back to the National Grid, even with our climate. That's one thing I never understood when visiting America - where all the solar panels are. Lol we even have small solar panels to take camping with us....

Very cool. How will you mount the solar panels to the shop roof? FYI, in Florida, homeowners insurance companies don’t want to cover homes with solar panels because they blow off in hurricanes, damaging the roofs they were mounted to AND whatever houses in the neighborhood they may hit. Also, how will you protect the panels from hail? I know y’all have had several hail storms this year. Thanks for sharing this product with us. I live in California and when our temperature gets to 100 out here our solar panels no longer show that they're accepting charge do your panels spec out at a certain temperature?

If I did this I would make sure my goats could in no way get close to them. On top of the building would be the best place for them I would think. But I don’t have to ever think about it,because I will never have solar. They are extremely expensive. Good luck Kevin. Hope this works out for you.

This is good information. I'd never be able to set any of it up myself, but we've been thinking aling these lines in the next year or 2.

The thing I would worry about putting the panels on a frame in the pasture is, unless you put the frame 6-8 feet off the ground the goats would be trying to jump up on them. You know how they like to climb and be on the highest point possible in the pasture. If you have to build something that tall, Why not use the existing roof? Much cheaper than building a new structure and protected wires and connections underneath. ❤

We have 40 large solar panels on our home roof. Eventually we would like to get a backup battery system. It hasn’t been doable because of the economy. What we didn’t know ahead of time was that as you age they lose some of their capability. So we don’t earn an SREC as often as we did before.
